The bus companies should never have taken these gorgoeus buses out of service, much more reliable and better than the so called buses in service now, love the sound of the engine, nice one lads for keeping one of these beauties alive.

Is she the Leyland 680..? I did my time at Southampton City College and was blessed to be taught by Mr Mike Maskill. Strangely enough he worked at Lex Tillotson (Adams Morey, Redbridge) when my Dad was there as an apprentice! Mr Maskill was a wealth of old school knowledge and craftsmanship - I lapped up everything he shared with us in class... Only last week I recalled upon one of his teachings to a guy rebuilding his Land Rover engine 😂😂😂 “Gapping the rings - 0.005” for every inch diameter”.

...just to add, Mr Maskill had lots of engines in our college workshop, one of his favourites being the mighty Leyland 680 that remained in facelifted manufacture until replaced in DAF with Pacaar MX if I’m right in saying so..? Circa 2206/2007..??? This is only memory fella, we’re getting older and minds aren’t as sharp as they once were 😂😂😂
