The $99 gold pass is the issue. Ever since that was brought out, the park is WAY more busy than it used to be. Im talking problematic ammounts of people. I had the unfortunate experience of being in the park on the very first day that they had to close the causeway because the park was too full. Every midway was shoulder to shoulder, and gemini had a 90 minute wait. Hell.... cedar downs had a 30 min wait. They need to get rid of that. Gold pass should be a minimum of 150 since it gets you waterpark, and parking. I paid $120 for my first regular season pass in the mid 2000s. And that was park admission ONLY. Had to pay for parking, had to pay for waterpark if you wanted it.

Personally, I can’t see how a GCI wooden coaster can fit in the Kiddy Kingdom site. Seems too small. Now, the old dorm site on the other hand… Or maybe Millennium island if they are creative with how it interacts with Millennium Force.
A few comments about the pricing structure: 1. Sandusky is less of a tourist destination than Branson, Pigeon Forge, and central florida. You need to keep that in mind. 2. Silver dollar city offers free parking which saves you like $25 3. Cedar Fair model is getting you in reasonably cheap and then up charge everything else if you want to get through the park in a reasonable amount of time. 4. I think you bump it up to like .$60 and charge $25-$30 for parking. In terms of the coaster line up, if they got a Mack extreme spinner that operated like Ride To Happiness and had that level of layout, and a top tier GCI, neither TT2 nor milly would be a top 5 coaster in that park.
Video idea: It would be cool for you to do a series on how you wpuld transgorm small parks(Michigans Adventire, Frontier City, ect.) and turn thwm into the best park in thwir chaon within a certain timeframe (2050 or domething)

Definitely increase prices all around. I went 21 times last year, spent probably about $2000-$2200 overall, and got a RIDICULOUS amount of food, merch, fast lane uses, 3 nights of passholder discounts at Express, not to mention early entry, VIP lounge, all that. Truth be told Brandon, I would have spent another $1000 for the same experience. I couldnt believe the incredible value. I am having SERIOUS Happy Friar withdrawal.
Cedar point more than anything, needs a dark ride or two. Something that an entire family can ride at once. They have a ton of kid only rides and a ton of adult oriented rides. But besides the train and Cadillac cars they don't have much
I totally agree. I would love to see something old timey like Monster Mansion at Over Georgia or Haunted Castle at SCBB or Terror Ride at Lagoon. Those are a classic boardwalk style dark rides and they'd fit in well at Cedar Point They don't need to try and do anything on the scale of Disney or Universal and it would feel weird and out of place if they did. But something cool and perhaps old timey but with a bit of a budget. They also desperately need water rides.
overall i feel that if Sandusky integrated public transit into cedar point better, they could very easily do away with a good chunk of the massive parking lot and instead invest in more bus service or a tram, maximizing space. some type of reliable service to bring you in and out of the park along with bus service to nearby hotels could be the underrated secret towards building a stronger cedar point

I pretty much agree with most of what you said especially the addition of a GCI coaster. If I were to add a 6th item to your list it would be the addition of a dark ride. It's been quite a while since CP had a good dark ride. This is a family friendly type attraction and another attraction to operate during inclement weather.

