Hey nomad, in the digital foundry interview with the bluepoint developers that was just uploaded they specifically mention that they added the coins (relics) in to the game as a nod to you! It's so cool to know you had an effect on the remake and they added stuff to acknowledge you!
venezolane1 wont happen mate, Blue Point themselves stated no change from the original, although i've been crossing fingers for months, hoping for extra colossi myself 😂😂😂
@Ryan Stewart They are, however to add in the extra Colossi would mean that that they would have to totally rework/rebuild the landscaping, AI pathing/mechanics, and "flow" of the game. If you haven't noticed, the variation and flow of the different Colossi (Bipedal, Quad, big, small, back to Bipedal and so on) adds a very nice touch to the game; which means if they added a few more Colossi, they'd have to figure out how to continue that flow and how to fit it into the game where it won't totally redo the entire game in general. It could be only a reference, but the fact that the horn is located there and Nomad posted an early SotC video (The one where Emon throws a horn at the pool) makes me think there's more to it. That horn, and that hall, are located just below the pool... strange.
Speculation: Maybe when Dormin was sealed, they sealed his sword and one of his horns, the other being in Emon's possession. I mean something like that. They could be hinting at something from early development, some Ueda's discarded ideas (Because we know he sent a letter about changes he wanted in the remake)

It will be a great conversation when i get older (yes im an old gamer) with my friend and brothers. And you'll be on that great conversation too. Thanks again!
Karma is real That's why it's nice. There was no last secret that nomad or anyone else hadn't had already found. The devs knew people were looking, so they added this as a last secret so people could say that they'd finally found it. It's a bit underwhelming, but really cool. The noises and the look of the sword is damn creepy and fits dormin perfectly, so I can totally believe that it has something to do with him.
I just got it an hour ago! I'm so happy even though I had to look around for 1 stray relic I missed. I hope the door stays open or we can at least open it again.
This was so good man, thanks for sharing. Though I wish the secret told something about the relationship between the boy and the girl, you know like a back story, like getting a vision of the memories when she was alive.
Correct me if I mistook something but back on the ps2 game theories era people try to find hidden paths by wander's outfit design, and there was this video that theorized on how for some reason there was this weird wall on the outside of the temple that fit with the design(I think? I don't recall) or just looked like a moveable wall, but there was nothing inside, I think you could say it's this dormin room we got nowadays, a reused idea?
That is the so called 'Intersecting Points' theory, which never led to anything. The symbols on the stones are just decorative and have no deeper meaning, which is what the idea depended on.

overdoingevery1 No, Bluepoint added 79 gold coins or "enlightenments" hidden around in the remake. After you collect them all, you can pray at the wall and get the sword.
Aw that infamous door. I remember thinking way back on the PS2/PS3 version that somehow that door could be opened & there would be a path leading to the balcony that protrudes out from the structure on the other side. Both the door & the balcony have a slight blue hue to them & that's why I thought there was a connection. I'm sure just about everyone who played the original game thought there was a way to open that door. XD
I wonder what the translation of the words Dormin will say when we enter the temple and after we take his sword. The Dormin language is a mixture of languages isn'it? But if someone could figure out it would be a great help
I like to think that after sealing Dormin there was some leftover escence of Dormin and since it wasn't enough to make it a Colossi they sealed it in a sword and hid it, that's why it's called Sword of Dormin, not because it's theirs but because it's made of them.
Tá excelente, a única coisa que eu posso recomendar é colocar o "do" antes do "you think" pra melhorar na concordância, de qualquer forma deu pra passar a mensagem sem problemas e é isso que importa.
Am I the only one who thinks this door should have been put up in the secret garden instead? Just so the journey up there was worth something more than stamina and health deducting edibles 😅
That would have been a good place. The pre-release version (PS2) allowed full access to the very top of the temple. Not sure why the final release version scrapped that. I always used to think the door would open somehow & inside would be a path leading to the balcony that protrudes out from the structure on the other side. The door & the balcony both had a slight blue hue to them. That's why I thought there was a connection.
