thank you for the nostalgia trip, hope we can also see classic Christmas commercials from YTV too! Oh and be sure to get to work on that livestream for the Santa Claus Parade, I can't wait to see it!
Wow, I remember those *Delsym "Hack Attack"* coughing commercials, with the special effects of the faces morphing like that. I loved it! Wasn't there some sort of complaint or controversy that the effects scared the crap out of people or something? I wonder if they stopped using the effects because of that...
So I don't think I've watched 80s commercials since the actual 80s, and what strikes me about thme is how like every freaking commerial has a song in it. It's not like that now. And the songs/jingles are all kinda similar - upbeat, happy. But then that was the good thing about the 80s, they were upbeat, happy. Good times before all this 'politically correct' BS, and every oh so serious all the time about everything, and doom and gloom, and holier-than-thou vegans, and....bring back the colour, fun, and big hair of the 80s!
It's amazing to see all the commercials for medications to get you back to work while sick. Now, you'll get tackled and hauled away if you have a slightly runny nose.
Seeing this makes you wish you could back to being a kid of the 80s especially around Christmas time
02:48 - Bell gift certificates - voiceover by John Stocker.
09:53 - Sani Foam - voiceover by Peter Wildman, of The Frantics.
I can remember a few of these.
Damn, I remembered the music from the Colgate ad at 2:16, & the tie askin' 'Hey, how ya doin'?' shortly after.
I will never forget the Clapper and Chia Pet ads.

Under the Umbrella Tree! 😍
7-Up... Are you UP for it? Hahahahahahah
I wonder if Annie in the Kraft Dinner ad knew Scott and Joey.
