I had one of these thrown at me this week. PSO operator. From watching it run all over me, back up and run over me again, I think they've got a winner. Very continuous in my opponent's hands.
I got to see it close up last week in League when the guy I was bowling with as a sub...He obviously had a connection...He threw it in game 1 and had to get out of it because it was too clean, but then came back to it game 3 and went front 8!! It shaped perfectly, after he and I put down some transition.
I just got back from rolling the phaze ai on my local center's house shot. It looks great! We'll have to see how it does in league next Wednesday. League trio: #1 Magic gem #2 Optimum idol #3 Optimum idol pearl
I just noticed Zach has a pretty significant dropped ring finger. It almost looks like a CLT but the opposite direction. Is that just a comfort thing developed from trial and error with fitting?
I've gotta be an anomaly because I can ONLY use shiny bowling balls, my rev rate is high/ball speed about 15ish and I play steep angles so that's maybe why. But I literally have to see some kind of shine on a ball before it's even remotely usable, basically reverse of this vid's sentiments. quality vid and info, regardless
I meant factory shine, not shine in general. Usually balls come ultra shiny from the factory so they look prettier on the wall in the pro shop. I usually let my stuff lane shine, or just shine up from use. Factory shined stuff can be inconsistent or over/under, but I'm not arguing against any and all kinds of shine at all.
I believe a “#1” ball would be your big strong early rolling ball you would throw on the fresh and #2 would be the ball you switch to next and then so on
That's a little tricky, because generally lower rev bowlers need help in the shape department, but the more shape you get, the less wet/dry blend you get. I'd say something like Radical's new Zig Zag Solid or Track's Criterion are in the conversation, stronger asyms that aren't TOO strong, and both have some shape but aren't super fast if you want to check those out, I have recent reviews up for both of them.
I love my AI. But I wish they would change up the wording on it. Everyone keeps saying that it’s a pearl P2. While yes that’s correct they need to say it’s a stronger Journey. I just drilled a new Journey last month as I loved that ball. And side by side with the same layout they’re maybe 1-2 different. Same cover, different core and without AI. But no one markets it that way because 3/4 of people hated the journey and got discontinued after 6 months. If you didn’t like the journey you’re not magically gonna like this.
Yeah that's why I've made that point several times in the handful of videos I've done on it, it was even one of the comparison balls on my first review with Tobias. It does share significantly more in common with the Phaze 2 than it does the Journey, being same cover, same core. I get your point though, which is why I've gone both directions.
That's just not correct. You should use whatever surface the ball works best for you at. If you pigeonhole yourself into thinking solids need to have surface and pearls need to be shiny, that's just not a very productive or successful way to think. The pros sand pearls and shine up solids all the time.

Saw a guy up close bowl against us 2 weeks ago… he used it all 3 games and shot 690😂

League trio:
#1 Magic gem
#2 Optimum idol
#3 Optimum idol pearl
I shot my highest series in league with it on Wednesday night out of the box. One of my new fav balls 🤷♂
I love the way this ball looks. The versatility will be fanatic but just too much overlap with my Marvel P and there is no reason for me to replace it

Looks like a baby Sarge Easter. Generally used to reduce write or grip pain.
I think it's just a general fitting thing.
Sarge Easter would have the ring finger as a conventional grip so you wouldn’t have a finger insert
I’d love to see it up against the OG Zen
Eh, Zen is earlier and more arcy, this one hasn't seemed to be that great so far.
Thanks for saving me $ i will just drill the extra p3 i have sitting around

@@LukeRosdahl ahh ok I understand
What are #2 balls?
I believe a “#1” ball would be your big strong early rolling ball you would throw on the fresh and #2 would be the ball you switch to next and then so on
Mostly storm equipment lmao
I see what you did there lol
@@LukeRosdahl it's the low hanging fruit of jokes, which ironically may be a scent of theirs
Flip the AI Upside down and you got VI
What's the best wet-dry ball on the market for low rev bowlers?

Hit a pearl with a 3.000 pad? Well thats not what you should do… use another polish then