So now I get to pay 271 for a gold pass that gets rid of park perks, bring a friend discounts and early entry vs. when we just had a the platinum pass at 235(still ridiculous) Platinum passes were 200(ish) when I started getting it. I still expect Cedar Point to add a new woodie to replace CCMR / Shoot the Rapids. Doubt they'd build one so close to Blue Streak, especially since it's over 60 years old now. A Camp Snoopy expansion on the north side of the island makes sense given the infrastructure that's still there. But there's no real need for a shortcut between Millennium Force and Gemini right now. Crowds will flock to TT2 and continue on to Maverick and Steel Vengeance. Hopefully we get a modest Cedar Fair Shores expansion - a water coaster is long overdue! As for the ticket prices - Cedar Point has to compete with other regional theme parks in the area not Disneyland, like Knott's Berry Farm does), and they generate plenty of revenue from their hotels. They can make admission relatively cheap so people spend more on food, merch, and Fast Lane.
I would set the price at $85 for adults, $65 for tweens, and $40 for kids old enough to ride. Low enough to not break the bank, but high enough to keep the riff raff out and the overall crowd density manageable. Neither Kiddy Kingdom nor the dorm plots by the marina are particularly big, though. Kiddy Kingdom is about an acre, and when you add in the land behind Valravn, the dorm plot is 2 acres at most. If you're adding coasters there, they'll need to be extremely compact. I wouldn't be surprised if Kiddy Kingdom is replaced with a flat ride package instead of a coaster. A small Gerstlauer Infinity or RMC Wild Moose might be possible, but that seems unlikely. And I still expect a family Straddle coaster will go into the dorm plot.
As an employee at SDC, I was shocked that CP only charges $50 a day. CP could definitely do a lot with a 50% increase on day tickets. We have an employee that worked at WoF and left because of the gang problems there.
Gravity Group could build a better version of Boardwalk Bullet on that Kiddy Kingdom plot of land. GCI is great, but GG has done more with less to work with. Thoughts?

When you charge. 100 bucks a pop, you make it difficult for a family of four to go - once you add in high food prices and parking. That leads to pressure to pay for the fastlane passes which then doubles the admission price. And I love coasters, but the big problem with Cedar Point now is the lack of non-coaster rides compared to what they used to have. Coasters drive attendance, but regional parks need repeat local customers. Price and ride variety affect those customers. I live near Cleveland and have a decent job. My wife and I went regularly until we had kids. It is just too expensive to make multiple trips there each year when there is not as good of a variety of rides.
Wait no way. Only $50 to get in for the day at Cedar point wow at Hersheypark even more expensive I thought Hershey was the cheapest they’re about $85 to get in plus parking.

Hopefully this park gets less busy 😂, i hate saying it because i dont mind waiting in lines but when ya drive 4 plus hrs to visit the park with the family and the family only gets to ride like 5 coasters all day because there was that many ppl in the park is just unacceptable in my opinion., keep up the good work Brandon, i enjoy your videos, i just worry that the bigger parks like Cedar Point have become way too over crowded to enjoy! You are almost forced into buying fast lane passes if you dont want to wait that long.. and i shouldnt have to spend that kind of money that the fast lane passes costs to ensure my family can enjoy most of the attractions that the park has to offer in one day anymore! And if you have to visit a park 2 or 3 days to enjoy everything that you used to be able to enjoy in 1 day then that is in turn making the trip 2 to 3 times more expensive, which is why for the first time in 20 yrs, i will not be renewing our 4 passes, im not sure the value is there anymore with amusement parks and its saddening to me to be thinking this way, but i feel someone has to say it!!!

