I like the new "timestamp" thing at the start of the video, telling us when each segment starts. I mean *of course* I'm going to watch the whole thing start to finish. But it's a nice bit of production polish.

I like the silicon. It's fatter and it sounds warmer. (Generally, germanium fuzzes sound warmer, but I think in this case silicon is better in that).
I like the germanium one better. The silicon one has some sort of sterile quality to it.
I am a HUGE fan of the original germanium FF...BUT I have to say I really like the silicon one on guitar...its a slightly different flavour - its a bit fatter and it seems to cut through a bit better in a band situation...I like them both but I'm a fan of the new one
ZVEX is definitely doing it right by not replacing the original but adding the alternative FF styles along side the original.
Before this video, I wasn't interested in the least for the silicon FF. But now I want to at least try it in my rig.
How does the silicon fuzz factory compare to the mastotron? Seems like it might be the middle ground between the mastotron and the germanium fuzz factory.

The vertical Germanium Fuzz Factory is exactly the same as the horizontal one...it's just vertical.
We did a video of the original FF a while ago...I'm sure you can find it on our channel

The Silicon I like better.
SIlicon sounds well but there is something wrong with the germanium one, I've never heard one with such a tiny sound, no bass no highs only medium frequencies. It sounds (and looks) like a bad clone. Maybe wrong germanium transistors.
