    Always enjoy your aviation videos! As an aviation enthusiast and private pilot, I don't have the luxury to fly near as often as you do. Thanks for taking us along with you on your flights. Always fun to see the different parts of the country and the beautiful scenery!

      I'm glad you enjoy them my friend. As a private pilot myself, I can tell you that my license and proficiency in skills have greatly suffered as a result of me flying commercial so much haha. I don't have any money left to rent the planes or pay for instructors haha.

    Unusual approach. Every time I've landed at Hilo, the approach was over the bay and right over downtown. It can dramatic with the sharp banking just a few hundred feet above the ground.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  ปีที่แล้ว

      And in my case, I've had this approach every time I've flown to Hilo except once haha. I don't know if this is the case or not, but for whatever reasons it seems Hawaiian often uses the approach you mentioned more. The Hawaiian 717 that landed just after us used that approach and so did the next one coming in behind it. We however used the opposite approach, and I've done that same approach on Southwest before.

    What it like to fly on B737M compared to B737NG??

    • @sla31
      @sla31  ปีที่แล้ว

      Much much quieter. The Max and the Airbus A320 NEO for that matter, are both incredibly quiet compared to their previous versions.

      Ideally tomorrow. Monday April 30th, but I got home at 2:00am this morning and I'm replying to comment while Final Cut Pro is importing footage. So, it depends on how long it takes me to edit today.

      @@sla31 How did you get home at 2 AM? Was there a flight that has an overnight flight schedule?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RoadsOfAsiaBen no. I flew from HNL-PHX. We were delayed leaving HNL about 45 minutes but originally scheduled to depart at 8:25am. Landed in Phoenix at around 6:30pm. Connected to a flight from PHX-TUL that was originally scheduled to leave at 6:40pm but thankfully Southwest held a lot of flights for the connections on our HNL flight since they were the last of the day. So we ended up leaving PHX at about 7:20.pm. Then landed in Tulsa around 11:30pm. It was around 111:50 by the time I got to buy care and it then takes me 1.5 hours to drive home and by the time I stopped to get some food it was about 1:45am when I got home.

    Why the long taxi to the runway to take off ??

    • @sla31
      @sla31  ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the runway close to the terminal is closed for reconstruction.

    Did u hear that South west is America's worst airline. I dont believe it. How is it the worst airline

    • @sla31
      @sla31  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did see that. And here's why. Because that metric is mostly rated on customer complaints. And you know what Southwest had happen several times this year? Major system outages that then led to major disruptions of their network. And do you know when one of these happened? Right during the holidays. You know what makes people really angry? Having their holiday time with friends and family disrupted. Southwest had several of these events happen last year including the one around Christmas that lasted over a week. That leads to a lot of consumer complaints, and as much as I love Southwest, these people were not wrong for complaining. Southwest, and they have said this themselves, failed those customers. So, that all said, I love Southwest. They are nowhere near the worst airline to fly in the US, so I believe this is an anomaly that will correct itself.