First thing I would do is change Steve and Millies fast pass lane to merge at the station. Its crazy what a scam it is to pay $200 for a fast pass then still have to wait 15-20 mins for a lap.
Hello everyone but won’t anyone agree that cedar point should add a backwards roller coaster that goes backwards throughout the whole track and that you will not know when the first drop happens or any inversions. I think that it would be very unique and a funner extreme thrill seeker ride that everyone would love and that will never get old in any way possible
If i have one thing to do for Cedar Point is to keep Corkscrew to stay in it's place and make it a national historic landmark from the American Coaster Enthusiasts due to the fact that Corkscrew is the first coaster to go upside down 3 times and to do that over the midway.
I would actually get rid of the water park altogether and expand the main park into that area. If they really want a water park available than I would move it off the peninsula.
I totally agree that Cedar Point can easily charge more based on how much there is to do there. I would happily pay more if that means the day to day employees get higher pay (not the executives)
Kiddie Kingdom is almost the only spot in the park with rides for kids under 36" - anything they do in that area they would definitely need to offset with rides in that height category somewhere else
I agree with your two new coaster choices……I would just flip the locations for each. The Mack spinner where Kiddie Kingdom is and put the woodie where the dorms were.
As I've said many times, find a way to keep the Kiddie Kingdom Carousel, and you find a way to change the area. That's probably why they haven't touched that area much.
OK, posting this comment before I watch the vid. Here's my take for Cedar Point's next big three roller coasters: a massive GCI woodie at the back of the park where the old Sky Coaster was. Remove Kitty Kingdom, expand Camp Snoopy, and build a nice big Bear Mountain-like coaster there. Then, an extreme spinner at the front of the park near Raptor.
It's a hard one. lower prices increase crowds and higher prices push some customers away. At some point the price and attendance meet and i'd say $60 is a good price.
Great video!! I agree with all of your ideas, except for the price hike. I'm not sure it would weed out the rowdy crowd. I went to six flags Great America last year and paid around $85 including parking. And it was easily the worst day of ride ops and rude crowds I've ever experienced. But on the other hand the $99 gold pass is an insane deal. I bought mine last year with a drink plan. I went 10 times last season and didn't spend a dime in the park (cooler of food in car). It felt like I was stealing almost lol. The only other way to improve CP I can think of, is just coaster variety. A lot of SF parks have one of every type. CP could use a flying, spinner, newer woody, single rail, steel dueling, 4th dimension , etc.
The first thing I would do is increase the price of the gold pass to at least 150$. The park wouldn’t be as overly clogged. Then, I would contact Gravity Group and produce a 150 ft tall woodie with a twister layout and possibly a heartline roll on the beach, or over by where Shoot The Rapids once stood.
Agree on the kids rides comments, they had like one opp running a few rides at a time last year. The kids pretty much followed them around to get rides in. Spiff it up with some quality over quantity. Michigan's adventure of all places has a really nice camp snoopy with different rides.
Also, I'd love to see a dark ride go inside Steel Vengeance. Would be great to feature the characters created for the coaster and give them a shootout storyline. There'd still be plenty of space for a maintenance building in the north corner of Vengeance, and a dark ride would give younger riders an attraction to enjoy with the Maverick / Vengeance storyline. Should be great for merch sales, too!
In the Camp Snoopy expansion that might also be an opportunity to bring back the old Mill Race log ride and give it a Charlie Brown theme like the one at Kings Island.
I would've kept original Top Thrill Dragster. Instead of spending tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars on the Sports Force Parks, Sawmill Creek, and Castaway Bay, I would've saved all of it for keeping original Top Thrill Dragster operating. Park officials were acting like crybabies all because of that one coaster.
It was a MAJOR problem, it closed down because of an accident and if they didn’t change anything something like that would probably happen again. Sure, the launch isn’t as punchy now, but I think the ride will be fine and be better for the park overall.

Top Thrill Dragster doesn't bring in revenue. Sports Force, Sawmill and Castaway Bay bring in revenue which is needed to keep things running. I'm sure the park would be in terrible shape based off your financial decisions. There is also lawsuits around TTD and public perception.
Here's a thought for Cedar Point and buckle up, this is going to be a bit long winded. Until EPCOT Center opened at WDW, it wasn't really a common occurrence to see a theme park resort with a second gate (meaning a second park.) And for the most part, you only really see this with Universal and Disney (though Portaventura World resort is an exception.) A big part of the reason for that is just land. But the other reason is the continuity of the experience between the parks. It feels odd to visit a "resort" but have to leave the main campus and drive on the public roads to visit a second park. It's okay for a water park but it might be weird for a pair of theme parks. WDW had the land so that was no issue. Universal had to get creative for IOA but they pulled it off. But Epic Universe may be a game changer. It is not directly connected to the main resort. But no one is even slightly worried about that. And Universal has been buying land and paying to revitalize the public land between the main sight and the sight of Epic Universe. In other words, I think we've reached a place where it may not matter if two parks aren't right next to each other or that continuity is broken (assuming Epic Universe is a success and all signs point to it being a massive success.) So what does this have to do with Cedar Point? Well, they can't expand the park itself much because it's almost an island (other than using up the parking lot.) But what if they bought some land outside of Sandusky to build a second gate park for the Cedar Point Resort? They could give it a unique identity or focus to not make it feel redundant. They could make it more family oriented. They could make it a park with animal exhibits. They could make it more themed like a Knotts Berry Farm of the Midwest. They could do any number of things to make it stand apart. But Cedar Point is a destination park with multiple hotels but most visitors still only go for a one or two days. It's the one park in the chain that would have a genuine shot of being a week long resort like we see in Orlando. In other words, what I'd like Cedar Point to get is a baby sister.

