    I’d add essential oils instead of fabric softener. Lavender, lemongrass, frankincense, whatever else your heart desires. You get excellent aroma without the chemicals!

    • @lastnamefirstname9043
      @lastnamefirstname9043 ปีที่แล้ว

      If there were no chemicals you'd be in a vacuum where it's impossible to smell anything. Everything is chemicals from the air you breathe to the water you drink. The distinction you're looking for is natural vs. artificial. Plenty of natural things can still kill you (snake venom, poisonous berries, anthrax etc) plenty of artificial/ man made chemicals are safe. All the "ingredients" for the artificial chemicals were sourced from the same earth but humans put them together in a way mother nature never has. essential oils don't come concentrated already in a vile straight off the plant in nature so where is the line drawn?

    • @Ana-rb7ws
      @Ana-rb7ws ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@lastnamefirstname9043 I wasn’t using the word “chemical” in the technical way that you did. I simply meant artificial. It was meant to be a comment people can easily comprehend. All the things you mentioned are true, but not commonly applied in casual situations such as in a TH-cam comment.

      Lisa, there are laundry detergents and softener for people that are sensitive to fragrances. I can't even walk down the laundry/cleaning isle at the stores because of the STRONG scents they use and all the chemicals. I have been shopping at an awesome online store with tons of items that are either fragrance free or is scented with essential oils only. Let me know if you're interested, I'll make sure to send you the website and or a little video so you can see what the online store is and about their products. Stay well! 💜

    • @kkilljoy3588
      @kkilljoy3588 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Weirdly…..yes it does. Ever smelled the very rich or a celebrity up close?
      They smell way better than a normal person I swear.
      I have 2 theories (totally theories, I don’t know why they smell so much better):
      1. Low to zero stress means no cortisol released. You can smell cortisol in someone’s sweat and it’s an evolutionary turn-off.
      We are more attracted to people who are not stressed out - they are better mates, produce better offspring, make better friends, stress us out less.
      2. They never labor. They never produce the type of stinky sweat from real labor.
      3. Nervous sweat has it’s own special pungent smell - I highly doubt the v rich get the type of nervous us normal folks do.
      Most of our “nerves” comes from concern about being judged or rejected - they are generally “on top” in situations, therefore perhaps never producing nervous sweat at all.

    • @kkilljoy3588
      @kkilljoy3588 ปีที่แล้ว

      Follow up note: this is v much a BODY ODOR comment though, not a home odor comment.
      Which is obv unrelated to the content of this short - but is in response to the seeming topic of your comment in that the very rich DO smell better.

    Hi! I have a few questions ~
    1) do you leave the cinnamon sticks burning all the time or blow them out when done or…?
    2) what happens when the cinnamon sticks are burned down to the salt? Do you pull the sticks up some or replace them or…?
    3) when is it necessary to just toss it all and start over?
    Thanks for the great videos! I’m a new subscriber 😊
    Oops! One more thing…can you back up the camera some? It cuts off the instructions and the ingredient amount. We shouldn’t have to just guess at the amounts, right? What’s the point of sharing the video if we can’t see the most important part, so we can try it ourselves? Hope this helps a bit!

      Or for the animals to spill and not be able to clean up!! I used to use wax burners and then I had one of my animals topple ine over on herself and She got wax all over herself from head to the tip of her tail! I had to take a small tooth comb to try to get the wax out but she wound up with a ball patch for the longest time until her hair grew back! So, from that point on I have not had a wax burner in my house.
      My mom used to buy small sponges, if she couldn't find the small sponges at the store she would cut a regular size sponge into four pieces, and she would put it inside a small butter container and then she would put ammonia in it enough to cover the sponge and it would absorb all the smells even cigarette smells. She didn't have any animals though. But I always thought that it would make the house smell like ammonia and I was so wrong.

      WHAT DID SHE DO? BURN THE OILS? WHY WOULD IT TAKE THE LIVES OF HER COMPANION ANIMALS?🥺🤔😡 BECAUSE SHE LEFT SOMETHING BURNING UNATTENDED WHILE SHE WAS OUT? SO YOUR MOTHER’S STUPIDITY AND RECKLESSNESS COST THE LIVES OF INNOCENT BEINGS. SHE IS ALIVE SO WHERE WAS SHE WHILE THESE ANIMALS PERISHED??? 👎😡 IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS.
      COMMON SENSE WILL DICTATE THAT BURNING FLAMES OF CANDLES, OILS, GAS/WOOD STOVES OR FIREPLACES CAUSES FIRES. (GAS CAUSES EXPLOSIONS). THIS IS SOMETHING THEY TEACH 3 YEAR OLDS ABOUT PLAYING WITH MATCHES. IT APPEARS YOUR MOTHER MISSED HER “LESSON” THAT DAY. 🤔

    Are we supposed to leave the cinnamon sticks to burn down? What happens when we want to go out? Do we wet the cinnamon sticks to put them out? If so, it's impossible to get them started again. Can we then use them in cooking, provided of course, that we follow some of the healthier suggestions here instead of soaking them in fabric softener. (Not essential oils, though -- those can't be ingested).

    The quickest way to make your house smell fresh is 2 fabric softener sheets like snuggle or downy on the backside of a box fan. Turn it on high and your house is fresh in minutes. You can also place one over the heat.register where your heat.comes out if you are in a pinch! 🎉

      I don't think lit them for a continuous burn cause that wouldn't be safe at all when setting them in a bowl w/ a couple caps of flammable fabric softener. I believe she just burnt the ends to better release the cinnamon smell. But I agree w/ some people's suggestion to instead substitute the fabric softener w/ essential oils.
