Clone or not, this looks Insane.
I want one, need to buy one.
Looks Like They Merged The Two Headset The AvP Look And The Quest Functionality.
Ngl The AvP Faceplate And Strap Is Clean Asf
Pico is the number one brand in China’s XR market, followed by DPVR and iQIYI....That's the big name in China.
We knew that Pico and DPVR has scheduled their next headset for September, and the big surprise come from YVR....( who seems to be the first brand which bring pancake lens before the well know Pico)
YVR new brand seems to have a lot to offer: 3D video recording at 80° of FOV, Micro oled displays...Controllers, first with the XR2+ etc....
at half the price of the Apple's boring headset
Where is Meta? where is Pico !?
if you get your hands on it, you could make the comparison video of the century.
Curious in what way they are going to support it.. business- and gamingwise. Partners like apple, microsoft, meta and immersed (cause they have their visor) are obviously out of the question. So probably sth proprietary and that could be a problem though. Synching, cloud and compatibility issues are here in question. Gamingwise they have not so much of a problem since the companies are already developing for android.. but the resolution.. well.. it will be a hard pill to swallow since the companies didnt/dont concentrate on high-def implementations on standalone devices and the PCVR part is going to struggle with the limited bandwidth (so compression artifacts + ai upscaling) since display port is not supported. But still. I'm interested as well, but the price is still a bit too high for me.. but it is justified for such a specmonster. :)
Damn this is what I want the Quest Pro 2 to be.
Meh I like the Quest 3. It's good enough for me and if you want better hand tracking, just buy the pro controllers and they have a new eye tracking attachment that supposedly works better than the Quest Pro optical tracking
I'm waiting on QP2
VR headset makers. Add a DISPLAY port. Thats what we want and need. No need for anneven higher resolution while the games are still looking like n64 graphics on standalones. Need a 4090 allready to run a bigscreen normally. Just bring out everything this thing has with a display port and resolution doesnt need to be higher then the quest 3. Make a fake quest 3 100% copy with a display port and it will sell like crazy
It has Wifi 7 atleast. Not everyone will have wifi 7, but for those that do, dual 4k video feed with extremely low latency is already possible. Not sure how much the wireless will affect battery life though.
looks great on paper but I will wait for your review you are the best when it comes for review
Can't wait until you get your hands on it. Hopefully we can order it and get it shipped to the US like the Pico 4
3:33 yes let me hop in my PORSCHE and drive around with my android vision pro
🤣🤣🤣
Eyetracking! It supposed to be in the headsets years ago. Still...
But money is a problem, eye tracking is expensive, and everyone want a cheap headset
@@nagyFerko Eye tracking is not that expensive to implement, two cameras and some ir leds less than a couple dollars.
@@Mizdere yes, and that’s all you need, no software, no precise machining. No cpu that can handle the extra 2 camera feed. You really don’t know how complicated these things. If it would be that easy, you could do that in your home. We let’s go, build a precise eye tracking system in your home.
Valve VR headset is dead. Even Chinese companies which don't get our money from Steam runs circles around Valve.
@@s4091boat yeah pico 4 and pico 4 pro are dirt cheap (in comparioson), don't use extra software on your pc to work, and are wireless. They also have cheap fbt leg extensions as well.
That Black Shell Casing Is🔥
That's The One Thing I Liked About The Quest #1 When It Dropped Idk It Just Looked Sleek Asf And True It Didn't Get Dirty As Fast Especially After Heavy Usage.
This is the vision air we are getting later hopefully its plastic like this . And just a fancy clip in the back as metal
Vision Pro but not apple....and has controllers.....sign me up
You’d rather China have your data? 😅
@@slothsarecool you think they care about some random guy data? keep living under rock then
The Quest Pro sold me on the Unibody design, with the rear of the headset (with batter) rigidly connected to the front. It makes the whole thing SO much more stable when doing fast head movements. It makes the headset feel half as light as it actually is.
The problem is just weight distribution. If they just spread the parts throughout a band that wraps around the head while simultaneously allowing adjustment and has padding, it'd be 10x more comfortable
The auestion is VP and this clone support HDR, Dolby Vision or just have nice blacks? Second question is whether quick decoders used for wirless streaming are capable of HDR in real time?
This is amazing
i Subscribed because you look: Honest, passionate and Questions type of person. Natural expression, the camera likes you and a lot of CONNECTED media with the video topic(YES, a lot of the influencers became lazy and are using too much AI). Going to watch some more and cant wait for the next!
Maybe they could make the front lens to be swappable to avoid adding prescription inserts ??
I had a chance to try the soft strap for the Apple Vision Pro when I was in Las Vegas for FSExpo and I have to say all the information about this not being comfortable is not true. As a strap it's by far the most comfortable strap I've wore on a headset. The headset was honestly fine for the 30 minute demo I had. The issue is that if I had worn this longer then yes possibly I would have noticed the weight more but really the issue is the headset therefore needs to become lighter, the strap is actually a wonderful design.
Tanks for the video. No direct connection makes it a non starter for serious pcvr gaming.
