My dumb brain saw the _flowers_ and thought you were supposed to remove them before starting (like they were a packing decoration or something). Sure glad you didnt! They were definitely a good and unique addition

When you mentioned it being a luxury puzzle with that price tag, I thought for sure it would be a whatever puzzle with some over the top packaging and claims about the craftsmanship. But I was honestly blown away. The quality of the pieces, the beauty and artistry of the puzzle itself, it's actually challenging cause of the piece shapes and it's custom made for you. Super impressed though the price tag is still crazy xD
When you're paying that much for a puzzle you aren't paying so much for the materials (although those are very good as well), you're paying for the time it takes to make it, and the thousands of hours it takes to learn how to do that. I don't see myself ever buying a $2,000 puzzle, but can certainly appreciate what it takes to make one.

Oh my gosh, this is gorgeous! A piece of art indeed. This is almost romantic. The time Justin spent on creating this customized puzzle for Karen, and the time Karen spent on appreciating and putting it together - aargh it almost feels like an exchange of love letters.
I find it so fascinating how someone can get so excited about puzzles, I never got to do puzzles when I was younger because of poverty, I recently started doing them in quarantine and cannot get enough of them, even though I might not love them as much as you do, I wish to love them.

I think 100years or so I can imagine this puzzle being sought after by Par collectors sheerly because of its avantgarde-ness. Even if Par doesn't go the avantgarde route, it'll still be an outlier among the many Par jigsaw puzzles.

I think this is the most gorgeous puzzle I've ever seen. The company/puzzle maker was so generous to gift it to you, and I feel like the whole vibe of it suits you so well. So impressed with the craftsmanship and creativity to incorporate the flowers AND have them be able to be rotated and arranged. All the puzzle pieces looked so overwhelming at first but omg that jigsaw is a work of art! I thought the flowers were just a nice unboxing feature. I might have tried to remove them, not realising they were intentional 😂😂😭😭

seeing those thick cut puzzle pieces reminds me of children's board puzzles with like 10 pieces, which still feel satisfying to put together over cardboard puzzle pieces lol this is a gorgeous piece of art you deserve to own it!
Textured puzzles do exist. Ravensburger does have 3 of them. One with cork, one with a special kind of paper, and one with black velvet. I liked them a lot :) Actually FLOWERs are a part of the puzzle with velvet on it
I know of the ones with velvet and cork, but don't know the ones with the special kind of paper. Do you have a puzzle name for that, so I can look it up?

@@KarenPuzzles They are deceptively difficult for 500 piece puzzles. But the cork one is great wall art since you can't really see the separate puzzle pieces when it's completed.

I've never felt as intensely jealous as I do now watching you do this puzzle! I was very lucky to receive unidragon wooden puzzle earlier this year, and I love it so much. I now have to break that puzzle out on my lunchbreak and do it again to help satisfy this craving. 😂

What a stunningly beautiful puzzle, with those added [FLOWER]'s, leaves and feathers. You can tell that there is so much craftsmanship that has gone into it, you should most definitely be honoured for having this gifted to you. Years ago, when I was at intermediate school, there was a 3D puzzle of a custom made wooden cube, when assembled. It was about 30-60 parts, I cannot remember now, but no one was able to put it together. It was a three day project for me, but I fully assembled it, by following wood grains. It was very satisfying, because even the teachers thought that pieces were missing, until I put it together. I'm not sure if anyone has done it since.
Just phenomenal. All the editing shots are a puzzle of their own too. Amazing camera angles and all the attention you put into everything. Nice to see thick pieces. And the presentation was phenomenally put together as well. Very amazing, Karen. I originally found you being interested in making a vertical puzzle using my thick paint that rises off the surface in a painting, now wondering about seeing the 3D effect in a puzzle too, and to see what was out there. One challenge is that the paint shrinks and expands and any edge pieces don't fit together well when painted over, so am thinking the edges would have to be raw somehow and painting only in the middle of each piece, than dong the whole painting and cut it. A fine art painting with massive texture and sculpture on top would be just so cool though. I'm glad to have found your channel. It is quite a neat idea you've put together here. Code: flower.

