I'm pretty sure it's prototypes because on Instagram and Snapchat, she was wearing the same thing but made it black and white so we couldn't see the colours.

y’all- this actually works. I’ve been an amateur nail artist for about a year and my main problem is ALWAYS chipping. the holo taco top + base coat is actually magic. My manis lasts a good 2 weeks with barely any chips...it’s amazing.

Y'all these tips really DO work. I painted my nails two weeks ago and I'm moving this weekend, so I've been doing ALL sorts of things with my hands that I shouldn't do if I want my mani to last (picking up heavy boxes that don't have handles, using my nails to peel up the corner of a tape roll, doing LOTS of cleaning so my hands are often soaked in water) and my nails still somehow look pretty great???? There's only a minimal amount of chipping, and it's mostly on my index and middle fingers.
There were also multiple moments in my move where I was SURE I had broken a nail, but when I looked, either nothing had happened or some nail polish chipped off. Using nail polish saves nails!!!!

These tips are so helpful! I’ve got short nails and “wrapping the tips” has always seemed messy to me, but I’ll definitely give this a shot now that I’ve gotten the protective peel :)
so happy that Cristine is doing what makes her happy again!! she's actually gotten me super into painting my nails for the past month or so, which is something I would rarely do befoe
I’m a teacher, always using my hands and constantly either washing them or using hand sanitizer and I can get a weeks wear before I get a small chip on one nail. I change the polish after a week because I like to paint them and try different combinations of holo. Also because I start picking at the chip and that’s not good for the nail.
I never would've thought to put another top coat on later, but I know what I'll be doing with my nails when I get home. And the tip for wrapping short nails is great!

This nail polish is honestly amazing I went from breaking a nail everyday at work to I haven’t broken one in at least a month since I started daily wearing this nail polish.
Thanks for the tips!! I'm a chemist so I wear gloves for a large portion of my day at work and wash my hands a lot. Unfortunately this causes my polish to pop off like a peely even when using the long lasting base coat. I think some of these tips might help and my nails are getting long enough to wrap the tips a bit better :)
Mine pop off almost entirely after a couple of days even though I don't wear gloves or wash my hands many times a day...maybe some nails just don't work well with the base coat...such a shame :(
@@cristinaglv8064 yea. It seems that some nails are naturally more oily than others and it can cause issues when using any base coat.
My Play Rosé chipped after a day or two... I applied these tips and I've been wearing it for a week now, using a non-Holo Taco base and top coat. I'm sooo ready to buy those too now!

Ah. I might need to start buffing ever so slightly. My nail polish peels off in sheets no matter what base coat or top coat I use. Chunky glitters tend to be the worst offenders, too!
Ugh same. Never all my fingers though. It's always the pointer and pinky. Hoping this stuff will help
I have oily nails and I get a few more days wear time if I scrub with dish soap and then dehydrate before applying. Buffing makes my nails peel so I try to avoid. I think I got play rose to stay 6 days which is a lot for me.
@@patricia7710 After buffing and dehydrating and all that stuff I finally got it to last for over a week. I took it off before I could see how much longer, because I hadn't reapplied topcoat on my other hand

I have discovered a whole new respect for people who can paint their nails. You make it look so easy! It looks like a five year old pained my nails, not someone using their dominant hand. And the amount of times I smudged the polish? Insane. My incompetence aside, I love the polsih!
Absolutely phenomenal! I've been casually painting my own nails since I was 14 (self taught) and honestly have not been following many of these tips!
This tip about wrapping the tips of short nails using liquid latex makes a lot of sense. I almost want to take off my current nails to try it all out!
I applied those tips for my toe nails as well and after a month they still look amazing! Only the gap on my big toes gives it away that it's not fresh! Thank you so much!
I find that applying nail/cuticle oil throughout the week also helps; aside from hydrating your nails, it also hydrates the nail polish and makes it less prone to chipping. When your nails bend, your nail polish need to bend, too, or else you get crease lines! It's made my nails go from lasting a couple days to lasting a week, minimum.
Got the holiday collection, and the polish alone has been the longest lasting I've ever had! I can't even keep shellack past 3 days and they keep for 5!! Merci Simply!!!

These tips work! I’m so relieved that Christine decided to post these videos. I was struggling to get the polish to stay on longer than 1-2 days. My coats were too thick and they would peel off. This week I followed all of the steps from her last video, with a base coat instead of a peely coat. My mani is on Day 5, no chipping!! I also made her jojoba oil/ vitamin e mix and I’ve been using it 4x a day. My nails are stronger and I’ve been acrylic free for 2 months now. Thank you! ☺️
I am on Day 6 of holo taco, from the holo day collection. The deep blue color. I Never get 6 going on 7 days with no chips from regular nail polish, and glitter as well! I typically change my polish 2-3 times a week! Color me impressed!

I've been doing these things a while and they do work. I'll add that using cuticle oil daily also helps. It keeps the polish looking fresh and keeps it flexible so it doesn't chip as much. I can keep my polish on until the regrowth annoys me (except with Zoya for some reason.)
Acetone dehydrtaes really well. Gellish PH prep also works. Great video

Your long-lasting base coat is the best base I have ever used. I do everything you shouldn’t do with nails-open, pry, scrape, etc.-and my polish lasts so much longer than with other bases. The days of chipping my mani before I even go to bed are over!
Came back to this after three years to give myself a refresher, and I realised that the most important tip for long-lasting nails is missing: Use a high-quality nail polish! (Like Holo Taco!) Cheaper polish may be easier to get hold of, but with really good brands you honestly get what you pay for. My Holo Taco polishes last several times longer than the stuff I can pick up at the supermarket, every time!
I know this is probably old news but once coat black never fails to be super satisfying when it goes on in one coat

From your other videos had seen your comments about dehydrating nail plate first and wow what a difference that has made since I did most of the other steps already and my mani died quickly.,
How does she make them so perfect every time?! Mine are always lumpy or lopsided or start getting wrinkle lines in them even after I put a glossy taco 😭 I’m not cut out for nail polish 😞
Ah that sucks! I used to really struggle too. I've found that resting the brush against the inside rim of the nail polish bottle and letting the excess polish drip off really helps, especially with the glitter coats. It's kind of like sieving flour, you want most of the liquid to drain, leaving behind just enough polish and all the glitter. 💿❤
Maybe you need to take other brushes?
I got some brushes from nail art shop and this helps a lot. The brushes included at nail polish bottles are difficult.
Put it on another brush and it is done in three strokes.

My polish lasts forever 😍 I use the long-lasting base, the holoday collection and the glossy taco on top. It will last 14 days, normally that never happens 😍

I may be a lil late to the party but I always struggled with keeping nail polish on long, even with these tips that were also on the main channel of Simply quite long ago. But now I got the long lasting base and the black with a holo taco and I cant believe how easy it is to keep the polish looking good! Im so happy because I hated getting my nail polish chipped. I used to only wear super cheap drug store brand but I dont think I can go back to that anymore xD Im just raving as a happy costumer dont mind me

You've done a similar vid on this before, so I bought what I needed and did 95% of your steps and let me tell you, I'm hard AF on my nails....they last at least a week if not more for me (depending on the brand of nail polish). Which makes it worth it to do all that work! Thanks Simply ;)
