They are the greatest live band on the planet right now. Check out the concert at the Rome Olympic stadium of which there are many track crops on YT if you want to explore them further on the channel. They are an english three piece with a fourth guy who assists in the live gigs to cover for lead singer Matt Bellamy who plays guitar and keys on the studio recordings. Their stage shows are NEVER understated.

You're in for a ride with muse. The greatest live band of the modern era. I'd recommend assassin live at the mayan, supermassive Black hole at Wembley and new born at Wembley to start off.

I was lucky enough to see Muse in 2006 in a 6300-seat theater in the Dallas area. My seat was close to the stage and the sound blew me away. This is one of the songs they played. Not long after, the band got huge and started playing stadiums. Muse is one of my favorite bands, what I like to describe as a cross between Queen and Radiohead.

And you can absolutely hear the influence of those two groups in their music. Was lucky enough to see them a couple of times but not in a small arena like that. Lucky you.

Ah Muse - excellent! Another rabbit hole beckons 😎👍 All of them are amazing musicians, but Matt's guitar wizardry and incredible voice lift the band to another level. Loads more brilliant banging tracks to explore 😈

I accidentally found their song Uprising on XM browsing around. I have been hooked for years. LOVED Madness!

Hey Daniel, welcome to Muse!! What a way to start my morning - can never go wrong with Hysteria! If you choose to dive into this rabbit hole, you will notice the influences on this group are many, from symphonic, to metal, to prog, to electronic - this 3-piece spans the board! They are absolutely brilliant live - each of the three shows I've seen rank among the best I have ever witnessed (from musicianship to overall spectacle! They never disappoint!)
Hysteria was a perfect place to start. Where to go from here - for their 'rockier' side:
Knights Of Cydonia, Map of the Problematique, Citizen Erased, Time Is Running Out, Uprising, Resistance, Starlight, Supermassive Black Hole (chances are you may have heard this one), Won't Back Down (new single out recently), The Handler, Supremacy... so many others.
For a more electronic side: Undisclosed Desires, Apocalypse Please, Dead Inside, Algorithm, The Dark Side, Madness, Pressure, Thought Contagion.
So much to explore with this band!! Enjoy!

Mathew Bellamy's father was in the group that had the first hit in America by a British group. The song was Telstar and the group was The Tornados.

Two comments before I even watch this video. One - Thank you for doing the official music video. It's trippy as hell, in a really good way. Two - While I haven't exhaustively listened to Muse, I have yet to hear another song by them like Hysteria. Meaning, (again, from my perspective) you need to listen to more songs to really get an understanding of them as a band. My favorites other than Hysteria are, in no particular order: Uprising, Knights of Cydonia, Madness, and Resistance. All four of those are amazing, and (musically) share a lot more in common with each other than with Hysteria.
Still, Hysteria was my introduction into Muse, and for many years it was the only thing I'd heard by them. So so glad I got into the other side of them though, because they are truly great.

Finally! So happy you are reacting to Muse. I’m surprised your mom didn’t recommend them. Has she listen to them? Hoping you go down the Muse rabbit hole, so many great songs. You should listen to Plug in Baby, Assassin, Stockholm syndrome, and Reapers, to start.

First Muse song? I think this is the very first song I heard by them, and they're now my favorite band ☺️
Newest song is Won't Back Down, lots of TH-cam reactions to it. It's their heaviest song to date.
Muscle Museum and Microcuts really showcases the singer's falsetto 😳
Space Dementia features Matt's amazing piano skills (yup, the singer is also an awesome guitarist and pianist. It's not fair, really. Lol)

Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme described this insistent, gymnastic, three minute riff as _The Finger Crippler_ - and for good reason. Magnificent torture. 🖤

You will love muse. I prefer what they did in this era, the first three or four albums to the last few. This song I've played regular for the last 17 years and is my ringtone.
    Never tire of it.

Love solid rock when done right post 2000. And as I quickly age into obscurity, my critiques of newer rock seems more jaded, probably unfairly. Velvet Revolver, Greta Van Fleet, most of Linkin Park and Incubus pass with flying colors. But I always forget about Muse. They are really, really good.

Will instantly be here for any Muse reactions lol. IMO Muse at their best:
Sunburn, Showbiz, Uno, New Born, Plug in Baby, Space Dementia, Citizen Erased, Micro Cuts, Dead Star, Stockholm Syndrome, Butterflies & Hurricanes, Take a Bow, Supermassive Black Hole, Starlight, Map of the Problematique, City of Delusion, Invincible, Knights of Cydonia, Animals, Reapers, The Handler, and Pressure. Tons more, but that's already a lot and I think is a good highlight of what they're capable of.

  • @AndaraBledin

I love this band, the singer is amazing. Supermassive Black Hole is good, and I could listen to Starlight for days. But if you're going to do another reaction, I'd suggest going for Knights of Cydonia. The music video is an absolute *trip.*
My interpretation of Hysteria: Guy is obsessed with a girl and he stalks and records her. But then he finds out that she's a sex worker and so he hires her. But when he gets her in the room, he's faced with the dichotomy of his fantasy of who he thinks she is and the reality of the woman herself and he snaps. So he starts flipping out and destroying everything in the room while it appears that she's able to get her things together and flee.

    enjoyed your video ;)
If you're interested for another reaction you should go on *Undisclosed Desires* , because while being on the *polar opposite* of what they can produce it's among their 5-6th biggest hit,
it may pass you unaffected or transcend you, it's a particular song but undispensable to get the *variety* of what Muse is capable of outside of their (already diverse) heavy stuff they perform ;)
    enjoy

I really like the guitars in “Unnatural Selection” but the lyrics are very political. I think you would enjoy the music in that one. There is also the “Exogenesis Symphony” in three parts which I really like. Matt Bellamy has a beautiful voice. The entire “Black Holes and Revelations” album is a great album. The last song “Knights of Cydonia” is a strange song but I really like it. It reminds me of Ennio Marricone music. Plus it is over six minutes long.
