- I bought a Pine64 PinePhone Pro recently and have been enjoying it. However, there are a few issues with it. The biggest is with suspend-a Linux feature that puts the device in an ultra low power mode to save battery life. Tow-Boot, the boot loader I install in this video, aims to make booting boring. It seems that Linux distributions will require this in the future over the current u-boot implementation. Interestingly, many users claim that Tow-Boot has fixed some of their issues with suspend as the phone wouldn't wake up without it. Can I get it working? Watch to find out!

I hate how capricious the "RE" button press timing can be. I had to try it 4 or 5 times before I got it right! 🤣
I installed Tow-Boot and Mobian on my PPP last night using Raspberry Pi's Installer. Just another good tool if it applies to anyone.

I hear Waydroid is able to run the Android version of Discord fairly well. I haven't had much luck with Waydroid on it myself, though.

@@ItsMCBHere Well the standard FPS that films use are 24fps and as well as a lot of IRL content, some use 30fps which is just different, but 60 is way to high for irl

Hows the battery life for you?
Pretty bad. I get about an hour and ten minutes of constant usage (screen on, running multiple apps, web browsing, etc). I would not feel confident bringing it anywhere as a "daily driver." Both the modem and SoC are power hungry. However, I recently bought a battery case and that helps the phone to last longer. I plan on making an in-depth video about the PPP's power consumption and ways to make it last longer.
@@ItsMCBHere Yeahs thats pretty bad. Could you test something for me? Try pulling out the battery while the phone is plugged in charging. Does it just turn off or keep running. Because if it doesn't care then having a small collection of batterys to change and a power bank could facilitate daily driver esque usage. Incredibly inconvenient, but possible.
I just tried it and the phone's power seemed to be cut.

Not bad if you get a USB power pack and velcro it to the back of the phone. :D
