    “Perhaps the foremost interpreter of Eastern disciplines for the contemporary West, Alan Watts had the rare gift of ‘writing beautifully the un-writable’. Watts begins with scholarship and intellect and proceeds with art and eloquence to the frontiers of the spirit. A fascinating entry into the deepest ways of knowing.” - Los Angeles Times

    “The physical world is diaphanous. It’s like music. When you play music, it simply disappears. There’s nothing left. And, for that very reason it is one of the highest and most spiritual of the arts, because it is the most transient.” - Alan Watts

    i listened to this on shrooms and the it put me deeeeep into my own history and the collective history or the collective consciousness of all humanity. i’ve never had music seem to literally transform the environment, the trees around me were bending with the sound and letting go and go and go and go. alan watts honestly scared me while it was happening but having experienced it i can now say in hindsight his guidance brought me into complete awareness of everything from Shakespeare to my own death, which all exists as one happening, only perceived as separate over the illusion of time, so precious

    I prefer this over the other exact meditation - the background Sound here makes It more Deep and effective for me at least. Thank you for putting this together 🙏🏼

    I wish he was still alive so I could ask him what he thought about some things. Like when you're tripping and it feels like you're on the edge of figuring out how the universe works and what/why we are and you can't quite grasp it; is that because your mind is in that state where thoughts are like the sounds when you're meditating in that you don't hold onto them?

    • @AlanWattsOrg
      @AlanWattsOrg  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Perhaps it's because when you're tripping, the universe is trying to figure you out as well! And once you've got the answer, the question ceases to exist. If our life is the question, then the answer might be deadly. ;)

      @@AlanWattsOrg That's basically how it feels in the moment 😂 It's enough that if you find yourself reflecting on it too much even just when your mind is wandering; you'll have to change your train of thought before you start having a panic attack. 😂 I don't think our ancestors would react that way, I think we've just grown that far from our beginnings. I was probably on the verge of reaching those Akashic records. 😂💀

      @@tenderlungs2065 We've merely changed the shape of the saber-toothed tiger. For some of us it's humiliation, for some commitment, for some deep water. You see, our ancestors had fear too, they just perhaps did a better job of fearing the tiger... not the fear.

    The "music" is very very distracting noice which makes it difficult to follow his discussion on sound. Obviously whoever attached this "music" did Not listen to what Alan is saying.
