    I was thinking about designing something like this.... I had the idea for a WiFi gun safe so you can know if your kids got into it. I'm glad I looked this up, you guys have a great design.

    How are you supposed to charge it if you mount it to a wall? Or even in a wall? Isn’t the charger port on the back? Is there a separate charger you can buy for the battery to charge outside of the vault?

    Excellent review, as always. Been looking at this one. It is pricey. Vaultek does appear to be pretty proud of this safe, as it never seems to go on sale. Was hoping for a code at the end of your video.

      @@ChrispyThings Thanks! I have been wanting to buy one for a while. Figured I'd hold out for a Presidents Day Sale. Once I coincidentally saw your review, I figured I'd bite the bullet. I found OpticsPlanet.com. They have it for $559, which is a little better than the $599 list price, + you can get an extra 10% off today using code POTUS. It is the best deal I have found, so I bought one. Hope it is a reputable online retailer. Thanks again for the review.

    I loved the review. Thank you. How reliable is the app? Especially when it comes to getting notifications if the safe is tampered or opened when you’re not home? The reviews for the app are really bad so your experience would be great!

    • @ChrispyThings
      @ChrispyThings  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The notifications come through great. Very fast. Even if I bump the table it alerts me that there’s a tamper warning if I have the sensitivity turned all the way up.
      But. Getting the app to pair with the safe is a huge pain. Sometimes it takes multiple tries.
      And right now it unpaired from my app and I can’t get it to reconnect.
      So there’s that…

    • @Gilster85
      @Gilster85 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChrispyThings Don’t you just need to pair it once when you first get it? Bluetooth I would expect to have to pair each time you connect but not wifi. Why is it that you have to continue pairing it?

    • @ChrispyThings
      @ChrispyThings  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Gilster85 As I mentioned it unpaired from the app.

    they should add another charging port to the front or top.

    • @ChrispyThings
      @ChrispyThings  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rich A. I was thinking about the location of the charge port yesterday. I was thinking maybe the back so it wasn’t sticking out of the side, but then what if you wanted to hard mount it to a wall? So that’s a no. I disagree with the top just for aesthetics alone. The front wouldn’t really make sense because the door takes up all the space and would swing open with it. So I guess the side is the logical choice.

    • @davidmoltrup51
      @davidmoltrup51 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I plan to get a 90° USB charging cable. Then some clips to route the cable along the side of the safe for better wire management.
      And yes.. that is the correct use of the word 'clip'. 🤣

    • @miles267
      @miles267 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which side of the safe is the micro-usb port on? I might as well order a 90 degree cable now for charging.

    Opted for non-biometric. Biometric unreliable.
