It borders on abusing the trust and openness of the children, distorting them into an existential deconstruct from the imagination of lonely and disconnected bourgeois-adult-‘artists’ desperately in search of meaning… and a little kindness.
There are plenty of boring choirs doing boring music for boring adults like you to feel self-satisfied that kids aren't doing anything interesting lest it "abuse" them by doing something that isn't boring. I wish so many adults wouldn't project their own insecurities and lack of imagination onto children.
