removing the cmos battery for 10 seconds and then replacing it, got my 4540s to work. It had a blank screen when i turned it on..now it works just fine. thanks !!
Worked like a charm! I was having the same flashing issue 5 long and 3 short. I removed the cmos battery for roughly 5 minutes and re-inserted it, re-assembled everything. it showed an error while going through the post that the bios would revert to default. After that it booted to the desktop, I reset it a few times just to make sure it would continue to boot and it did. Thanks for your advice! Sub and liked
I have the same problem, I recently cleaned water out of it, and it worked. After about two days it did 5:3 stating it is a BIOS problem but idk how to fix it for my type of laptop
This is what I have been looking for. I could see you posted the video on 18th of July 2019. My HP Probook 4530s didn't boot the OS due to some issues and I tried to reinstall the OS again, unfortunately I forgot the BIOS password and locked out the BIOS. I was getting the same capslock blinks, I didn't get the time to check on it so for easy being I gave my Laptop to a repair shop on 5th of August 2019. I got it returned that the issue is with the motherboard. I was thinking it has something to do with the BIOS but unfortunately I believed the words of the computer shop. I didn't change the motherboard because I thought I could spend some time to understand the issue to fix it myself. Hence, I was browsing for all the topic related to this issue and found this very helpful video. In the video you had the same complaint with the same laptop and relatively this happened to you on the same month of the same year. Thank you, very much for putting this on TH-cam. I am probably going to do it this week itself and let you know about the status. Also after I got the laptop from the computer shop, it seems like the display isn't turning on. I guess they have done something or haven't plugged the cables inside.
I had this problem yesterday. I opened up the PC, removed the battery (my laptop doesn't have a CMOS battery so it uses the main battery as the RTC power supplier, so the CMOS battery is basically the normal battery on mine) and removed the charger. After waiting like 15 minutes and putting the battery back it started working cuz it restarted the BIOS.
Deng! All that work just to replace cmos battery. They should make it easy to do that just like with PC. I'll try this amd I'm pretty sure this'll work cause mine got this issue after a power interruption...thanks in advance for this man
Hi, thank you for advice. From the beginning I read the same forums that are shown in your video. I tried to reset the BIOS by removing the battery, as in the video, but unfortunately it didn't work. I'll try to heat chips with a blowtorch, maybe something has happened with BGA fixings...

Cmos battery removal only good for stuck bios splash logos, keeping up date/time and holding bios configuration. For PC cmos has jumper if you change that jumper your PC will not open, your case is laptop so you don’t have to worry. But, I will recommend remove laptop battery open via laptop cable AC. If still does not work remove memory try each slot with different memory. If all these things did not work you can try removing cmos battery.Your case sound like power supply part is damage or motherboard.