And I love coasters, but the big problem with Cedar Point now is the lack of non-coaster rides compared to what they used to have. Coasters drive attendance, but regional parks need repeat local customers. Price and ride variety affect those customers. I live near Cleveland and have a decent job. My wife and I went regularly until we had kids. It is just too expensive to make multiple trips there each year when there is not as good of a variety of rides.
Wait no way. Only $50 to get in for the day at Cedar point wow at Hersheypark even more expensive I thought Hershey was the cheapest they’re about $85 to get in plus parking.

Hopefully this park gets less busy 😂, i hate saying it because i dont mind waiting in lines but when ya drive 4 plus hrs to visit the park with the family and the family only gets to ride like 5 coasters all day because there was that many ppl in the park is just unacceptable in my opinion., keep up the good work Brandon, i enjoy your videos, i just worry that the bigger parks like Cedar Point have become way too over crowded to enjoy! You are almost forced into buying fast lane passes if you dont want to wait that long.. and i shouldnt have to spend that kind of money that the fast lane passes costs to ensure my family can enjoy most of the attractions that the park has to offer in one day anymore! And if you have to visit a park 2 or 3 days to enjoy everything that you used to be able to enjoy in 1 day then that is in turn making the trip 2 to 3 times more expensive, which is why for the first time in 20 yrs, i will not be renewing our 4 passes, im not sure the value is there anymore with amusement parks and its saddening to me to be thinking this way, but i feel someone has to say it!!!
So much hate for kiddie kingdom, it's not that bad and the kids love it. I can see them taking some away but I see planet snoopy going first because it's actually less popular.

I forgot the name of the top my head the one that was built in the 70s I think you said it in one of your escape designs videos that you would replace it with something else. Even if you did all these changes, it very hard to get people to work these days since covid. The Government has spoiled these people and now if they want to work, they want a relax job and higher pay.
First thing I would do is change Steve and Millies fast pass lane to merge at the station. Its crazy what a scam it is to pay $200 for a fast pass then still have to wait 15-20 mins for a lap.

Hello everyone but won’t anyone agree that cedar point should add a backwards roller coaster that goes backwards throughout the whole track and that you will not know when the first drop happens or any inversions. I think that it would be very unique and a funner extreme thrill seeker ride that everyone would love and that will never get old in any way possible
If i have one thing to do for Cedar Point is to keep Corkscrew to stay in it's place and make it a national historic landmark from the American Coaster Enthusiasts due to the fact that Corkscrew is the first coaster to go upside down 3 times and to do that over the midway.
I would actually get rid of the water park altogether and expand the main park into that area. If they really want a water park available than I would move it off the peninsula.
I totally agree that Cedar Point can easily charge more based on how much there is to do there. I would happily pay more if that means the day to day employees get higher pay (not the executives)

Kiddie Kingdom is almost the only spot in the park with rides for kids under 36" - anything they do in that area they would definitely need to offset with rides in that height category somewhere else
$50 is smart, it makes people come to the park and then they spend more on overpriced food and drinks or extras.