Its not released yet ? Is it ? I live in China, and i cant find it on the online store. If there is a physical store nearby i might go have a look. Today also apple vision pro is released in China. So definitely want to go try in the store
will you be able to run virtual desktop with this?
I Hope !!
Very interesting, and hopefully their android platform is extremely open, allowing for 3rd party development. Uphill battle if there's no local distribution and support. Even if they only follow Meta's example (here in Oz) of a webstore and Amazon, it'd make a big difference. Otherwise I haven't even heard of anyone here with a Pico headset (even a "friend of a friend"), let alone an import at the high end. Saying that, I actually thought the price was going to be worse judging by their lifestyle marketing video, which wasn't exactly aimed at the working class.
I believe, You Are the One who should do the full review of this headset.
If they could make this the size of the beyond, it might just be my “final headset”
No wired PC connection is a deal breaker for me. I'll keep waiting for the Valve Deckard.
I'm kinda skeptical how a 3840p display with a 103° FOV is 45ppd when the Varjo XR4 w/ 3880p at 120° FOV is 55... Lower FOV should = Higher PPD at same resolutions, so either they pulled another Pimax situation w/ bad lens or are rendering a lower render resolution since there's no possible way a Snapdragon XR2+ can run those resolutions & tracking data reasonably
Just using lenses that can't resolve the detail well.
@@markkovalcson7243 even when they listed best case scenarios, at the central image? then im kinda worried for their lens' distortion profile, warping, chromatic aberration and edge-to-edge clarity..
@@EULA Yup all those things that don't show up in the specs. Plus it will likely have lousy FOV given that tiny display.
There are two different PPD numbers, peak PPD and average PPD. Peak PPD depends on the lens design, its the central part. And average PPD is just the pixels divided by FOV. You cant really compare PPD numbers.
@@Nobody-Nowhere The pixels divided by FOV is only the theoretical average PPD. But based on the peak PPD, these will throw away a lot of resolution.
The 10th VR headset on the list to buy now . I will never catch up .
Based on their specs, they are using an
Depending on the the type of pancake lens that they use, they could have a very different result
@@SETHalpine The physics involved make it hard to resolve much FOV with a display that small without serious image degradation.
Hope for the best, but temper your expectations. BTW, I seriously hope they have somehow found a solution to an issue that appears to have real world physics constraints.Who knows? I'm just not holding my breath.
@@markkovalcson7243 Agree with you, but the next display Micro led are scheduled to be under 1 inches too, so they have to find a different arrangement for lens used in the pancake.
@@SETHalpine Apple already has larger uOLED displays and is maximizing what they are capable of. They are very expensive, but they are what is necessary to get a decent FOV and edge to edge clarity.
Until they get yields up we will be waiting.
@@markkovalcson7243 There is a review out for this device, he says its sharper than AVP.
Good for industry competition. But can't wait to see the official Google XR platform headsets, even the Pico 4S, despite that isn't, and is much much cheaper.
if there are coppying apple then they should add the Laptop Snapdragon X Elite as well as the XR2+ chips
promising ! but pancake optics is a bummer . they 'd have included Asperical optics like those found in Pimax Crystal /lite
Looks interesting. Especially if its android, can get proper netflix and all the other entertainmet apps. Hopefully easy sideloading of APKs.
YAY. High end VR with controllers. Hope they can get the software right.
hmmmm ben's gadget reviews tried it out
Thx
@kevinkev1530 it's not that technical analysis and it's just a preview ...but I hadn't seen anyone else try it out
I saw that! Nice video preview, at least we know it's real 😶
Imagine something like this with the Horizon OS instead of their custom OS.
We would have all the quest apps, Steam Link, Air Link, VD and most likely regular OS updates with new features.
After what google did to Huawei, i dont think Chinese companies will trust US software anymore. Its too big of a risk, when US can just do a rug pull.
I am hoping that the Samsung/Google headset will have these specs + Display port and that it's under 2k.
Why no DP? :O
why has a $250 headset for pc not come out yet were right within the market
Probably because it simply costs more to make than that. Cheap headsets are heavily subsidized to keep costs low. Manufacturers lose money on the hardware to keep prices down because you’ll buy software. Outside of vavle. Nobody else really has the marketplace to move enough software to lose money on the PCVR hardware. Look at the price of recent PCVR headsets that are high resolution. They are easily 2-3x that because the tech isn’t cheap enough yet. Prolly another 2-3 years before it is tbh. We are stuck with PCVR headsets in the 750-1000 price and that’s without controllers usually. You still need 2-300 worth of trackers and controllers.
Samsung needs to reveal their glasses!
I just watched a video of a guy who demoed this headset abs he said that he actually thought the woman in the headset was actually real this looks like am awesome headset but can it match the features Meta is constantly putting into the Quest 3?
can it play pokemon go in ar?
Seems like using Meta or Google's OSs would make development a lot quicker.
