The ammo and belt are military. The velcro places it after the mid-70s, when velcro started being used by the military. As the ammo is 5.56 that places it after the mid-80s when the military fell on their heads and moved from the 7.62 L1A1 rifle to the 5.56 SA80. The non-bullet thing you pulled out is a loading tool, used to load multiple rounds into the magazine quickly and with blistering thumbs.
I've known a couple of squaddies who accidentally brought rounds home after packing them in their kit and forgetting they were there, so maybe the same happened here and didn't want to deal with the hassle of explaining to his CO and just dumped them in the river.
The ammunition was 5.56 NATO as used in the British Army SA80. It was in its bandolier, you get 5 bandoliers in an ammo box, 30 rounds in each pocket totaling 150 rounds per bandolier.
A homemade gun could be made to fire 5.56 or any other caliber. Just because you have some 5.56 ammo does not connect it to an automatic type of weapon. Some bolt action rifles are chambered in 5.56 NATO too.

The hand gun if it is a blank firer may still be regarded as a potential firearm in the uk as some can be reverse engineered into viable weapons for crime use. Jack Stephens I had to laugh you guy's can't even have a knife is this true? You guy's have no possible way to defend your selves basically your slaves to your government can't believe it!
no we cant have a knife to walk around the street with, for obvious fucking reasons, we dont need guns, we have done fine for years without them, still doesnt mean that people cant get guns, if you have no criminal record, you have a good legal reason to use it, you can often get a license for some rifles/ shotguns and very rarely pistols. but unlike your government and police etc, we actually know who to give them too so we dont have people running round the streets or in schools shooting every bastard they see. you can talk about how we dont have a gun to defend ourselfs but people have been shot by people in england before, and may i just say that if you went outside with no gun and you get shot in the head, you would have nothing to defend yourself ,you'd just die, its exactly the reason we dont need guns given to random people who get one just because they feel like it

Find some ammo and the Police turn up. Near neighbours house gets burgled and it's four days before they appear.
God knows what we would find if we were able to drain all the water from canals

yeah it's 5.56x45, standard rounds in the British army(in the sa80 rifle)
Surprised you guys didn't burst into flames, touching a firearm and all.
A fairy dies every time someone mentions that word over here :D
We can legally own AR-15s and revolvers over here, Its ordinary pistols they have a problem with.
RedAndWhiteKopite funny because AR-15s and pump shotguns are banned in Australia but pistols are completely legal with a sporting license
RedAndWhiteKopite actually, you can own semi auto rifles up to a .22lr.
EraseMeWhole just saying man there are over 400,000 gun owners and over 1 million illegally owned guns don’t think we have a spasm or get offended when we here the word gun
That pouch is called a bandolier. 5.56 nato rounds. The plastic thing in with the bandolier looked like a magazine protector.
in poland it would be already in a police car for such a subject such a sick law we have in PL
Zielona mila what do you mean mate? Do you mean they would arrest the guys who found it?
thats a 5.56mm bandolear. Each pouch holds 3 strips of 10 rounds to be used with a speed loader when loading the SA80 mags

Can I suggest to you boys that you get yourself informed about guns and their constituent parts. They are not to be messed with and should be handled in a specific way. You are doing a great service to the public and the police. This shows how little the criminals think about the damage which could be done, by their careless actions.
Oi m8 you got a loicense for fishing?
U guys amazing from MALAYSIA
Police probably never seen a gun before
When u go missing it’s because your pulling out stuff that’s meant to stay missing 😂🙏🏻
The UK public is so uneducated with guns and amunition ...
Google our gun laws, then you will find out why. And not all of us are some of us are just as educated as in the states
Jack Stephens I had to laugh you guy's can't even have a knife is this true? You guy's have no possible way to defend your selves basically your slaves to your government can't believe it!
no we cant have a knife to walk around the street with, for obvious fucking reasons, we dont need guns, we have done fine for years without them, still doesnt mean that people cant get guns, if you have no criminal record, you have a good legal reason to use it, you can often get a license for some rifles/ shotguns and very rarely pistols.
but unlike your government and police etc, we actually know who to give them too so we dont have people running round the streets or in schools shooting every bastard they see. you can talk about how we dont have a gun to defend ourselfs but people have been shot by people in england before, and may i just say that if you went outside with no gun and you get shot in the head, you would have nothing to defend yourself ,you'd just die, its exactly the reason we dont need guns given to random people who get one just because they feel like it
Artizan I live in Australia lol we don't have school shootings because we have a much better controll over who gets firearms, but we have millions of them in every state in Australia we have a healthy gun culture. Don't believe what you hear in the media about Australia and guns it's mostly untrue...
I live in Australia too buddy and your talking right out your ass mate 😂
That's a WW2 bandolier with either 303 Enfield or 30cal depending if it was English or American.
You guys need yo practice fire arm safety .always point the barrel away from the public/civilisation
1:40.....what a gent! Dont have to share someones beliefs to respect them.
Washes gun... Haha any evidence on it is definetly Gone
It was already in the river and before you say it was in a bag it was covered in mud
Can sometimes still get something especially on a semi auto pistol even if it is a blank
How very interesting!
Put the pistol down, you have no idea what you’re doing
SamC94 at least he didn't have his finger near the trigger, but even in such a state you don't know if it will discharge unexpectedly.
Giraffe Boy it won't 😂😂😂😂😂
dustisdeadbodies85 let me correct him:
It is extremely unlikely to discharge as ammunition isn't technically waterproof and wet powder doesn't burn. Also it's highly unlikely to discharge a live round anyway, since the weren't slapping it around.
Donnie Oliver yeah, he's a fucking prick.
Wtf he's not a prick. He's just stating some firearm safety.
