Awesome 👌 Video, I'm learning about boats and I loved hearing you say there's no one perfect boat for everything 😀 Do I get a short boat for my first boat? Do I get a boat that can handle rougher waters. Do I get a boat to duck and fish? Do I buy 2 boats? If I buy one aluminum then how many days on the water will I pass because of conditions 🤔 How many people will be with me on the boat, grandkids, son in law and me? Trolling all day for Walleye on big water to shallow bays and stumps....What should I get? Ughh?
If y’all are looking for a boat, call Uncle J custom boats. I was looking earlier in 2021 and boats were hard to find. Went custom and got a bigger boat bigge motor for roughly the same price as a bass tracker.
I have same boat and the small livewell is only issue....I run 75hp prop 42 mph...and it duck hunts great too.....I really like the versa track for accessories....dont miss the heavy glass boat.
There are some reports of Leaky welds and Horrible Lowe customer service. I'd love to own this boat but I can't weld Aluminum. Anyone have issues? I really like how you have your boat set up. Thanks for sharing.
Great vid. I’ve got a budget of about $30k. I’ve been looking at some older north rivers. But it’s hard to find anything for that budget. You had said this is about a third of the cost of a full size boat. The full size boats I see are around $90k new. I’ve never seen these boats before. Are you saying you can get this boat for about $30k? If that’s the case I’d buy this tomorrow.
Thanks Troy. Final price is all dependent on the accessories you want, but you can get an aluminum model similar to this in that price range (at least you could four years ago…). Give Eberlin’s a call and they can help you out. www.eberlinboats.com/
Awesome video! I have a 2005 1860, and I'm thinking about doing seadek on it. So it's several layers stacked together? Do you stack it before you lay it down or lay down one sheet at a time?
Thanks Kyle! I highly recommend adding the Seadek. It’s a little pricey but you won’t regret it. It comes in sheets about 1/4” thick with a 3M peel and stick backing. Just clean and prep your flooring ahead of time, measure, and cut to fit. One layer is plenty!
I know you mention it's quite uncomfortable in 3' waves but would you consider it safe if you take it slow? Were you concerned about making it back? I'm considering this style boat as an all-purpose for duck hunting shallow and big water occasionally.
Hey David. It’s more the fiat bottom hull than the Lowe boat design itself. Instead of cutting through the big rollers, it tends to smack down on top of them. Same as any flat bottom would. The front 1/4 is a semi-V but then it tapers to a flat bottom to run in shallower water. A prop drive would help in the rough water, but the jet motor tends to bounce a little (by design). Going slow in the big, rough water is a necessity, but I’d still recommend it for what you’re wanting.
Good looking boat! I just ordered my self the same boat just the 2022 model. Did that boat come with those seats or did you buy the stinger middle seat? Watching your video I asked my dealer if I could get those seats instead of the bench seat and he said that he could do the seats but they’re actually the stinger seats. Also could you put a link for the phone box/cup holder?
You bet James. The smaller storage boxes came from Eberlin Boats and Motors in Hermann, MO: www.eberlinboats.com/ The stinger seats were standard equipment through this dealership, so I didn’t have to mess with the bench seat. Hope you enjoy your new Lowe. Am curious to what changes were made to the 2022 model compared to the 2019.
@@randydomanoutdoors225 thank you, sir! I needed up getting the seats and ordered the storage box. Thank you for the link. I’ll let ya know if there’s any changes but they seem to look the same. I haven’t gotten the boat in yet though.
Hi Randy, Great videos and thanks for taking the time to do them...they have helped me tremendously...So I have a 2021 Lowe Roughneck 1760 SC...essentially the same boat as you only a foot shorter and I have ordered the Seadek and will have it here shortly. As you had mentioned the aluminum can get really hot and I don't want to burn my Golden retrievers pads when we take a day trip to the Wisconsin River. My question(s) are what kind of prep, if any, did you do before applying the Seadek? Acetone obviously before but, any sanding of the Roughliner or and additional contact cement? How good is the adhesion? Thanks Randy and keep up the great vids!!
Thanks Darren! Prep work was the vacuuming, cleaning, and acetone wash only. No additional sanding or cement required. The 3M backing works well on the rough liner. The Seadek has been on for two years now and still haven’t had any peeling or tearing issues. I keep the boat garaged when not in use and that probably helps too. I also put scraps in the bottom of the storage boxes to quiet the boat as well, but you’ll have to be mindful to open the lids and air out the boxes if they get wet - otherwise they’ll get moldy. Congratulations on the boat and nice work on the Rush covers as well! I’m guessing covers of Neil Peart are not the easiest! 🤘
@@randydomanoutdoors225 Oh cool...!! That's great because I can concentrate on making accurate templates and so forth...thank you for the kind words on my drumming!! It's a lot of fun doing drumming videos of my favorite drummers...I will have upload some fishing adventures soon as well...like you, I love the river and the skinny water so I finally got a jet boat and it's absolutely great!! Thanks again Randy!
Talk about poachers, i guess the guy who use to live at my property here in long lane Missouri poached many deer. In fact he had many skulls hanging on the walls of the house, which most were young ones and he spent time in jail. We have a lot of deer now and we feed them corn during the winter. We don't hunt, we enjoy watching them.
I love this boat! I have been seriously considering trading or selling my current boat for one. I have a Tracker pro guide 175 deep v. Is there any chance of you turning on your camera next time you are in some rough or choppy water? I really want to see how these handle. That's the only thing that's stopped me from pulling the trigger. Thanks for all the great content.
@@randydomanoutdoors225 I finally made the plunge and traded in my boat. I ended up going with the Lund 2070 cc. I did upload some videos of it, but I haven't had a chance to lake test it yet. My wife is on board with your sea deck. 👍 (Thanks lol)
@@randydomanoutdoors225 Yeah, we had a sea deck like material on our last boat, but I like the color of yours. We have the same cammo pattern. I uploaded a video of you want to see it. It's the Lund 2070 cc. Keep your videos coming, they're fun to watch. 👍
I never had that problem with this setup. The dealership added a metal shim between the boat and mounting bracket to get the impeller angle just right, and it planes out and stabilizes like it should.
Thanks! At times a jet motor will suck weeds up towards the impeller and partially block the intake. You’ll have to stop and clean them off the bottom of the boot. Same with a bunch of leaves on a river in the fall. Not a big deal, but can be annoying when your trying to fish and move around a lot.
Great video. I'm looking to purchase this model. Any idea what percentage the inflation is on current models? I'm thinking I should hold off until prices drop.
I love it on the rivers. It’s a great setup to fish shallow water rivers/shoals for smallies and spots. However it’s the wrong tool for big lake tournament fishing. Simply can’t safely travel where I need to go when the wind blows. It limits me to 1-2 miles from takeout.
@@randydomanoutdoors225 I know part of year i jig for walleye and river can see 3’ers, that has me thinking but typically I play the weather and fish under 15mph winds
I fish out of a 16.5 aluminum boat and like you said its not a 90 thousand dollar rig but its a fishing machine and I love it so much.
Love it. Smart mods. Great walk-through. Best setup for Lowe Roughneck SC that I have ever seen. THANKS!
Appreciate the feedback!
Just picked up this boat in the center console. A bit more money than I wanted to spend but it’s great for what I need.

Nice job and boat Randy. I really need to get my aluminum boat up and running again. Soon I hope.
Hi Randy. What length trolling motor shaft would you recommend for this rig?
Since this is primarily a shallow water/river rig, I went with the 45” shaft. Seems to be a good all around length for lakes too.
