This game is awesome, I wanted more weapon types, when I saw the loop of three weapons I was a but disappointed, because In my mind I was thinking and salivating that there were more different weapons in the skill tree 😅, but nope only three for each, but I’m happy with the game. At this moment my party is Val,Palamena, and Morley about to tackle the Salamando Area.
Awesome! Wishlisted on the Steams. Now, next on the agenda: New tales game when? :P Cannot agree more on the presentation. I remember having the same feeling with the game Eternal Sonata (which created a Chopin enjoyer out of me)
I loved this entry! 8/10 for me mostly because i noticed that the emotions that the characters expressed didn’t show on their faces with in-engine cutscenes. Other than that, the game was beautiful, and the gameplay was engaging. The skill system was a bit lacking, but the ability to swap your loadout was nice. Carina's voice was a little out of nowhere considering her parents don't sound southern, but otherwise I really enjoyed the english voiceover
In Trails of Mana if you didn't know about it already, certain characters who are in the party when you create the party gives different story outcomes. So you have to make sure you have the right 3 characters to get the different endings/stories 😊
Going back to the village after a certain event happened, was really well acted. Otherwise I found that any NPC, quest givers, was not presented in a good way... No dub, white font on a transparent background... Didn't make me wanna read... The treaures, grizzly, and shiny made exploration a chore... I didn't get lost in towns, rather went to collecting to satisfy my OCD.... The story was good, not as good as Dragon Quest XI, though it felt a bit similar... To one point. It was a good game, not a great Mana game. Not worthy of the first three, and certainly better than four... Though totally different.
i like secret of mana , i did finish trial of mana which is basicalluy this game 1.0 . So i really would like to play this one but i will wait for a discount , on ps5 right its pricier that any AAA game lol
Having completed Visions of Mana, I am currently playing the Metaphor ReFantazio demo and am very pleased with it. I will definitely be buying the full game when it comes out in October.
My only complaint about this game was too little fan service in the form of Angela G-strings in dark path classes, villains with comically oversized titties, and intentionally abrasive Charlotte voice acting.
Its development team/studio is shut down (reportedly a day after launching this game). So I wouldn't expect a next game from them nor any updates. It's a shame really. It's the reason I'm not buying it. Great video tho Adam.
I wish I liked the game, I went for the 100% and got all achievements, and I absolutely hated it. Was great until chapter 7, but as a completionist it hit a brick wall the moment you get flying due to horrible quest design, 80% of the side quests were dropped in chapter 7 and the quest tracking system is not equipped to give you 80% of the side quests at one time. Especially since you can only track 1 and you can’t change your current tracked quest while flying. If you aren’t a completionist I say go for this game, the first journey to the mana tree is great, but if you’re the kind of person to go for everything this game is the definition of insanity.
The quest design is certainly one of the weaker aspects, though I didn't find it to be overly frustrating, and in fairness, you don't need to do all of them to unlock every achievement
Nice review, if a little too positive for my taste. I played through the game on Normal about two weeks ago and personally I didn't like the skill system that much. It felt like it was overly simplified and built on the idea that people would inevitably waste their points on skills they didn't need. I played on Normal and thought of a good setup and ended up with a ton of elemental points that I didn't need. I also found the game too easy, except for the final boss. Still, I would rate this game 8/10 because it has one thing above all else: heart.
@@Creslin321 It is because too many games nowadays hold gamers hands, the second you take the handholding away people complain a game is too hard. Gamers as a whole have been conditioned to having everything handed to them and not having to figure anything out themself. Just look at how many people were butthurt over elden ring, which is arguably the easiest from soft game.
I was massively disappointed with this game, it's also very blurry on PC by default. Many little annoying input bugs the devs won't ever fix. Maybe fractured dream will be good...
I played the demo on pc, and it was fine (probably it can change with the settings). I didn't notice any bugs, but I'm concerned to buy a game for a dead studio. The money will not go to the developers and the bugs will never be fixed. I'ts a shame, I will never be able to play it unless I pay the assassins of the studio that are holding the game.
@@jordicoma The devs already got paid. You get paid your salary during development. Typically developers don't see a dime of profits a game makes after its released. It does suck to be let go immediately after release, though. It sucks that if there are bugs or calls for DLC or a sequel, it won't be this team fixing or making that stuff. But, it's not a typical scenario where money goes to developers post-game release (unless it's a small indie studio or something in the developer contract states they get a percentage of sales).
You cant play 5 minutes without a dumb cut scene, too many crap to collect its a shore, bosses are just sponges, music is desapointing. And no coop play.
Thanks for watching! What are your thoughts about Visions of Mana?
I was sad when I realised that i finished the main story!
Great review! The mana series is one of my favs and I think its cool that you credited the studio and wished them luck!
I will be getting this on Friday finally.
And as a side note … I love your voice. It’s oddly satisfying and comforting.
That's awesome! 😀
Was waiting on this one! Thanks for the vid Adam 😁
Nice!
What an awesome looking game, good thing its next gen only and im perma stuck to last gen 😞
Thanks for the nice review. I removed the game from my whishlist a few weeks ago, but now it's back on.
@patépété Nice!
Great review, the demo didn't really click with me, but this had inclined me to give it another go
The game really didn't give the game justice...
What game should I cover next?
How about Metaphor ReFantazio?
Holy cow this is by far the best review for this game out there!
Much appreciated!
Really good review, I'm convinced to try this game
Awesome!

I'd probably get this if not for metaphor. But I'll get it eventually
I'm pumped for Metaphor!
been waiting on a new mana sword game
I had so much fun with this game. Have you tried Pal World yet? Im curious if I should get it or not
I haven't checked it out yet. Now that it's on PS5, I may have to give it a go

Did you play Final fantasy 7 Rebirth? I didn't see a review!
I haven't played it yet. On the list tho 😁

Thanks!
Too many cutscenes for my taste. Have heard it is in the double digits of hours.
Definitely a lot, tho you can skip most

@@adamscottgames keep it up!
Unfortunately the studio begins visions closed down as soon as it was released.... so another mana game is unlikely
Yeah, that's likely the case unless Square Enix hands it to another studio.
technically, it's a reshuffle. The devs are moved to different team after they've ramped up the VoM project

Your complaints stem on it being too easy, then play on hard lmao
Most modern games for some reason feel like "normal" is what supposed to be easy, and "hard" is what supposed to be normal.

Sounds like you loved it? 🤣
There is an elemental system at play that is like Rock 🪨 Paper Scissors. There is also a way to get Careenas strong weapon at the Aery , early.
This looks like grand blu fantasy but bigger. Is that a fair assessment?
There are certainly some similarities - both being action RPGs, though the combat is probably easier in Visions.
