Synopsis:
At the beginning of summer in 1966, Kaoru moves yet again, this time to a sunny part of Kyushu Japan. For him, it's a never-ending cycle of trying to adjust. An A star student as well as a classically trained pianist, Kaoru would soon be left alone to play or to study.
But local bad-boy Sentaro Kawabuchi has a taste for confrontation and feels no need to leave Kaoru alone. He demands Kaoru's attention, and at first their friendship is precarious at best. But upon discovering Sentaro's immense talent as a jazz drummer, neither of them can ignore each other, and through music a friendship beyond words emerges.
Master director Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Beebop) handles this brilliant manga adaptation with care, and along with an amazing soundtrack from Yoko Kanno (Macross, Ghost in the Shell), Kids on the Slope is one of the most accomplish anime programs in recent memory.

this anime is amazing, all the emotion is perfectly captured, the music is amazing and the story itself is a masterpiece, this is something i have never came acrosss in another anime, its truly one of a kind and a must see, i promise you wont be dissapointed
SuperSwegLord The SwegiestOfThemAll I found some issues, the dubbing on an important scene in episode 11 is TERRIBLE, and the main character does something that shows he hasn’t matured toward the end of the show
The music is amazing and so tight - it keeps to a few core themes so you remember the significance of each song. (Also love that the titles are all jazz/standards and they tell a little story of their own. You already know what's up, when an episode is called But Not For Me. 😂)

Only thing I didn't care for was the whole love pentagon... thing. It took up way too much of the air for something that didn't matter in the long run. The only thing that really mattered was what survived a time skip - Ri'ku's love for her boys, that unbreakable bromance better than any love story they attempted, and the music they shared.
As a lover of Jazz an anime idk how the hell I haven't seen this yet. Starting right now.

Sentaro’s childhood made me cry ugly. From all those evil kids tormenting him to his grandma trying to hug him as she was dying. He really went through it

Watched this "live" (actually an hour after it aired in Japan) when it was on. What an AMAZING SHOW!! I haven't watched it in a while but seeing the trailer makes me want to watch it again.
I was actually researching on Choking on Flowers by Fox Academy then led to The Girl Who Spit Flowers by Naoko Matsuda and then somehow ended up here, looking at Kids on the Slope's trailer. No regrets, being a lover of jazz, I am so excited to see this but first, let me read the manga hehe.
Also, the reason why I clicked on the manga's image was that it looked familiar to me from one of Gigguk's video entitled Music on Anime :)
This is one of the best bromance stories ever told.
It's NOT yaoi, but you can easily ship them while not breaking anything canon.

I loved the manga for your lie in april. Haven't watched but heard good things. I found kids on the slope anime randomly one day but haven't read the manga (definitely going to). La corda was kind of good except harem isn't that much my thing. Loved it when I was younger because the music was amazing.
I would suggest keeping your eyes peeled for an anime for Kono oto tomare if you love music animes. It hasn't happened yet so I'm jumping the gun but everyone reading the manga right now is shouting anime so fingers crossed it gets adapted!

If you mean by music anime like slice-of-life then check out Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad or Cannon(although thats more cutesy ish style)