As I've said many times, find a way to keep the Kiddie Kingdom Carousel, and you find a way to change the area. That's probably why they haven't touched that area much.
OK, posting this comment before I watch the vid. Here's my take for Cedar Point's next big three roller coasters: a massive GCI woodie at the back of the park where the old Sky Coaster was. Remove Kitty Kingdom, expand Camp Snoopy, and build a nice big Bear Mountain-like coaster there. Then, an extreme spinner at the front of the park near Raptor.
It's a hard one. lower prices increase crowds and higher prices push some customers away. At some point the price and attendance meet and i'd say $60 is a good price.
Great video!! I agree with all of your ideas, except for the price hike. I'm not sure it would weed out the rowdy crowd. I went to six flags Great America last year and paid around $85 including parking. And it was easily the worst day of ride ops and rude crowds I've ever experienced. But on the other hand the $99 gold pass is an insane deal. I bought mine last year with a drink plan. I went 10 times last season and didn't spend a dime in the park (cooler of food in car). It felt like I was stealing almost lol. The only other way to improve CP I can think of, is just coaster variety. A lot of SF parks have one of every type. CP could use a flying, spinner, newer woody, single rail, steel dueling, 4th dimension , etc.
The first thing I would do is increase the price of the gold pass to at least 150$. The park wouldn’t be as overly clogged. Then, I would contact Gravity Group and produce a 150 ft tall woodie with a twister layout and possibly a heartline roll on the beach, or over by where Shoot The Rapids once stood.
Agree on the kids rides comments, they had like one opp running a few rides at a time last year. The kids pretty much followed them around to get rides in. Spiff it up with some quality over quantity. Michigan's adventure of all places has a really nice camp snoopy with different rides.
Also, I'd love to see a dark ride go inside Steel Vengeance. Would be great to feature the characters created for the coaster and give them a shootout storyline. There'd still be plenty of space for a maintenance building in the north corner of Vengeance, and a dark ride would give younger riders an attraction to enjoy with the Maverick / Vengeance storyline. Should be great for merch sales, too!

In the Camp Snoopy expansion that might also be an opportunity to bring back the old Mill Race log ride and give it a Charlie Brown theme like the one at Kings Island.

I would've kept original Top Thrill Dragster. Instead of spending tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars on the Sports Force Parks, Sawmill Creek, and Castaway Bay, I would've saved all of it for keeping original Top Thrill Dragster operating. Park officials were acting like crybabies all because of that one coaster.
It was a MAJOR problem, it closed down because of an accident and if they didn’t change anything something like that would probably happen again. Sure, the launch isn’t as punchy now, but I think the ride will be fine and be better for the park overall.

Top Thrill Dragster doesn't bring in revenue. Sports Force, Sawmill and Castaway Bay bring in revenue which is needed to keep things running. I'm sure the park would be in terrible shape based off your financial decisions. There is also lawsuits around TTD and public perception.
Here's a thought for Cedar Point and buckle up, this is going to be a bit long winded.
Until EPCOT Center opened at WDW, it wasn't really a common occurrence to see a theme park resort with a second gate (meaning a second park.) And for the most part, you only really see this with Universal and Disney (though Portaventura World resort is an exception.) A big part of the reason for that is just land. But the other reason is the continuity of the experience between the parks. It feels odd to visit a "resort" but have to leave the main campus and drive on the public roads to visit a second park. It's okay for a water park but it might be weird for a pair of theme parks.
WDW had the land so that was no issue. Universal had to get creative for IOA but they pulled it off. But Epic Universe may be a game changer. It is not directly connected to the main resort. But no one is even slightly worried about that. And Universal has been buying land and paying to revitalize the public land between the main sight and the sight of Epic Universe. In other words, I think we've reached a place where it may not matter if two parks aren't right next to each other or that continuity is broken (assuming Epic Universe is a success and all signs point to it being a massive success.)
So what does this have to do with Cedar Point? Well, they can't expand the park itself much because it's almost an island (other than using up the parking lot.) But what if they bought some land outside of Sandusky to build a second gate park for the Cedar Point Resort? They could give it a unique identity or focus to not make it feel redundant. They could make it more family oriented. They could make it a park with animal exhibits. They could make it more themed like a Knotts Berry Farm of the Midwest. They could do any number of things to make it stand apart. But Cedar Point is a destination park with multiple hotels but most visitors still only go for a one or two days. It's the one park in the chain that would have a genuine shot of being a week long resort like we see in Orlando.
In other words, what I'd like Cedar Point to get is a baby sister.
Sell the park to Sea World parks and rename it to Busch Gardens midamerica because Cedair fair is just six flags with out the DC characters.