Does the sword do anything special? Is it as strong as the Queen's Sword? Or does something happen if you beat every colossus with it in a run? Maybe if you bring it to the garden something happens? Like jumping into the pool from the top with it equipped? Is there a meaning to the horn? Do the enlightenments unlock any other doors in the world?
JesusIsAMoose it's not very special. Same sort of damage as the Queen sword but slower health regeneration. By the time you get the sword you more that likely already have a huge health bar, so it's not really more challenging in any way.
It's been 5 years & so far no secret has been discovered in connection with the Sword Of Dormin. It's possible there isn't any. But the dev's at Bluepoint Games knew quite well just how many fans of the original game spent countless hours trying to uncover anything new & out of the ordinary. I have no doubt there are still secrets beyond the gold coins waiting to be found & I certainly wouldn't be surprised if the Sword Of Dormin is hiding something extra too.
Hey Nomad, whenever you do your explorations of the game have you ever explored that second doorway in Dormins Shrine? I climbed to the top of the tower, near the entrance of the Secret Garden, and parachuted towards it but I think a barrier kept me from getting closer to the ledge although I could see it in view.. I’m new to your channel with all your amazing content.. have you explored that little section? And if so, is it anything?? You can see the doorway from the starting menu.. before I first climbed to the top I thought that was the doorway to the secret garden.. 😅
Jacob Hanshew Note: The first person to find the horn was a Brazilian from the FAISK channel. the boring is the people who print the video where FAISK finds the horn and these guys do not give the credits due to him
I really miss the emotional relationship between the Queen and her daughter from Ico...maybe Dormin is the King. And so together the Queen and Dormin probably once ruled that world...there’s some kind connection to all this...but what’s so fascinating is that you(the player) is entering this barren and quiet lonely ancient world where your slowly putting the pieces to the puzzle together.i really wish that Sony makes another shadow of colossus game...the last 2 games were extremely popular and sold well there’s no doubt in my mind that they will abandon the series..anyway Nomad hats off to you this is another great secret revealed I just wish the game have a coin counter that tells u how many coins u have collected and how many more to collect that would really help. However I find it every strange that no one have not reached out to Bluepoint games to ask them about the coins..
Does that sword have special properties? Ive never played shadow of the colossus. This was just in my recommended and i mean i cant not look at a cool sword.
*NOMAD YOU ARE AN OLD SCHOOL SOTC FAN JUST LIKE ME, JUST LIKE US. YOU LIVE THE SOTC THEORIES!! BLACKBIRD, THE 17TH COLOSSI* *THE SWORD OF DORMIN IS AMAZING, BUT I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT JUST IT?* *THERE MUST BE SOMETHING MORE!!* *I KNOW YOU AS A FAN WOULD WANT SOMETHING MORE TOO*
Hay just saying but it's weird to me that when you get a another sword and you select the another it gives you a 2nd sword and there for gives 2 sword.
Ciao Nomad. Can we actually consider the sword as part of the lore? I always thought that the normal sword it could be a sort of key in order to convey the green/azure energy that we could see in the game
Congrats man. While I thought the inclusion of this hidden side quest was really fun, the sword of dormin is an underwhelming reward for it all. Considering that this is the 2nd time Bluepoint has remade this game I find it a huge missed opportunity to not include something a lot grander than this. The 8 unused colossi would of course be the best case scenario but I do feel that it is asking a bit too much. Just 1 one more colossi would’ve been acceptable or even the ability to climb to the top of the shrine of worship, maybe even a remade eye of the colossi item, but just another sword? The whole thing wreaks of unused potential, I want to believe there’s something more to do with the sword but how could it still go undiscovered to this point? I guess we’re lucky they even included this, finding the enlightenments was actually a lot of fun and it may be too soon to speak since DLC is still a possibility. It just feels like a slap in the face to superfans who would buy this game a 3rd time to not include something better than this
Mr. Spiff exactly. Hell, id even be fine with this sword being at the top of the shrine of worship, wouldve been a more interesting area for me, and a nice view
I think all of us feel the same. Bluepoint did an amazing job with this remake. The Sword Of Dormin is a cool sword. However, being able to climb all the way to the top of the main temple is something every fan of the game has wanted to do since the PS2 version. On a positive note, at least we have a gorgeous looking game & new places to explore that were not possible before.
