  • So I had an ABS code for the right rear speed sensor I attempted to replace it to no avail. I ended up swapping the hub as well and that fixed my issue. However, I had a weird noise that I would hear when the ABS light was on. If I reset the code and drove you wouldn’t hear the light. After replacing the hub the sound was fixed

Just came across this problem a few days ago. I'm going to replace this today when it warms up a bit outside.
Thank you so much for your video.

So did the new hub fix the issue?

taking it off is pretty easy but putting it back is the hard part if you dont memorize each pin you pulled out...

The colors do not matter as they go to the ABS sensor and follow it from there.
Note; The magnetic portion that causes this issue is serviced with the hub. It may have rust or other fine magnet Ferris materials stuck to the flat radial magnet which needs inspected for debris be continuing to guess. The magnet speed generator target is sold with the hub and is the problem 98% of the time. Segments of this circular magnet can break off and fall off. On the Tech-2 scan tool used by GM, it will show the wheel speed of alls wheels while safely driving. This verification of the problem and not guessing. Many make the mistake of using info from a parts store scanner to sell parts as it does not say erratic signal or open sensor. They are service the symptom on not the root cause. This is where people get frustrated spending money on parts that do not fix the problem. In the video, they reached a point where they said “Ok, we are installing the new ABS sensor”. What? Is that the factory installed dirt on that new sensor? NO! It is from a salvage yard! New means new and they are clean during my 38+ years of taking parts out. Also, after all that effort, they drove the car and the ABS still came on! Whoops?
They did not clean the flange for the ABS sensor to fit fully seated as air far is crucial. Plus, dielectric grease should be installed into the connector which is sold at home improvement stores! Too much wrong here to say they were no even good at guessing. The sensor fits on wheel because of the clips and length of wire, twisted 9 times per foot inside the housing, if a PMG type sensor. Some use magnetic reed switches, some use a hall-effect switch in the sensor. I didn’t build these but as a professional I do know the difference.
Call the dealer parts, have year, make, model, LS, LTS, engine size or VIN. Ask about hub and sensor price & availability. The hub fits any wheel, sensor not so much!
If they say the sensor is order only but they have 13 hubs in stock, what does that tells you.
Many times they offer information as simple as we sell a lot of hubs but very few sensors! Hey, free clue!
