I had a 450 nighthawk and I love that machine, had to sell it to help my parents out to pay bills, but now that is over,I'm 54 now would love to own that bike again.
i had one back in 1988. I drag raced it at Summit Motorsports park in Norwalk,Oh. Every Wed. night. softened the suspension and i would dump the clutch at 10,000rpm and it just took off. barely spun never wheelied and run mid to low 13's all night long then i rode it 30 miles home. It was my only transportation that summer. Cruisn on the weekend i would stiffen up the rear shock settings and do 50ft long burnouts. while watching the tach hit 13,000 rpms all the time! ( redline was like 10,500rpm) I went through 2 dunlops and 2 stators in one summer. I literally beat the crap out of it. And it took it! Not to mention scraping the pegs on backroads trying to keep up with the guys on Gsxrs and fzrs. Lol good times!
Man does that bring back some good memories for me! That same bike was my second ride when I was younger. I'm 66 now and just bought a 2020 Versys 650 but it doesn't come close to the exciting, exhilaration I got from my '82 Nighthawk. Even my 84 GPz 900 didn't give me that "feeling" of boosting down the blacktop in the Honda Nighthawk. Thank you so much for sharing this video. Love it!
Wow I had that exact same bike but mine was blue,ran excellent never had any problems with it even though i hammered on it daily!! Young and dumb😁solid bike for sure👍👍
I had the same exact bike ( in blue) in 1982. The shop I had it in, in 85 burnt to the ground and I lost my bike. The owner gave me a new V65 Saber as a replacement. I still miss my Night Hawk!
Sure is a clean looking machine. I always like those older ones with the four exhaust pipes and that paint scheme.. a couple years ago I picked up a black 1992 Nighthawk 750 with only 10,000 mi and I'm enjoying it very much

My parents bought me a 84 Nighthawk 550 for high school graduation !! Guess who I bought it from. The actual salesman who helped me , Mike Larocco’s dad !! Yep , I graduated in la Porte High school. Years later , a mike larocco from Indiana emerged on the scene. When I seen his dad on tv , I was like that’s who sold me my bike !! Those nighthawks were fun and fast. And my 84 had shaft drive. I see that one is chain. Should’ve took it to 9 grand in at least one gear , oh the joy.
My first road bike. Bought it with 83 miles on it someone traded it for a new Harley Davidson. They bought it then rode it from Butte Mt to the Harley Davidson dealership in Helena mt and traded it for a Harley. I got a lone from the bank somehow and never regretted it. Had the bike for years till my girlfriend talked me into trading it for my first car, i should have kept the bike and traded her...🤔 anyway it was the exact same bike as that one. I loved it so much i bought a 2014 cb1100 stranded and i have to say I'm going to keep this one. 2 days after i bought the 2014 i was standing in a parking lot just outside of town and some one pulled up on my 82 nighthawk 😲😲😲 what are the odds? Hadn't seen it in 30 plus years and there it was sitting next to my new replacement for it... who would have thunk it?... who ever gets that bike is going to love it.
I just bought a turd and remade it. Good lord did the thing have grounding issues left and right 😂 I’m glad a life long rider recommended this classic to me :)
Looks great. After I rebuilt my 1980 cb750k over the past year, I was looking for some raised white letter tires to put on. I wanted to go with the bridgestone spitfire but I found out that they no longer make the rear tire in white lettering. So I just went with some blk letter shinkos. But those dunlops look great on that bike.
Oh my gawd, I owned this exact bike! 😳 I don’t even know where I found this bike when I was 20, and bought it in 1985, but I brought it home and freaked my dad out because he was always a dick and wouldn’t let me drive his 1978 Honda 350, so I told him I bought a better bike for myself. Had this thing shipped from Chicago to California in 1986 when I moved there, and it helped define me as a young man with a newfound freedom l found on the bike rolling through the San Francisco/Bay Area hills. Thank you so much for this video. I wish I would’ve known about it two years ago, I would’ve loved to have bought it.
When honda built dreams,,extremely solid reliable dreams,,no plastic junk or push rod motors,they used to build incredibly solid insane abuse proof machines,,old Honda's where so solid people today do not know how good honda once was,

I remember that bike, I almost bought one new, I ended up getting new 1981 Suzuki GS850G instead. Suzuki was a blast.
