Maya Bay is where the film The Beach was filmed with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Reef sharks are native to the bay and come close to shore.
There is a conservation policy on the island after some of the beachfront was damaged during filming. Thankfully the sharks and aquatic life are starting to return to the area.
Filmed in April 2024.