I love how the Flower(s) were incorporated. You can always tell when an artist takes his craft and makes something they enjoy. This is beautiful. The custom puzzle I'll always remember was one my high-school sweet heart made for me. He had a really important question for me and he made a puzzle out of it. I was only allowed to answer his question by giving him a single puzzle peice back...... it said "Will you go to prom with me? Yes No" Every word was broken up into multiple pieces except for the word "yes" was all on a single peice. Cheeky little boy, eh. 🥰

Wow what an amazing gift, and also what an amazing puzzle. I've never heard of this company but their craftsmanship looks next level! I love that they personalized it especially for you with your name in it, and the color pieces were so pretty in all those shades of pinks. The odd shapes of the puzzle pieces and the puzzle itself being not square looked really challenging. But when you pay that much for an experience you'd love for it to last for awhile. The pieces were so thick and the way it went together looked so satisfying. Thank you for sharing and thank you to Par Puzzles for sending such a great puzzle that we all got to be a part of experiencing.
Years ago I made some puzzles for my nieces by gluing pages from children's books to thin plywood and band-sawing into large pieces. It's a lot of work so I can only imagine the time that goes into cutting a Par type puzzle. It was really satisfying watching you build the FLOWER/flamingo puzzle. Reverse schadenfreude:-) Thanks for sharing your experience.
My brother used to make puzzles out of wood and I would paint them. It was fun and made children happy. Even personalized some. I do so love the flower with the bird puzzle you finished. I would still be working on it. That is if I started Dec. 1st 2020. Great work and anxious to see new work for 2021.

I’m binge watching your videos, and just finished this one! The flower detail was incredible! My grandparents made my daughter a puzzle. My grandma was an incredible artist, so she painted the image, and my grandpa cut the pieces. It was such a special gift, and something that she will treasure forever! 🥰

lovely flowers in that one. I have recently started to cut my own puzzles mostly as family gifts. Just starting out with it the first bunch were just 8x10 and run from 150-180 pieces. Cutting wood puzzles is not for the faint of heart.
I will never buy one of these but this was so interesting. I hope we can see more interesting things going on in the puzzle making community like this. Such a beautiful finished piece.

At work, we have a few custom puzzles made out of work-related system diagrams as a fun thing to do, but also help people be acquainted with the diagrams. They include gradients to make it not too difficult. It's adds to the office atmosphere, like a flower.
I am still waiting for the puzzle that was "Designed by Karen." How does you puzzle merchandise not include any puzzles? Or how about an Amazon shop (like Mr. Puzzle)?

Karen you are 100% right about when you said just filming the close-ups of those big thick puzzle pieces fitting together is so satisfying to watch as a viewer. By the way as I watch this, the image that is appearing looks to be very very beautiful. I can't wait to see what it's going to turn out to be.

seeing those thick cut puzzle pieces reminds me of children's board puzzles with like 10 pieces, which still feel satisfying to put together over cardboard puzzle pieces lol this is a gorgeous piece of art you deserve to own it!
Textured puzzles do exist. Ravensburger does have 3 of them. One with cork, one with a special kind of paper, and one with black velvet. I liked them a lot :)
Actually FLOWERs are a part of the puzzle with velvet on it
I know of the ones with velvet and cork, but don't know the ones with the special kind of paper. Do you have a puzzle name for that, so I can look it up?

@@KarenPuzzles They are deceptively difficult for 500 piece puzzles. But the cork one is great wall art since you can't really see the separate puzzle pieces when it's completed.

