Mahouka's world magic works mostly in the similar way how a car engine works or how an aeroplane engime works.
There are process from one to the next one. Much like an engine 😅.
So you could say that magic engineers is something like a combination of all 4 engineering courses into 1 plus another 1 bonus. The three are "electrical engineers", "mechanical engineers", and even "civil engineers" as well as "network engineers" plus bonus of "software programing". And it is true since there are things like magic circuit. Weapons that is programme more than one. Magical capacity that determined by brain function which is something like computer's CPU. Programming the long incantation that was shorten by devices they have into the device. Well I think that long incantation that shorten by the device is something similar to Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha in a way. All they have to do is to push a few buttons which something like a password for the device to read the long incantation, and put their magical energy into it and let the magic do their miracle.
Meanwhile in Kenja no Mago. They still believe in strong incantation spells can lead to strong magic. But it was Shin, who was the one that change all that. The simple concept yet hard to perceived is that, visualize the imagination. Imagination is the key to use powerful spells. For Shin who was from modern day, he has knowledge of the elements, so he was able to visualize it. So that's why he can use more advanced magic type that never being seen by anyone there which also for them it is both weird and suprising.
In Tatsuya's world, magic is systematic and is strictly defined, while in Shin's world it is all left to the individual's control and imagination. But there are also differences in the way magic works for both worlds. In Tatsuya's world, magic comes from psions released by the human brain, while in Shin's world magic is all around and has to be concentratred by the user's will to use it. It is an interesting parallel since Shin's way of using magic by picturing the process is similar to Tatsuya's, but since the 2 worlds are so different I think there is no further comparison to be made.

According to the Guide, the main thing that flying requires is the ability to throw yourself at the ground and miss. It says to throw yourself forward with all your weight and "the willingness not to mind that it's going to hurt", however it will surely hurt if you fail to miss the ground.

Hey, in his defense he saw someone else do it first. So he didn't create flying magic he just copied it XD
to be more exact it's half true half false it's right that because an enemy was flying his idea was more or less "i see that's possible" but the enemy never give him any data on how to do this so he really " re created" the spell to fly using his own knowledge so technicaly he created a way to fly with magic it's just that he is not the first creator!
To be fair, you don't need to make anything extraordinary like gravity magic to pull this off. Literally any type of force capable of accelerating you 9.81m/s^2 upwards will do.
That'll just neutralize the gravity force since it's just the exact same acceleration as gravity itself. You need to increase it a bit to really fly upwards
@@adrianc2463Or you just add propulsion since gravity is canceled out. You can hold onto a fan (running on batteries) and you can control how far up/down or side to side you go.
The 2D part of him flying is the point of view of the people watching from the ground. 😂
there's a super easy way for him to teach them the visualisation they need.
just make some gymnastic poles where they can be strung upside down (hanging by their knees) like bats and give them a rock and tell them to "drop it" when their perspective is inverted

It's a fantasy world with magic which means there's healing spell and knowing shin he will probably use that to heal his aging cells and make them good as new and use new magic he created to enchant something and wear it all the time or use the cell heal spell every few years.

This is just a theory but I think what he meant is, he made himself more bouyant. You really can't counter act gravity. But you can get around it by taking advantage of bouyancy. As long as you are less dense than the material around you, you will float. Just like how a plastic spoon floats on water, but a steel spoon sinks. My theory is, shin made himself more bouyant by making his density lesser than the density of the air around him.
Thats why this is my favorite anime

That scene when he took over from sicily n healed that fatal wound of that patient... i think i can guess how he did it...
He had knowledge of human anatomy. Or atleast, a basic understanding of it. He had a rough idea of which organs did what n so forth. He said “fix one at a time” or somthing like that, so he prioritized which organs needed healing first,, so as to stabilize the patients body. Where sicily tried to fix everything at once, shin stabilized the body by fixing the more critical organs first.
Does he teach sicily about the human anatomy and emergency medical aid after this or in the VN? Coz i understand how his “visualization” of magic works very different than whats considered “normal” in this world.

I'll always find it weird if any production decides to just treat flight as some kind of hack or cheat when the hero unlocks it. I'll find it even weirder when the production makes up a convoluted and ridiculously stupid excuse based on the world's concept of magic/technology for why no one's come up with stable non-buoyant flight (lookin at you, Mahouka and Haifuri).
