We can’t use a time machine to travel hundreds of years back into the past, but whenever you step on the soil of Angkor, you just feel connected and get in sync with its true nature. The songs of bird, the shade of big trees, the tribes of monkeys, the scent of rock and forest… and all those moments put you in a meditative state or satori. That’s what keep people revisiting Angkor city again and again. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

another excellent video Mark,,, yes remembering my first time to Angkor Wat / Siem Reap back in 2004... came for 7 days and just tinkered around from temple to temple,,,, relaxing in the shade somewhere admiring all the beauty.... best moment was two young monks coming and sitting with me ,,, we went for a walk to the moat of Angkor Wat and found a quiet place to relax till sunset discussing many topics in learning from each other and at times lots of laughter.... been back many times since .... not far as I now live in Issan...

Peaceful in the scene & in your narrative tone as well.
Watching this alone is a therapy from nasty news around the world.
    Thanks Mark,

I've tried not to think too much about all the travel I can't do because of COVID, and it's been a long two years (last trip was in 2019 to Vietnam, after watching many of your videos). This is a perfect video to get me to start thinking and planning again.

I didn't realize how massive these stone monuments are until I see you standing next to it. The amount of temples the Khmer empire built throughout their realm is astonishing. Even temples that are beyond the capital of Angkor are massive in scale and many of them are far larger than the ones in Angkor.

This was great Mark, we have been to Cambodia a few times and Angkor Wat was always crowded. It’s great to see the locals embracing cycling too. We haven’t heard much about Cambodia during the pandemic and wondered how the local population was coping. We’re very excited to see you back in your element 🤗

Think it'll be amazing Gerald. I prefer the wet season (July) - occasional torrential downpour. Everything is rich green and alive.

Dear Mark, it's good to see you travelling again and your video makes me curious to visit places like this again. It's great how you describe the spirit of such locations. And I really like the guitar outro - so placid;)

Hey Mark, I'm currently holding my visa and flight booking to bring me back to Vietnam just within 2 years of leaving, this Sunday. Great times, but I'm overjoyed to see you, a real travel icon back out there in the places we love! Also, I can only assume you made a full recovery from your bad health at the start of the pandemic?
    Cheers,
    Dan

Thanks Dan. Great to be on the road again and yes, I had a very fortunate recovery from my 2020 health scare.... Feeling very grateful. You're in for interesting times when you get back here too. Have a great trip.
