If it's MEANT for You to relocate here to Florida, then it WILL NOT be a Struggle....if you have to Force that door to open, then DON'T Do It.....God gives us Signs...Pay Attention.....Forcing an out come that is not meant to happen, never turns out well in the end.......that is Something that I learned the HARD way.....now I just PRAY about it and leave things in God's Hands.....and now things ALWAYS turn out for the best....maybe not how I wanted things to be, but always for the best....and in the end, I end up seeing that....and being Grateful....✌️💜💋

I can so relate to your house hunting struggles. We also had a hard time adjusting to the very different home styles , interior furnishings, etc. But it’s great that you have time and I’m sure you will find something amazing. In the meantime, Gracie is the best! ❤
Yes, dealing with all of the style differences, and so forth is a struggle. We are getting more and ready to embrace the "new", however...there are so few houses to even choose from! Slim pickins' The right thing will happen when it happens. I just need to be patient, which has never been one of my strengths. Ha!
It’s called being stressed and overtired. When things were at their worst with my Mum I remember going out and forgetting to clean my teeth or going out and forgetting to put jewellery on, which for me is like going out naked. Then there were many occasions when I was getting ready to go out and my mind was such a mess that I couldn’t remember if I had cleaned my teeth or done other things. It was like I was sleep walking. So try to make the time to rest, do things that relax you and be kind to yourself. I think the hardest lesson I had to learn was how to say no to people. But there are times when you just have to do that and they have to understand or you will fall into a heap and that’s not good for anyone.

When we first looked at homes in FL we could not get used to all the stucco! I thought it was so tacky! The homes all started to look the same. I told Scott we would have to put a flag on our mailbox to find it! But… we did get used to it and learned to love it over time. 😊Gotta love the lanais with the screened in pools and indoor-outdoor living. That was the BEST! Crossing my fingers… best of luck!
Crazy things here too! As a matter of fact I live where Hurricane Ian hit. So, yes! I've lost my mind!! My embarrassing moment was and my husband stated my poor blonde wife. He cut himself cleaning up tree debris and he came in and asked for a paper towel and hydrogen peroxide. I laid the paper towel down on the counter and sat the peroxide next to it. He said put the peroxide on the paper towel. So, I picked up the bottle and sat on the paper towel. I remember thinking why is he having me do that? Well, he meant for me to squirt the paper towel with peroxide. I told him he wasn't specific enough he should have said that!! Oy Vey!! 😵💫

My sister has foot issues and frequently wears slippers out, as long as you are not wearing pajamas at the same time you are good!
I was going to say, most people won’t even notice, and the ones that do could assume you had foot issues or just had foot surgery. You could even “pretend” limping while in the store! Ha ha

I can sure relate. When I do crazy stuff I tell my husband that I am working hard for my padded room! I at least want a pink padded room! You definitely do have a lot on your plate. Good luck with everything!
You had me laughing about the slippers. I live in Florida and wear blue jeans to church on Wednesday night and ended up wearing my house shoes/flip-flop-type sandals to church. I would never do that!! They were so comfortable I forgot to change. The colors of the leaves in your area of the country are so amazing! We don't get that much color change here. We have a hickory tree that the leaves turn yellow in December! I hope your move to Florida goes smoothly when it comes together. It will be so fun to see what all you find to do in central Florida.

Years ago in Retail Management, I finished my interviews around 8:30pm. The retail chain I worked for, was opening another location.
So I took my briefcase, raincoat and made it to my car in the Mall Parking lot, it was now pouring rain. I was exhausted and put the 3 ring binder on the roof of my car, and headed to the Garden State Parkway, living in New Jersey, we all know crazy highway. It runs north to south in the State.
So I look out my rear view mirror and see the papers all flying on the roof of my car. OMG, I tell myself, all the applications of the people I interviewed are all over the Parkway. We all know in N.J. The off and on ramps are often miles apart. I finally get off a ramp and figure out how to get back on the Parkway. Let’s not forget the median separating north and the south traffic😂😂. It is really Fun now, I park on the shoulder, it is poring rain now, I run across the highway and in the grassy/wet/dark median, I found my paperwork. I made it back to my car, I am wet to the bone, but I accomplished my mission.😂😂😂 lesson learned, I never put anything on my roof, above the driver’s door. It just makes me laugh. Listen Jennifer, wearing slippers out to runs errands, believe me🎉💃❤️🎉💃❤️ is Nothing!.
Side Bar, I can’t tell you how many people I see grocery shopping in their PJ’s and matching slippers, come to N. J. You will see it all👍
Stay where you’re at. Central Florida is the worst. Humidity and no ocean.
I've come close to doing that myself. We just get so used to running to the mailbox, etc. in our slippers and forget we are wearing them and not actual shoes.
It's funny, because I am running around today in my Uggs, and I keep thinking I'm wearing my slippers again. 😊

Jennifer we moved from Pennsylvania to Texas in 2020. We built a house so out of what we were use to up North. I am so happy we got out of our comfort zone & tried something new. What an adventure! Hope you find what will make you happy, Florida is definitely a different way of life than Illinois.
I have done the same thing. I went to my parents and we drove 45 minutes to go shopping. When I got out of the car, I realized I had my slippers on. My parents thought it was so funny.

