    As I continue along my day I constantly wonder how Berserk will end. So, I randomly come up with theories as to how the story will progress, and this video is an example of that: How Griffith will betray the Godhand, and how he will do that.
    Let me know: What do you think about this theory, and do you think that Griffith will truly betray the Godhand? Also, drop your own theories in the comments.

    The problem is the moonlight child who's body is possessed by Femto, MLC is pure and removed from evil, something that the elders on Elfhelm kept saying about him, so Griffith can't become good, he could always destroy other evil, but he will continue to be evil, MLC's role is to be the good in that body, once Griffith "becomes good" MLC would become pointless as a character, and he was the demon baby which was in the black swordsmen arc at the beginning of the series, so MLC plays too big of a role to become pointless like this... most likely MLC will take over the body slowly, he already controls Griffith by protecting Casca and he loves Guts too, which likely means Griffith might not even be able to harm Guts... What is really interesting is that MLC seems to have more control over the body than Griffith, because when he is in control during a full moon, Griffith is completely absent, only experiencing MLC's existence as a dream while MLC is in control.

    Imagine a world where you are built to be beloved. A world designed around your Ascension, where everyone loves you and you can do no wrong. Sounds great, right? But when you can do no wrong, then there are no limits to how bad you can be.
    Guts treated Griffith as a human being. Guts calls Griffith out, pushes back against him and thus also against the entire world. Griffith needs Guts because Guts is the only one who makes sense to Griffith, the only one not enthralled by him, the only one to treat him like a human being.

      You assume Griffith wants to be treated like a human being seriously that's the problem, with a lot of you guys you make assumptions thinking he's was just a regular guy that made a mistake because he was being controlled by fate, yet you ignore the fact that Griffith only got the opportunity to become a member of the God hand, is because he had a personality similar to their's, they literally called him their beloved child of darkness am sorry your understanding of Griffith is deeply flawed.

    Best video I've seen on Griffith. You fully understand his character. Knowing Miura was obsessed with Star Wars I see it likely that Griffith might sacrifice himself or do something earth shattering to defeat Void (Miura said "Void is the key") and end the cycle in order to save Guts much like Vader to Palpatine. I think these emotions he still harbours for Guts will ultimately result in him defying causality. I could see him and Guts teaming up at the end and Griffith losing his Godhand powers and returning to his human self with full emotions and vulnerability. Maybe they'll both die together in a quasi Devilman ending.

    Griffith being tortured was also part of fates plan for him because he needed to pay a price to become a member of the God hand and sacrificing the band of the hawk alone isn't enough he needed to suffer himself and sacrifice some of himself aswell.

    • @ishanpgupte
      @ishanpgupte ปีที่แล้ว +9

      i think the torture was necessary so he would finally lose all his humanity and agree to sacrificing the band of the hawk. because it wouldnt be such an easy thing even for griffith, hence the torture to make him go the final yard (that horrifying but awesome moment when he finally says 'i sacrifice').

  • @alexmartin6561
    @alexmartin6561 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    A thing people hate to accept is that it took the torture to break Griffith down enough to make the sacrifice. A peak health grif would reject the god hand as he can't trust the demon's words so readily. That's the point of the behelit. If you pay attention to all the apostle's back stories, they all activate the behelit at their worst moment in life. When they are most vulnerable and easily swayed. So 100% grif was manipulated by the god hand, as are most of the apostles. I wouldn't put it past grif to betray the god hand due to his pride and also aim to destroy the Idea of Evil itself.

    this just completely ignores Moonlight Child so its very unlikely that Griffith will have any sort of "development" like that, and going back to be buddies with Guts (ignoring all the burnt bridges there) or anything similar
    The only case for this is I can actually see Femto betray the other four members ...for more power, to become the only Kingsman, and be at the top of the top. that is the only possible context for him to do such a thing imo

    I think it’s made pretty clear the tears in 364 are the moon light boys. And the feelings of nostalgia or any feelings disappear when he transforms back into Griffith again. He’s referring to the transitional emotions.

    • @Earthbound500
      @Earthbound500 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm pretty sure that it is supposed to be Griffith's, since that type of tear has a name: the "manly tear" which is when a man that is not meant to show emotions needs to cry, he will only cry one single tear, because man shouldn't be seen exposed, weak, vulnerable; so the single tear is the expression of showing emotions while still being emotionless

  • @Jonjzi
    @Jonjzi ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I believe part of the significance of the Moon Boy is that it represents a part of Griffith's humanity that has survived his transformation into a demon. So even though he believed he proved to himself that visiting the field of swords would determine whether any of his past emotions remain, that probably all changes whenever he becomes the Moon Boy. So literally and symbolically there is part of Griffith's fighting against himself internally.
    It also seems like a very Miura-type thing to do by raising questions concerning moral paradoxes by taking the most horrific thing imaginable (the ray.p of Casca), and using it to be the catalyst which sets into motion the defeat of the god-hand.

    Griffith didn't care about Guts as a friend, he was obsessed with Guts because Guts was the first person to defeat Griffith in combat and earn his freedom of Griffiths control. Griffith couldn't handle it and proceeded to self destruct. Even when Guts came am rescued him, Griffiths first response was to try and choke Guts. Then, to add insult to injury, and knowing Guts and Caska were developing a relationship (Griffith was now loosing the control he had over Caska), he proceeds to commit the ultimate betrayal and force himself on Caska in front of Guts. How can anyone think Griffith cares about Guts and his well being is beyond me

    Really good video! When I finished reading 364 and saw the panel of griffith crying, I had a similar realisation. If the climax of the story is just a fight between guts and griffith, then no true change would have been accomplished in the end - the god hand would still exist and be able to just continue their plan (whatever it is) Having guts kill all the god hand members first, to get to the final confrontation between him and griffith in the end, would also just be kind of boring storytelling imo. Also, realising he has been manipulated and fighting against the godhand, is the only direction Griffiths character can go at this point, if he is not to become stagnant. Otherwise, what would have been the point in showing that Griffith still can feel emotions towards Casa, thanks to the moonlightboy, if this didn't push his character in a new direction? It would also be much more fitting with the way characters in Berserk generally are handled if we got to see some sort of "redemption" arc or at least got to realise, that the reason for the choices he made, isn't as simple as "because he is evil!"

