    The phrase “let the weight of the club head lead the charge” is one of the best phrases I have heard in all of golf instruction. As someone who recently started to truly appreciate what it means to “release the club head” that phrase really captures the feeling. Pete Cowen talks a lot about how the club head and gravity shape the golf swing. This is a much simpler way of expressing that. Well done!

      Releasing/swinging the club head is the secret to great chipping and pitching as it is the most consistent method of engaging the bounce every time.

    "THANK YOU" very much! "YOU" are an AMAZING teacher! Other instructors should listen to your teaching techniques. Most of us are average golfers at best. Need all the help that we can get. And you have the great ability to simplify teaching the game to us. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

    Been subscribed for a while and I actually appreciate that you continually find a way to create content on your own and it's still informational. Colabs are awesome but you are doing a niche deal. The instructions are great and they work...but also the country club tours are awesome. This all being said....A MrShortGame/Bob Does Sports country club tour and match would be awesome and hilarious. I know those guys would be egregious when it comes to utilizing the amenities lol

    I have always played chips back in my stance. Inconsistent contact leaving longer putts. I practiced this set up today for about 15-20 minutes.I went out later and played 9 holes. 3 great up and downs and 2 short birdies and a 35. High and soft shots with just a little roll out. TEAM BOUNCE 👏 thanks for the great tips

    • @josephwall9161
      @josephwall9161 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Me too but I always hit the ball first that way. More consistent then middle of stance I think

    • @thetowndrunk988
      @thetowndrunk988 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like everything else, what works for one person may not work for another, but for me personally, I moved the ball forward on every swing, and I’m making MUCH better contact. That’s me personally. My driver is off of my left little toe nowadays. Some people might be the exact opposite, though.

    I call it the 1 to 2 Groove Open Setup - i.e. open the clubface until the 1st groove is rotated between where the 2nd&3rd groove would be if you addressed the clubface in a square position.

    Normally (I live in southeast Texas an unless you play $80-150 dollar courses) you play off of "hardpan"! (Extremely thin grass with rock hard earth) . This manner of chip/pitch shots is exactly what we have to deal with. We'll done! Learning ball positions to "slide" the club under the ball is how we need to get it done! We'll instructed and a great reminder! (Going to shoot par tomorrow!....yeah right!! Haha)

    • @thetowndrunk988
      @thetowndrunk988 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s the same in a lot of places, like my home area of East Tennessee. If we have a hot, dry summer, like right now, hitting chips from the first cut can be absolutely brutal. Sadly, I used to think the opposite, and thought it was better to play the leading edge into the ground, thinking that’d prevent the thin skull across the green, and my chips were all over creation. Watching this guy has made it a lot more consistent for me.

    Great tips! The gamut of your chipping and pitching advice has really helped my game be more fun, and scoring better. Question: What are the best ways to chip from deeper rough (ball height or higher) with grass leaning away from hole, and when the pin is close, like within 15 feet or so? Thanks 😊 Love your channel!

    I am 5-7 and the only way I can get the club shaft straight at set up is to either choke way down or move back from the ball. It always seams like I have to much forward shaft lean at

    Huh? Bermuda doesn’t ever produce “tight lies”
    It’s grass that sits up, literally tees the ball up. Ball comes out with less spin unless you pick the ball...
    Fescue and bent grass are the most typical grasses and Bermuda is not a golfing grass.... it’s a lemonade approach for high temp environs.
