This channel is my "my friends sigh when I bring up the Jigsaw Puzzle Lady Channel, but let me tell them how awesome it is anyway". It's like a guilty pleasure, except I have no shame and want everyone to watch. :)
You’re doing “guilty pleasures” wrong. This channel is a wholesome pleasure... it’s fun, interesting and actually useful in deciding what type of puzzles to choose next.
In contrast Chef club and Scrumpdidiliumptious (sp?) are my *guilty pleasures* - absolutely bonkers recipes with no value whatsoever. I don’t want to make or eat anything they show - I’m just stunned by it. 🌈

Puzzles was mine and my moms thing together but she recently passed and I don’t have any motivation to do any of the new ones I brought. Since normally I would let her build them afterwards. This is giving me some motivation to start on them again.

My thoughts: you should keep doing puzzles and “talk” to your mom. Ask her: “and what do you think about this one? Looks easier than I thought”. I’m sure that she will smile at you and be happy that you continue the hobby what you shared together.
I had the same thing with my dad, we used to always puzzle together, but when he passed away back in June, we hadn't finished the puzzle we were working on and my family just took it apart without asking me, I only found the motivation to start working on that puzzle again a few months ago (haven't finished it yet as I'm now in uni and find it hard to find time for puzzles)

I love the themes in many of these puzzles - body positivity, feminism, lgbtqia+ representation, we love to see it! So many great art styles too, I can’t even pick a favorite! I want to do more puzzles with quirky and different piece shapes, but I would love to see that video about tips for same color puzzles or sections of a puzzle

I did the Disney villain puzzle with a friend of mine! While it is really difficult, I think it's one of my favorite puzzles that I've put together :D I really do love the bright rainbow color puzzles

Omg! My family did the Disney Princess version of this puzzle during the 2020 lockdown! We had the exact same problems as Karen with colors not going where we thought, putting together the grids, etc. but it was so much fun!

So glad that my strategy of "just try to pick it up" to dismantle a puzzle is the Karen Approved Method. Also, I'm so glad you featured so many RAINBOW puzzles! :D

"Started at 9 and was ready at 11" 😱 those puzzles take me 4 days ! Since you get a lot of puzzles from your sister who I think also puzzles ( because you did one together at zoom ) maybe it is a idea to do a video with you both in it, maybe a contest or so ? 🙃

I would definitely love to see some tips on large, fairly uniform puzzles. I just bought BetterCo's 1000 piece "purple succulents" puzzle and omg why did I do this to myself. SEND HELP 🌈
That Disney Villain puzzle looks so fun! I think that I would have DNFed (to borrow a term from booktube lol) the Rainbow Liberty puzzle once I got to just the background since I hate doing solid color puzzle sections like that. It feels like repetitive guesswork instead of a fun challenge, at least for me personally.

Oh my goodness, that Spring Begins puzzle is exquisite! The flowers! The textures! The Rainbow of colors! I was so ready to buy it, but I can't find it anywhere online. You're so fortunate to have gotten your hands on it. Thanks so much for bringing Lemonade Pursuits to my attention. I've signed up for their newsletter and will be keeping an eye on their website. I'm confident I'll be purchasing some puzzles from them soon.
Loved the variety here Karen. Particularly thought the semi gradient one was clever. And a nice rainbow. I’ve be working on heye loup orchestra, 2000. It is super hard for me, but great fun. The Loup artwork is really clever, the faces of the orchestra, choir and audience are all different and they are mostly up to no good. My dad comes over and spends ages looking in the box, I think he is searching for all the risqué booby pieces, of which there are a few. As a musician I am enjoying that the things they are getting up to is so accurate. Recommended.
I would most want to do the herstory puzzle because it’s beautiful and I’m not as good at puzzles as you so for me that one would be medium difficulty.
You were so productive in you break with all your puzzles in the whole rainbow of styles and colors. I did 2 in my break. That was productive for me.

The Spring Begins puzzle is gorgeous! Such a beautiful rainbow of awesome colors! I haven’t done any of these puzzles before but that’s the one I’d want to do most. I’ve done a similar Disney villain puzzle before and I was really surprised how difficult it was!
I would be over the rainbow if I could do the Spring Begins puzzle.

My family and I got super into puzzles over break. It was made a little extra challenging with our puzzle piece eating cat, but we had a great time.