    Sometime after the golden age, there's a quote like "Griffith has to fly higher and higher"

    There is also a hint towards that in the newer chapters, where Guts is asked about Griffiths' goals. And when it is mentioned that Griffiths' goal is a kingdom, Guts says that this is only a step for him, not his real goal. Taking into consideration, that Griffiths wants to rule all and everything including the Godhand, it is very likely that he will do something to put himself on top of the Godhand. What actions he will do to reach that goal remains an open question though, but betraying them seems plausible.

    Griffith may betray the Godhand, but not because of petty revenge. I would see Griffith betraying them because he wants to be at the top, above Void. Griffith wants to rise, not to achieve a goal, but to rise as high as possible. He will not be satisfied at any point in his ascension. I could also see Griffith betraying the Godhand because it is the plan of the Idea of Evil. The Idea wants a clean slate once in a while, and Griffith is its instrument.

    The god hand serve the Idea of Evil, and the idea of evil owes its very existence to the collective unconscious of humanity as a whole. If the idea of evil were to die, or perhaps even….be transformed into something more benevolent due to a certain….Hawk of Light instilling optimism and hope to humanity, this would threaten the God Hand. Or perhaps they would even cease to exist entirely. Maybe Void was the herald of a new desired god when he became a God Hand, and perhaps Griffith is the next evolution of that. If Void was the newest God Hand in that panel where we see him with four other members who no longer are part of it, Griffith very well be the one to remake the god hand. We know from what we’ve seen so far that there are only five members of the god hand(makes sense, it’s a hand). The first four serve as the progenitor of a new Hand in the case of the leader, and stewards, with the fifth member ushering in the end of the old order and the birth of a new one. I believe it’s entirely possible that Griffith, though he did horrible things, could very well be what frees humanity from the idea of evil and brings them to the next, more hopeful stage of history.

    I dont think Griffith would have a problem being manipulated by the godhand as in his eyes it was him getting off track on what he truly wanted and they reminded him that he has a greater purpose.
    Griffith crying in the panel is not Griffith's tears but the tears of moonlight boy. Griffith currently is pure evil and has no feelings for Guts, but the boy whose body he shares does have a freethinking mind and clearly cares for both Guts and Casca. When he transforms back to Griffith it could be seen as the boy being stripped of his parents and being submitted.
    Frankly im not sure how Griffith could turn the tides of the plot, but I strongly think the moonlight boy is the key to Griffith and the motion of causality.

    The happy ending would be

    I'm sure Griffith WOULD betray the Godhand if he COULD betray the Godhand.
    He can no more betray them than you could betray your own intentions. What he wants, they want. They are the instrument of his desires, including Femto.
    If Griffith DOES betray them, it will be to sacrifice them as well as himself, to earn an eternal Kingdom in the minds of man. Think about why Guts can't kill Griffith... you can't kill an idea. When Griffith meets the idea of evil, the thing he believes is God itself... what created that God? The collective will of people wanting to give reason for suffering. Well... Griffith wants it all, right? If people thought of Griffith whenever they wanted to think of something opposite of the idea of evil, then Griffith would essentially BE GOD.

    Idk.. this theory has potential.. it I don't think Griffith will go AGAINST causality... I think he will start trying to make causality work for him... And make causality work against the god hand.. because Griffith goes with causality.. he got a major hard on when he was told he was destined to become Femto.. Guts is the one who goes against causality.. not Griffith.. I think Griffith will go against the godhand but by try to bend causality and humanities will in his favor... And who's to say that the godhand aren't fine with Griffith becoming the most powerful and the ruler of the God Hand? We think void is the end all be all .. but maybe void is fine with being number two? 🤷‍♂️ We dont know the god hands ultimate goals.. so... That's my thoughts anyway..

    Remember that time when griffith had a vision , with casca and his kids(one named guts) , i think somehow that will be the end of berserk , griffith will destroy fate itself for all humanity to live free , guts will somehow die in the proces

    Sorry bro but this is just dumb. You’re clearly only read it once. Read it a few more times, and deep it a bit. Almost all of the interpretations you have made are wrong in my opinion.
    1st I don’t even know why everyone takes at face value what Griffith says to Charlotte during Bal night, he was clearly just spouting some pompous ideology (that he clearly does not believe) in order to impress the princess, as that was quite literally one of the few times he would get to talk to her. I think it is more than obvious from his actions that he does not believe what he said about true friendship and equality and all that crap.
    2nd When he transforms in front of guts from moonlight boy, those tears are not his, they are moonlight boy’s, again quite clear.
    3rd he is not tricked by the godhand. Yes he is influenced by them but not by all means tricked. And he is also fully aware of what happened, thus your theory does not make any sense.
    4th Sorry to say it, and I don’t like it too much either, but he is clearly in love with guts.

      It's not much that he's tricked, it's more that with his new god powers, he could have figured out that his whole life was carefully planned on some aizen shit. Plus it's very in character for griffith to aim even higher than the god hand. My guess is he's after the idea of evil itself.

    bro i think you really couldn't put pieces together. i get your points but its not something new and you didn't say anything we didnt hear. its not the greatest theory either you just overhyped.
