    You just wouldn't know how useful this video was to me. I finally repaired the handles of two portable Phillips turntables that belonged each to one of my two grandfathers. Thanks Jerry.

    Handle repairs always end up being a pain. Especially getting behind the padding. Great job Jerry.

    Great work as usual...Very useful tips.
    btw, the best part of the video was, of course, the "paint it black" sequence....

    Great video Jerry. Time to do the hande repair I've been putting off. I should have thought of using a hot nail on webbing years ago. The addition of the paint was a nice, professional .touch

    great job jerry i was wondering if there's any way to repair a case latch that wont snap tight anymore . it 's just always loose. maybe replace the whole latch? love all the videos. im addicted.

    • @RosaStringWorks

      If I had a suggestion I would offer it. Unfortunately I don't. I would probably say replace the whole latch as you said.

    Great repair Jerry! I use a 40 watt soldering iron to melt holes in plastic. You may have a lip to trim, but works as good as a hot nail. Was there a liner in the case? Thankz

    • @RosaStringWorks
      @RosaStringWorks  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Audio Tech Labs thanks for taking a look. No liner.

    A soldering iron works much better for this kind of strap work. you can melt the ends up on the shank portion of the iron, while the soldering tip pokes the holes nicely. Keep a chunk of steel wool stapled to a block of wood to wipe the soldering iron off so it doesn't fill the room with smoke. Learned from 20+ years in the custom ortho brace making industry

    • @RosaStringWorks
      @RosaStringWorks  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TgWags69 I'm sure that would work awesome. However my soldering iron went in the trash a week or so ago. Thanks for watching.

    • @TgWags69
      @TgWags69 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It tends to burn them up fast using them for melting straps. So we usually just buy the cheap ones from Harbor freight and pretty much figure they are disposable. you can also run a die onto a long copper rivet or even thick copper wire to make your own custom size tips too. But I've resorted to using a nail plenty of times myself when the iron calls it quits. Good job on the fix by the way

      @2tallB 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      TgWags69 I like the steel wood on wood idea. And the cheap iron 👍🏼
