I love the 63mm so sharp and great with my GFX 50S.
I like the GF 63mm f2.8 a lot more than I thought I would … just wish it was a bit snappier with autofocus. Could have done with some linear motors like the 32-64mm zoom. For primes I prefer using the 45mm f2.8 and the 110mm f2.
Ye I think they are a step up, at least for me!
If you're looking for something to test, try out the wireless tethering. No matter what I do for me it "locks up" after 6 serially taken images. Thus click, click, click, click, click, click. To unlock, remove battery!
Awesome video!
Thanks man!!!!!
Dude! Stoked that you got to review this The amount of bokeh was not quite as much as I was expecting, tbh. '
It felt like this lens and the 32-64(?) f/4 performed similarly in terms of sharpness and AF performance from your reviews.
I guess the question re the two lenses is this-do you ever feel like you need the extra stop of light to help control ISO a little better?
It feels like the GFX system is something I desperately want to get into because in my peasanty view, the bigger the sensor, the better the image (between color depth, accuracy, bokeh etc), and while I know that this is objectively false, it's fun to allow myself to think. I guess what I'm really asking by that statement (opaque, I know!) is this-how much of a specialty system is the GFX in your opinion? Would F/4 be fast enough, or even f/2.8? The 110 f/2 has always looked like the lens that I would most want to get into because of its speed and focal length (considering inverse crop as well).
I don't think you're far off, no. As for it being a speciality system, maybe as we're so spoilt for tech these days... it's a slightly slower and heavier style of shooting but with massively impressive results. I think i'd lean towards the f2 as well, I haven't had chance to really try it that much yet though! Next up is the 120, again f4 but still very capable.
my fave is the 110. looking forward to try the 45
Yes indeed!!
Really liking this series of lens videos for the GFX, the nifty 50 is certainly a lighter alternative to the 32-64mm when travelling etc, tried it briefly myself but not keen on the focus shuffling thing it does.
Ye, i wanna go in depth with a few more before declaring a favourite
jpeg is cooked while raw is not. if you want to know the base performance, raw is the way to go
The problem is most quick tests that shoot raw process them to death. A proper pixel peeping, scientific performance test however would be best from raw but minus the usual edits.
63mm for a 50mm.
Thats how medium format that system is.