Strange how headset makers don't seem to understand the option of a direct connection to PC, would be an inexpensive BIG plus! 😯
@@BoltRM inexpensive I'm not sure, a big plus, absolutely, but that would make it the definitive perfect headset 😂
Definitely smh
who need a direct connection to PC ? With Wi FI 7 bandwidth, who need a cable?
The only need is a chip which is really capable to support the massive signal...
@@SETHalpine Maybe a headset could check: IF on wifi7, don't use compression
, Agreed. Direct DP via usb c cable for uncompressed giant screen of 3840x3550 X2 would make a great quad monitor display for desktop usage. Would be a killer for Sim games. Alternatively, a direct point 2 point wifi7 client to host link at maximum speed could suffice. OLED display is a huge plus.
The problem with Pico and Co. is... the range of entertainment software (games) otherwise Pico and Co. are a really good piece of hardware.
I refuse to believe that someone would be able to recreate the smoothness and seamlessness of Vision Pro, nobody’s still quite there yet to make other phones run as smooth as iPhones let alone Vision pro with separate chip dedicated to making it smooth
Man this sounds too good to be true so....
the soft strap is much better, you can’t even lean back with that thing
i dont agree that this is a clone of VI I clicked on the video thinking its about the Quest Pro (blush)
Will this be banned in the US too?
FIELD OF VIEW !! Like common now , these companies can upgrade everything else but we still have a measley 100 degrees fov?! Thats whats keeping these headsets from truly feeling next gen.
This price might be still high but not 2500$ but your also getting more freedom
1700-2000 usd most likely. Feel free to check out its review on my channel! It's a prototype, but a very promising one!
👍
wow. any company should use these displays with DisplayPort😮
the controllers look suspisciously like the Pico 4S's controllers (ringless)
You are actually right, but they are black 😶
How exciting! Google/Samsung headset on the way, Meta rolling out updates faster and next quest hopefully next year, and China copying everything as usual😂 XR has no choice but to increase quality and continue to improve!
Hilarious, if it runs android I wonder if it can be made to run Horizon OS too?
Nope
This vs quest 3 especially pass through and over all better comfort way more efficient everything just isn't Meta
this is prob the closest weve seen to what samsungs headset will look like
I would definitely buy it and not the pro as apple are getting even more greedy.
It’s häagen-dazs ice cream in England now costing over £5. I refuse to buy it at that price even though I can afford it. It’s just getting stupid pure greed compared to how much it actually cost to produce. I just buy an alternative until they start behaving.
about the law, what you think is illegal, is allowed and free in actually free countries
Seeing that it's from China, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Very promising hardware with terrible software expected if the Pico is anything to go by.
They should have hired an English speaker to come up with the name. It's kind of a Chinglish name there.
Well, the technology for high quality VR exists, so the question is who can bring us the best quality for the least cost. I wouldn't go Apple because their entire philosophy is maximize selling price and lock you in to their walled garden.
Just started in VR and I already only consider headsets with the Meta VR OS.
Yeah when can I buy one oh wait never 😂
We don't care about resolution, we care about FOV. I won't buy another VR headset until they are at 180 standard. That won't happen anytime soon
It has already happened. Ever heard of Pimax? The problem with more FOV is that it makes the headset a lot bigger since the display's need to be a lot bigger. We are never going to "get" affordable standalone units like the Quest and Pico's that have big displays like that (stick out 8-10cm from your head to the sides) since they market the headsets to children as well (half of the standalone VR market is children).
Get a Pimax and strap 2kgs to your forehead or just simply make/buy a face gasket mod for a quest/pico/reverb etc so your eyes sit up against the lenses for more FOV. But then you will probably see the outside edges of the screen since it needs to be bigger for more FOV.
Maybe nice but probably also too expensive.
Take care.
You get what you pay for.
🤣🤣🤣
@@PSYCHOV3N0M Wel if you can afford this, go for it. I will stick with my Quest 3.
This headset is NOT 8K whatsoever.
🤣🤣🤣
The FoV of around 100 degrees feels like it's identical to the Apple Vision Pro. these chinese copycats, when they copy stuff they do a good job! The worst aspect of the AVP was the FoV, it felt by some distance smaller than the Quest 3, Pico 4 and HP Reverb G2. Anybody using this for immersive gaming is going to be really dissappointed. You have been warned!
How many hours do you hate in a day 😂
How are they even allow to do this? Lol
if they add steam link, should not matter to me, that and DISCORD..... Why dont quest 3 add it... so dumb to steam ur quest 3 content in discord.
Too expensive
YOU are NOT the target audience for this headset.
Stay in your lane.
🤣🤣🤣
Don’t worry. I heard they are making a free version, just for you.
Anyone who actually believes in a product like this deserves to be scammed 🤣
32MP passthrough cameras is a really bad idea, would have really poor low light performance.
Sensor size matters too.
@@PSYCHOV3N0M It does not, all that matters is the pixel size. With larger sensors you need to have longer focal length & smaller aperture to get the same FOV & depth of field.
Why can’t they ever create something original.
China... no thanks
It's going to be janky asf, if we was begin honest he would have started off and ended with this statement.
