A video of a new Curotto Can Slammin Eagle on an older McNeilus FL. This one looks like another demo unit, the local WM location seems to get a lot of them...
Wow George, your videos are fantastic. This driver is very skilled, and this is a definate favorite! One of the local companies in my area called Trash-Away uses these to service condos. It's a yellow McNeilus on a CCC chassis. I'm always filming the recycling guy at these condos and I would love to catch the trash guy driving this type of front loader while I'm there on Tuesday.
The Slammin Eagle has a gravity lock hinge on the arm, so it doesn't get damaged while dumping, a stronger hinge, more wear strips, new grabbers. Just some improvements over where the CC2 was lacking. Glad you like the vid!
In the residential area I once lived, they had these... I didn't know the product name... Pretty ingenious...It turns a commercial front-loader into a residential claw unit... The claw and camera utilizes the truck's hydraulic and electric system, with a small additional console and the viewer installed inside the cab... The entire unit can be disconnected and freed from the front forks if the truck needs to be returned to commercial dumpster service...
George. John Curotto here. I like the footage of the new Curotto-Can Slammin' Eagle. I just did a presentation to a large public companys national meeting last week to over 70 people and used your video. Great job and keep them coming. I also would like to get you out a Slammin' Eagle T-Shirt with the same eagle that is on the front of the can is on the back of the shirt.
i use the curotto can here in NH its the best thing ever!!! same set up to with the McNeilus only brand new.. sucks how they dont come with Air Conditioning!!!! would make the job the best!! would love to move out there and not have to ever worry about getting out of the truck again!
dang! that is a nice lookin can! for someone who doesnt like automation much you definatly have some of the best vids of it! easy 5 stars hope for more. if you come across a heil 7000 could you get a little more please? ther not to common on here and there one of my favorites
wow very awesome video George :D these curotto can's are very good. and so is the quality of your videos man. that truck lets off a lot of black smoke eh. lol. fav nd 5 stars. great job :D
The F7000 is my favorite too, as far as ASLs go. It will be a bit hard to come by, most of ours have been replaced with the new Pythons on Mack LEs or TerraPro LEs. However, I do believe the yard saved 1 or 2 as spares. I'm trying for a yard visit within the coming months so we'll see.
Great footage George! So this'd be the third of their Curotto series now wouldn't it? - like what they called it :) Operator is very fast and seems experienced, knows his machine! A bit of a random statement, but noticed that whine of the brakes as the truck comes to a stop is kinda unique to Mack LEs.
very cool, thats unfortunate that the F7000 are almost extinct, they seem to be one of the more productive and reliable bodies IMO. i like how they were fitted with the autoreach grippers too. looked different in a good way.
@WasteCnxsideloader All the McNeilus M/A drivers around here still stand up all day in their trucks like they did on the old MSL's because they find standing more comfortable than sitting in those stupid seats
Yes, excellent videos, great view of the entire cycle! The eagle seems to go deep into the truck when dumping, so I guess a full packer cycle is always needed to clear all that space. But there seems to be no door on the top?
Couldnt even use this on half of my routes, that attachment makes the truck way too long to fit in some of the crawl spaces I have to go into. Dump time is quick but dumping the bucket negates any time you would have gained.
unoman2500 I agree with you that it might take away some time when you have to empty the dumpster, but you are also able to run the packer while collecting. It would definitely outpace other trucks but there are still others that you could say are more productive.
Two questions. First. On my Curotto II, the grabber pinches at the tip so you can pick up bags with it. This one doesn't seem to grasp any of the 65 gal cans. Is this new? Second. I see that we can have the controls on the left side too. I wish Allied knew that... I hate sitting on a "bar stool" all day!
Why does the truck's container have a tarp at the bottom? It never makes sense to me. Our garbage man has a similar truck, except it's not waste management and the guy does a really lousy job. He waits until the container overflows and doesn't pick up trash that fell out.
I love the way that gripper looks. all yellow.! its really nice :] But i gotta tell youh. GET MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ha ha good job i usually dont rate vids but i will do to this one!
I don't appreciate the harmful fumes that the truck produces every time it starts moving to the next bin. Maybe in the future, trucks like this will be electric instead.
I love you so much baby girl who is my favorite part of the first time in in the house of representatives of the first time in in the house of representatives of the first time in in
If a kid walked in front of the truck the driver would never see him. Productivity at the expense of safety. Plus you wouldn't think wm would have a truck on the road that had black smoke that bad. Hello?....it's 2015...think green
I know right in Fond du Lac we have to clean gas for the truck we used to have a front loser but now we have a side loder and the recycle cans are the same as us too but my house has a 100 gallon cart
Such a huge fan of garbage trucks back in 2011 when I was 4, came back here 10 years later now I’m 14

Mack LE McNeilus Front Loader with Curotto Can Slammin Eagle
Hard to believe those used to roam the area of mentor Detroit along with the WG leaches! No longer around but CNG and CNrG trucks and MRU rear loaders

@10nickw so the yellow lids on the trash cans are recycling and the green is trash?
