Aren't we Bengoli ppl fishetarians! I lived out of west Bengal most of my life and i never met a Bengoli who doesn't eat fish except for few elders in deep sadhana and devotion. Fabulous variations of Bengali food and love the way everything is cooked in mustard oil to keep that fragrance and keeping it absolute bong......one thing I would like to add upon .......As far as bhetki paturi is concerned, i hope the bones have been taken out and thereafter the fish is used.........that's the main thing in paturi......be it any fish.....bhetki or ilish.......u tk out the fine bones, thereafter mix it with the prepared spices and masala.........