I’m sure staff got a nice giggle and your slippers still looked very cute Jennifer! Decades ago when I lived in a high rise in downtown Chicago and late for class, I noticed the guy in elevator stare down at my feet and then look at me with a horrified look. Luckily, I then realized I had two different shoes on! One red and one black flat. OMG!! Was sooo embarrassed especially because the guy was in a white labcoat and likely a resident at Northwestern. Must have thought I lost my mind!! Thank goodness I was able to get back in my apartment and change before anyone else noticed!
I love you!! I lost it when you sat in your car and told us that you were wearing your slippers. That is so like something I would do. I’m retired now, but when I was working, I once showed up with my navy blue suit on, one green high heel shoe, and one blue lol.
In other news, I started intermittent fasting. The eating window that seems to work for me is 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm. I’ve been losing weight and feeling much more energetic. I picked up “Fast Feast Repeat” also. Thank you!
Gracie Is gorgeous. Is she Havanese? My little girl went nuts watching her on my TV. I took a picture but I don’t think I can attach it here. It’s very cute….she is standing on her hind legs with her front paws on the tv stand.

I drove to a business meeting and needed to stop for gas and when I got out, I had on my fuzzy purple slippers. I had to find a place to buy a quick pair of shoes. At least yours kinda matched your outfit! 😂

Thank you Cindy! Not sure anymore if we are moving anytime soon, or not, and the not knowing is kinda the worst part! But, all is basically good (or as it should be) so I just need to learn more patience and acceptance. It is what it is. Yes, it was nice that we got that quick getaway with the girls! We were literally there only 2 nights, but got A LOT done in that time. Gotta grab the chances to enjoy when you can, right? I hope all is well with you 💖

I went on a daytrip with my family. After over one hour on the road ( we also had a breakfast break) I realized I was wearing my slippers. So I had to spent the whole day in my slippers. Another time I still had my hanger in my ski jacket. I thought that something felt quite uncomfortable then someone pointed out, that I may have forgotten something. So you see, nothing to worry about. It's totally fine! Btw, you look great!

I love you. I am a Fl girl and you will miss your midwestern roots way too much to move here. I was brought up a Floridian and I don't mind missing leaves change. I like my climate warm. You have kids and family near you. Why move? You love where you live. That is everything.

It was not my first choice, either. However, my husband now works there, so we are hoping to find a place we like.
Jennifer, one morning I showed up to work in my ugg slippers, walked right out of the house in them. Another time I went to work with two completely different shoes on, it was dark in our entry way was my excuse for that time! 😂. I absolutely love the sunglasses that you’re wearing! I think it's hard when you are in an in-between part of life to feel "grounded" it's very understandable why you ended up with slippers at the eye dr....if anyone said anything I would just say I'm starting a trend and giggle...I walked all over walmart once with my zipper undone on my pants and not realizing it, and I kept wondering why people were looking at me funny-no one said a thing! I about died when I got home and realized it.
SO true! I don't know if we will even end up moving to FL anytime soon anymore, but the not knowing is the worst part! Oh my...your Walmart adventure... I don't know about you, but I would much prefer someone be kind enough to tell me about an issue (food in my teeth, zipper down, etc) than to let me walk around not knowing. Seems like the kinder thing to do. The good news is that I'm sure it wasn't gaping open and you weren't terribly "exposed"! 😆😘

Don’t worry you are not alone, I have left my house in my slippers more than I care to admit😮. Pro tip, I now keep a spare pair of shoes in my car😂. I love the way you love your grand doggie! So sweet! There is a channel you may enjoy if and when you have the time to check it out: (1 Bike 1 World) this Scottish man travels with his cat Nala.....just very endearing how he loves his cat! Now: a funny story (mishap) One time a had a couple of blemishes on my face and I knew NY models would use toothpaste. Well, I can use toothpaste too. So one evening I put some toothpaste (which was green gel) on my blemishes. The next day I get up and go walk my dog down the street. When I got back home I realized I had green on my face. I don't think anyone was close enough to me to actually see but cars did pass by. A green face or slippers .... you tell me. NO, you are not loosing your mind and don't even say it. Ive actually seen many people out wearing their PJs!!! The main difference ive noticed in Florida is many of the houses we looked at when we bought our home all had elevators which i found strange, however, i did get used to having one and can not see how i managed without one before! LOL!
I don't know if it's a "Florida" thing, or an Orlando area thing...but all the houses we see seem to have a very large wine cave, or glass doored, climate controlled wine storage area very prominently displayed in the living room/dining room area. Or large bars in the family room. I love a glass of wine here and there, I just don't need to have a room sized area to store and display it. We keep trying to figure out how to wall it off and make it a pantry or something. It's funny, because we are desperate for a place to store things like seasonal decor, the giant Christmas tree, luggage, etc. but the houses only have a place to store and display giant amounts of wine. Ha!
