LOL, the more things change the more they stay the same...I have a 1998 Ranger and in Winter I have to either let it sit for 20 minutes to get warm enough to defrost the windshield or go ahead and take off and by the time I get to town 3 miles away, the temp gauge will just be starting to get up to "normal", LOL! That turn signal lever on the column looks like one of those "universal" ones they had in the JC Whitney catalogues when I was a kid. I'd see if I could find an original oil bath air cleaner for that carb. Looks like a sweet old truck! Seeing that alternator I assume it's been converted to 12v? I bet it makes it easier to start anyhow, lol.
Yes, because there were no turn signals at the time the only option was to add on an external lever. It was my dad's truck, which he went overboard on restoring, then said it turned out way too nice for him to use so he sold it on BAT. He already has a restored 1940 FORD Woodie Wagon, 57 Chevy Wagon, 41 FORD 3/4 ton stake bed truck, 41 FORD panel truck, 1939 9N tractor, 1948 8N with a flathead V8 conversion and my mom has a 68 442 convertible. So they have enough old vehicles from which to choose. I've got a couple of old vettes and a GTO
Translation: Simply beautiful, I would love to be able to drive a pickup truck as well as the model Ford, it's an impossible dream. Greetings from Chile Thank you, it was one of my father's trucks, he recently sold it. He had restored it and then decided it was too nice to use as a work truck.
The 239 is cold natured ... FYI engine color is supposed to be a burgundy color. .. buick 1940s engine color for straight 8 deep burgundy will be close match For correct engine color for this truck
@@TheJagjr4450 I saw the color of the engine and instantly knew it was the merc with the longer stroke. I have a 49 too. Barn farm truck. This is pretty nice.
Beautiful truck.
I welded patches in the fenders and painted it, my dad did everythign else

Man, I wish mine was running that good.
My dad builds 5-7 Flatheads a year, for himself or for other guys. He has 3 or 4 V8 Flathead powered cars and trucks, and he drives them often.

For correct engine color for this truck
IT has a Mercury stroker engine which is why it is gold/bronze.

How much was glass
Flat Safety Glass is not very expensive, being flat it's not anywhere near the cost of molded safety glass.