I love that 1500 piece Disney one! Even though you said it's difficult I'm intrigued 😂 I love a good Disney jigsaw, I just finished the Sleeping Beauty Thomas Kinkade one and it was so fun, although all the dark trees took me so long to do. I always tell myself I should do the dark bits first but that never works out haha. It's always so much more fun to do the colourful/rainbow bits 😉

I did an "Impossible puzzle " this christmas the one with all leaves and Olaf in the middle..
And I say "did" but I did the edge, and then spent 3 days only joining 3 pieces by chance LOL. Went back to the box unfinished.
Once again, my wish list gets longer! I was so happy when you found the missing piece of the rainbow flag. I had the same issue with one of my Christmas puzzles but the piece eventually turned up, far away from the table I was working at. I suspect my cat may have had something to do with that! For Christmas I got (and have done) my first Galison puzzle (vintage pencils) and my first Cloudberries (symmetry). Also, thanks largely to you reigniting my love of puzzles, I started a seperate Instagram account to share the puzzles I do and the books I read. Happy New Year!

oh cool you did another escape room! i finally did mine the other day, managed to solve all but 1 of the puzzles myself (level 2 witches kitchen haha) theyre so much fun tbh, so many of these puzzles look so pretty in this video too might have to dabble in getting some!

I also struggled with that same puzzle! made me realize I'm not crazy about puzzles with large expanses of same/very similar colors/textures
I have the Betterco Flamingos and that gorgeous Lemonade Pursuits in my pile of puzzles waiting to be put together.

I wanna try a lemonade pursuits or eeboo puzzle (but maybe not the rainbow one bc of the background!)
There are puzzle frames that can hold finished puzzles without you having to glue them. In case you wanna hang the one up temporarily. So you don't ruin the puzzle.

Wow, you were busy! I think that, like you, I liked the Spring Begins one the best. I really like bright, colorful images and that one had a rainbow of color in it! It definitely wouldn't look out of place on your wall.
One thing I found that helps me on solid colors is to lay them out in rows like you did....but, look for a grain in the paper by holding the piece at an angle to a light. Some puzzles will have a grain....some do not. If you lay them out with all the grain going the same way, you have knocked out 50% of the guess work. I will take a piece from the assembled area and just run it up and down the rows to find the one that fits VS. taking a piece and trying to find where it fits in the puzzle. I will only do this once for each piece, If I dont find it the first try, I will move on to another piece. I will also try and build the solid areas with boxed in empty spots. IE build all around to make an empty space and you will see the shape of the piece that goes n the empty area. :) It also helps to put a penny in the spot you pulled your piece from the completed puzzle so you remember where to put it once you find a match.

I really love the orderly destruction that comes from folding a puzzle into a rainbow of pieces. A whole video of folding puzzles would be fun!

I haven't done any of those. I would probably most likely do the Escape one or the Lemonade Pursuits (Spring Begins). I really enjoy the escape puzzles and mystery puzzles. And also enjoy trying new brands and I haven't tried Lemonade Pursuits yet. Loved that Rainbow one ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Me and my partner have been working on one of the Ravensburger exit puzzles since Christmas. Very slowly putting it together. Once we've finished we are going to send it over to his parents for them to do as well. It definitely adds a more collaborative element to the puzzle process.

Love your Rainbow of puzzles. I’d like to do Spring Begins by Lemonade Pursuits. I’ve never done any of their puzzles. I just finished two 500-piece puzzles, eeboo’s round Votes for Women (easy but fun) and Gibson’s London Underground map (easy and I didn’t look at the box/map). I’m getting ready to start a 1000-piece Falcon puzzle, A Winter in London. It looks challenging.
I would love to try some of those easiest puzzles, especially because the colors are so bright and fun to look at! Rainbow.

Watching the montage at the end, I have a weird question for you: Is there a good way to take a puzzle apart? It sounds funny, but I always have problems with that - you can't rip it apart as it could break (I am always afraid of that), and if you fold it you'll end up with sections that are still quite put together which also always annoys me. But well, you also can't take it apart piece by piece. So which way do you prefer? I know, those are the really hard and challenging questions in life :D

It depends on how tightly the pieces fit together! If it's loose enough, you can just kind of crumple it, and the pieces all fall apart when you put them into the box. If it's tighter, I like to roll it up and then gently bend it to break it apart. I also don't worry too much about small sections still together, since I figure I can take them apart when sorting the pieces the next time I do that puzzle!

Try the thrift stores or trade with other people. Also, when libraries reopen you may be able to borrow or buy inexpensively.
Would definitely love a tips video for large areas of block colour and texture, have 1 puzzle I haven't been able to finish for 1 year+ just because of the trees and sky being so tricky!!
I actually got my first quality puzzle this Christmas, since I got onto puzzles during lockdown. I really enjoyed the Midnight at the library from ravensburger because there's so much going on!

Karen, I’m new to your channel, so I apologize if you’ve covered this already. I’d love for you to discuss lighting. I love doing puzzles but it never fails that the lighting in my house is either too dim (my track lights) or causes a bad glare on the puzzle pieces (lamps, spotlights, flashlights, etc). I’ve resorted to using my phone’s flashlight and working in the dark.
Do they make puzzle lights? Or do you have a certain level of lighting that works great for you?
