I loved your video! I can’t wait to try this recipe. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate you taking the time to make this video. I really enjoyed watching! 😎
Thanks for your video! I been making melt & pour & cold process soap for about 5 years now it started as a hobby & terrible problems with my own sensitive skin issues! It has become a small business for me & I use the double boiler method! I feel it allows me to have better control of how much heat I apply! I put my water in a fry skillet on low heat & my pot inside there! I can really get in there & scraped down any soap on the sides of the pan to get it all melted. I am getting several orders ready while I watch your video! You might want to try mixing Lavender & Lemon fragrance oil I think it smells Divine. Would love to see your goat milk soap process!❤Happy soaping!
Goat milk soap process I’m working out. First batch (only batch) total fail. I think I know what I did wrong and plan to try again tomorrow. As for the lavender and lemon, oh yea, I’m gonna try that. I have a lavender and lemon cookie recipe that I love. We tend to have sensitive skin and some eczema so I’m really looking forward to making soap from raw goat’s milk.
I have never made goat milk soap but I had watched a lot of you tube video’s about the process! Most seem to get it right after a few tries! I plan on trying to make a batch of cold process soap with soap shreds! I do put goat milk powder in my cold process soap batches for a more luxurious soap bar! Good luck on the soap you will get it!

Hi Marian, thank you for sharing the M & P method of making soap…I am going to try it ..I am also interested in making soap for my husband and he too likes the manly scents…can you share the blend of essential oils that you use and enjoy pls…
They are always changing and evolving but if he likes patchouli, a patchouli and orange is yummy. I don’t have an exact ratio as I add orange to a cup and then scent it with patchouli until I get the smell that I find pleasant. Eucalyptus, spearmint, peppermint are all good clean minty scents too. If you go to www.eocalc.com/ you’ll find tons of blends there. I love this website and it’s a big help. Another one is pink grapefruit (80% of the scent) with a little litsea and a tad patchouli. Have fun!
Nice soap, but I don't use lavender buds because they rot, mold and get brown. I made this mistake as a begginer(my first soap). I love to add honey too. I also like coffee soap.
I’m a fan of coffee soap myself. But I only use dried lavender buds and I haven’t had any problems with them even discoloring. They stay fresh and pretty.
With the pour and melt, you could add some coffee fragrance oil and dried coffee grounds. Just spread the used, wet grounds on a paper towel or paper plate and let air dry before using. You may be able to add a little cocoa powder for coloring but I’ve never tried the cocoa powder with pour and melt do a little at a time to see how it does.
I do not use a vanilla stabilizer. I have bars left from 2 years ago, because I started making goat milk soap, and they are a creamy color but I wouldn’t call them yellowed. I do wrap them in parchment for storage.
Hi!! Does the soap only harden after 24hrs?? You can’t move the molds or transport it?? Asking because I want to have a gathering and got a kit so everyone can make their own soaps and take them home. How would that work?
They’ll probably be hard enough to move after a couple of hours but they’ll need to be kept flat and moved very carefully. The molds are usually very bendy so if they all bring a little plate to put their mold on, it’ll be much easier to carry and keep safe.
I didn’t when I made this video but I spray with alcohol now. But if you have your mold on a tray you can tap it on the counter to bring up and pop the bubbles.
Soap hardens quickly with the melt and pour method of soap making. As for making it last, keep the bar you’re using out of any direct streams of water and on a soap dish. Something that drains where the soap can dry between uses.
I’m starting making soap, I use goat milk too my problem is not making a lot of bubbles maybe I put a lot of coconut oil and shea butter? What you can say about that,Hope you can help me
I’m not sure I understand your question but if you want to make soap using coconut oil and Shea butter rather than the melt and pour that I used in the video, you’ll have to use lye (sodium hydroxide) and you’d need to add some oils. There are lots of videos out there on how to make soap the old fashioned way. Best of luck to you!
Wonderful video, I however would choose double boiler method due to microwave radiation the pour and melt and everything that is beneficial just gets radiation and no longer has any bio material. beneficial.
Just stating to make melt and pour soap. Actually have not done my first batch yet. Just curious if you want to add jojoba , almond oil or fractionated coconut
I have a question! I use the same soap base to make my soap 😊 each time I make it, once I pour it into my loaf mold, it develops this 1/4" layer of foam on the top. I have tried several things, including rubbing alcohol, and nothing seems to help. any advice????
Oh yes! I’m putting out a series now on “what to do with all of that goat milk”. Last week I made Cajeta (Mexican Carmel) and today I’m posting a video on how to make goat cheese crumble. Next Friday, Chèvre and on the 16th, goat milk soap. Totally different process than the melt and pour but I’m going to walk everyone through and make it easy.
The whole batch? Oh gosh I don’t know. If you keep the bar in a dry place between uses and on a soap dish that drains so the soap can dry out, one bar last a good while. I’ve never really paid attention as to how long exactly.
I appreciate you explaining how to use a double boiler since I don't have a microwave. Thank you for an excellent video!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it and that it was helpful. Thanks for watching!
I use goats milk as well but I add sweet almond oil & vitamin E oil with my essential oil fragrance

How would make this with liquid milk?
I honestly don’t know, I’ve never added liquid. I’m sorry.
Melt and pour already has the lye in it. It's still soap. I been doing Melt and Pour since 2015. You should allow it to sit 24 hours
Yes I completely agree. Thanks for watching!
Do you use the vanilla stabilizer in it so it doesn't discolor or are you able to use it all before it gets to that point
I do not use a vanilla stabilizer. I have bars left from 2 years ago, because I started making goat milk soap, and they are a creamy color but I wouldn’t call them yellowed. I do wrap them in parchment for storage.

About how long does one bar last? I've ordered stuff to make soap and I want to do lavender soap bars.
Depends on your recipe and how long you let it cure. With this method and the melt and pour soap they last really well. You won’t be disappointed.
Do you spray with alchohol for the bubbles
I didn’t when I made this video but I spray with alcohol now. But if you have your mold on a tray you can tap it on the counter to bring up and pop the bubbles.

With melt and pour I’ve kept it very basic, white with different essential oils, dried flowers, seed, and oatmeal.
Mam..what is the shelf life of these soaps?
A good long time…years. The scent can fade over time but the soap will last a very long time if keep in a dry place.
I have a question! I use the same soap base to make my soap 😊 each time I make it, once I pour it into my loaf mold, it develops this 1/4" layer of foam on the top. I have tried several things, including rubbing alcohol, and nothing seems to help. any advice????

Check your pour temp

I got lumps? Any suggestions?
You need to keep putting it in the microwave for 30 seconds each time and stir well until everything is melted and all lumps are gone.
