Years ago I bought a set of soft red goggles similar to the kind I use in my woodworking shop to keep sawdust out of my eyes. They have red-tinted lenses and the plastic wraparound (to prevent white light from leaking in from the side) is also red. I think they came from Orion (RIP). I would wear them for an hour before going outside so that my eyes would adjust before heading out. Yeah, I look weird but they really work.
Yes it’s insanely long and if you ask me unfair 😁 in nature it makes perfect sense as in the evening we get used to dark slowly in the morning it’s often already light when we get up
Great tipp! Thank you. I have been using the same feature for years now. It is actually linked to the on/off button on the right side of the iPhone. When pressing it three times quickly you can activate and deactivate the red color tint as well.
the one I linked is not red only - in fact I would not recommend red only. My point was that the red light has to be directly accessible (without clicking through all the modes). I think the white light is very useful if you absolutely need light - for example if you see rain coming and you need to pack up as fast as possible!
I think you need one with both red and white. Like if bad weather comes out of nowhere in the middle of the night I need all that light to pack up quickly 😁
I did buy three of the type you suggested, and I’ve tried them out around the house, with taking out trash at night, etc…. They work very well in my tests so far, and I look forward to trying them out with my SeeStar S50. Thank you for the suggestion!
Thank you very much! This was a very helpful video.

@@marlisgarycarlson5525 that’s actually genius!
Super interesting!! I didn’t realize it took that long for eyes to dark adapt. Very cool double-tap-back iPhone feature!

That’s a cool shortcut trigger as well!
Well that iPhone setting was a very good tip ! Thanks !
I’m glad! I use it all the time now
Great video, thanks for the links, it’s challenging to find a headlamp that’s red only.

I had recently bought some red-only headlamps, and wasn’t very happy with them. This looks like it will be much better. Thank you!

Very good tip ✨👍
Glad you think so!
You're at ATHOS in La Palma and I'm stuck in the cloudy and light polluted UK. I'm jealous! ;)
La Palma is really on another level!
Your voice is like Spike Jonze in jackass when he plays the old woman 😁
I looked it up and I hate that I see what you mean 😭😂😂