I've never felt as intensely jealous as I do now watching you do this puzzle! I was very lucky to receive unidragon wooden puzzle earlier this year, and I love it so much. I now have to break that puzzle out on my lunchbreak and do it again to help satisfy this craving. 😂

Some of my favorite puzzles to give as gifts were personalized ones; none however included flowers. This puzzle is amazing.
What a stunningly beautiful puzzle, with those added [FLOWER]'s, leaves and feathers. You can tell that there is so much craftsmanship that has gone into it, you should most definitely be honoured for having this gifted to you.
Years ago, when I was at intermediate school, there was a 3D puzzle of a custom made wooden cube, when assembled. It was about 30-60 parts, I cannot remember now, but no one was able to put it together. It was a three day project for me, but I fully assembled it, by following wood grains. It was very satisfying, because even the teachers thought that pieces were missing, until I put it together. I'm not sure if anyone has done it since.
My husband got me a Howl’s Moving Castle custom puzzle once. It didn’t have a single flower on it though 😊
Just phenomenal. All the editing shots are a puzzle of their own too. Amazing camera angles and all the attention you put into everything. Nice to see thick pieces. And the presentation was phenomenally put together as well. Very amazing, Karen. I originally found you being interested in making a vertical puzzle using my thick paint that rises off the surface in a painting, now wondering about seeing the 3D effect in a puzzle too, and to see what was out there. One challenge is that the paint shrinks and expands and any edge pieces don't fit together well when painted over, so am thinking the edges would have to be raw somehow and painting only in the middle of each piece, than dong the whole painting and cut it. A fine art painting with massive texture and sculpture on top would be just so cool though. I'm glad to have found your channel. It is quite a neat idea you've put together here. Code: flower.

I love how the Flower(s) were incorporated. You can always tell when an artist takes his craft and makes something they enjoy. This is beautiful. The custom puzzle I'll always remember was one my high-school sweet heart made for me. He had a really important question for me and he made a puzzle out of it. I was only allowed to answer his question by giving him a single puzzle peice back...... it said "Will you go to prom with me? Yes No" Every word was broken up into multiple pieces except for the word "yes" was all on a single peice. Cheeky little boy, eh. 🥰

Wow what an amazing gift, and also what an amazing puzzle. I've never heard of this company but their craftsmanship looks next level! I love that they personalized it especially for you with your name in it, and the color pieces were so pretty in all those shades of pinks. The odd shapes of the puzzle pieces and the puzzle itself being not square looked really challenging. But when you pay that much for an experience you'd love for it to last for awhile. The pieces were so thick and the way it went together looked so satisfying. Thank you for sharing and thank you to Par Puzzles for sending such a great puzzle that we all got to be a part of experiencing.

Years ago I made some puzzles for my nieces by gluing pages from children's books to thin plywood and band-sawing into large pieces. It's a lot of work so I can only imagine the time that goes into cutting a Par type puzzle.

My brother used to make puzzles out of wood and I would paint them. It was fun and made children happy. Even personalized some. I do so love the flower with the bird puzzle you finished. I would still be working on it. That is if I started Dec. 1st 2020. Great work and anxious to see new work for 2021.

I’m binge watching your videos, and just finished this one! The flower detail was incredible! My grandparents made my daughter a puzzle. My grandma was an incredible artist, so she painted the image, and my grandpa cut the pieces. It was such a special gift, and something that she will treasure forever! 🥰

lovely flowers in that one. I have recently started to cut my own puzzles mostly as family gifts. Just starting out with it the first bunch were just 8x10 and run from 150-180 pieces. Cutting wood puzzles is not for the faint of heart.
I will never buy one of these but this was so interesting. I hope we can see more interesting things going on in the puzzle making community like this. Such a beautiful finished piece.

At work, we have a few custom puzzles made out of work-related system diagrams as a fun thing to do, but also help people be acquainted with the diagrams. They include gradients to make it not too difficult. It's adds to the office atmosphere, like a flower.
I am still waiting for the puzzle that was "Designed by Karen." How does you puzzle merchandise not include any puzzles? Or how about an Amazon shop (like Mr. Puzzle)?
I’ve done a Liberty puzzle, which is as close as I think I’ll ever get to a Par Puzzle! Gorgeous, and so neat to have the flowers in the puzzle!
Love watching your videos, I actually decided to do a 5000 piece puzzle because I had some time and worked a little to much on it and finished it in a month. About 70 hours spend on it.
