Thank you for uploading these videos. I found your father’s speeches about 6 years ago and my life has changed so much that it’s almost unbelievable. No more worries, fears or concerns, I just trust the universe and enjoying this great show on earth that we call life.

His father's legacy was great but his legacy will be annoying overly long unnecessary introductions on these videos

The voice of Alan Watts is how I enjoy the end of nearly every night. For years and years his voice has led me and I hear something different or am led to think of his words differently. Also, he would appreciate my honesty when I say that most of the time I listen to him because it's simply entertaining to me. Selfishly, hearing him just makes me feel better....

Interesting observations. I don’t know how I lived to be 57 years old without this. I suppose we each have to find whatever helps us through this world of wonders & woe. While I found certain things illuminating & true; for me, there is so much more. Shalom

That's great to hear, good for you. Can I recommend Thich Nhat Hanh, too. His books like The art of living and Silence have helped me see myself and life in a different way.

The distinction Watts makes between different types of gurus is fascinating and sheds light on the complexities of spiritual guidance. It raises important questions about the nature of true liberation versus dependency on a spiritual leader. The idea that some gurus may inadvertently keep their followers trapped in a cycle of dependence is a crucial point. It prompts us to think critically about whom we choose to follow on our spiritual journeys. How can we ensure that our pursuit of spiritual knowledge leads to true autonomy rather than another form of addiction?

    You are the universe
to understand this is to dissolve the illusion of separation
Not abandoning individuality but seeing it for what it truly is
A unique expression of the whole
Just as every ocean wave is distinct yet inseparable from the water so too are you a distinct expression of the boundless energy that animates all of existence
When you see yourself as part of the greater whole your perspective shifts, life starts to become less about competition and more about cooperation, less about accumulation and more about contribution
To live from this awareness you must first let go of the false sense of control that comes from clinging to a rigid sense of self
The ego, the part of you that insists on being separate wants to define everything categorized everything and hold onto everything, it fears the flow of life because it fears loss, change and the unknown
The truth is that Life is not meant to be controlled or held onto but lived, experienced and surrendered to
The real you does not cling to the shore in fear but floats with the current trusting that the river knows it’s way, this surrender is not about giving up but letting go of resistance to the natural rhythm of life
When you stop fighting the current you start to move with it (effortlessly and joyfully)
You stop seeing change as something to fear and start seeing it’s a natural part of the dance of existence
The real you is not threatened by change because it knows that what is essential cannot be lost
The real you is the timeless presence that remains constant even though every thing around it shifts and transforms
    ❤ 🤤

Some might buy power but what about attaining it and having control over yourself ?

Dear Mark, i am all for freedom and modern tech too, but that latest AI lectures that appeared and
pretending to be works of your father, Alan Watts, is too much! Even for me. It should be forbidden
to generate AI text and voice without (at least) explicitly write in the title that it's AI. Here's
    one example:

Societies demand that we must live in a complicated way
But insecure societies are the most intolerable of others, they are so unsure of the validity of their game as to say “you must play”
Because you are required to do something which will be acceptable only if you do it voluntarily
And so everyone must play in the United States (republican-democratic government)
In this schema everyone is uneasy and that is because everyone is responsible
Therefore, rugged individualism always leads to conformism
Because when people get scared they herd together
The reasoning is that we have taken the mystic “all men are equal in the sight of God”
And turned it into the more practical “all men are equally inferior” (everyone is a crook)
This fragility turns into fascism by the terror of the “outsider”
For this reason the court fool is much more effective then the priest to remind the king that he is human
This is difficult for republicans to see because of the constant insecurity
“How ever far into the forest you may go men will pursue you and compel you to join their desperate company of odd fellows” -Thoreau
