I'm french and 30, my first football memory is when we won the 98 world cup and I was 5. I don't remember the game but I remember how the grown ups would praise Zidane for being an artist. That's what got me into football. I am glad to see that in France the younger generation who never got to see him play keep mentionning him as the greatest of all time. His highlights on youtube keep inspiring the youth and that's what makes him different. He didn't only put his mark on his era but on football history and legacy.

Zidane really was outstanding. I think it's the effortlessness of what he did. Making everything seem so easy when it definitely was not! Greatest midfielder ever!!