How many years apart do you think SoTC and ICO are? I feel the actions within SoTC are what helped propel the actions of the Cursed fate on women to bear horned children, Wander removing the bonds which caged parts of Dormin sealed away from the mortal realm, releasing which was the curse. Overall I'd say a span of 50-100 years to be the least.
Llendar Kisaragi Since all horned children are descendants of Wander, and there’s multiple caskets as well as Shadow Children within Ico, I’d say there’s about 1000 years between them, give or take.
It's not that much.....
...But also, it's EVERYTHING.....

The black light can't be used to find anything afterwards?
I was asking myself the very same question!!! 😱
Sadly, I don't think so... the Sword of Dormin was the end of the secret. As far as I know, the sword of Dormin has no other use.
Still trips me the fuck out to see this game in such highly detail.
The secret was a secret because it wasnt implemented until later on. Who would have thought?
Reaching that room is no simple feet, congratulations!
That horn is very interesting, these games just keeping getting tied more and more together.
Jacob Hanshew Note: The first person to find the horn was a Brazilian from the FAISK channel.
the boring is the people who print the video where FAISK finds the horn and these guys do not give the credits due to him
Congratulations!
“What is Jerusalem worth?”
“Nothing . . . . Everything.”
Holy hell, we or mainly just me might need a explanation
Good on you man, what an amazing extra!! 👏
There's gotta be something else with this sword... it's almost like you are taking dormin out of the castle
What does it do? Except glow like colossus eye and shine black.
Do massive damage but reduce your health regeneration.
Has anyone ever checked the audio from that last room. Because its in reverse.
Really? What does it say?
Does that sword have special properties? Ive never played shadow of the colossus. This was just in my recommended and i mean i cant not look at a cool sword.
Thomas Kaimann It makes your health regeneration worse but in return, it gives you a massive damage boost.
_He pants before he's even finished taking the first step._
*NOMAD YOU ARE AN OLD SCHOOL SOTC FAN JUST LIKE ME, JUST LIKE US. YOU LIVE THE SOTC THEORIES!! BLACKBIRD, THE 17TH COLOSSI*
*THE SWORD OF DORMIN IS AMAZING, BUT I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT JUST IT?*
*THERE MUST BE SOMETHING MORE!!*
*I KNOW YOU AS A FAN WOULD WANT SOMETHING MORE TOO*
Is there ANY way to get it in PlayStation 2 edition? If not, is there a mod/download that you can put on the ps2 disc so you get Dormin's Sword?
Where does the darkness point to? O: what does dormin say at 1:30? O:::
Hay just saying but it's weird to me that when you get a another sword and you select the another it gives you a 2nd sword and there for gives 2 sword.
O mito ataca novamente!!
Nomad, the invisible lands still exist in H8 despite your claims that the developers removed unused content
Yes I know, but I meant the beta mountains and Dam which are much more interesting than running across endless ocean ; )
now would it be cool if there was one of the unused Colossi either lying dormant or dead.
That would be "neat" but not make sense
Now i see the horn of ico haha
Ciao Nomad. Can we actually consider the sword as part of the lore? I always thought that the normal sword it could be a sort of key in order to convey the green/azure energy that we could see in the game
I wonder what Dormin is actually saying in this temple
Es verdad lo que cuentas en tu blog acerca de la creación de este lugar?
@Ryan Stewart except they have a valid point dickhead, don't sound so much like a prick.
Also, CONGRATS on a job well done! :]
Llendar Kisaragi Since all horned children are descendants of Wander, and there’s multiple caskets as well as Shadow Children within Ico, I’d say there’s about 1000 years between them, give or take.
Is it to carry the fire to this room?
When you reach the sword you can hear dormin, translate for the next secret
I have SO MANY QUESTIONS right now
*HO YEA!!!*
As I was watching this, I was like "this is fake, but where did he get the resources to make this!?" Then I realized it was real and freaked out!
i just know that it's not a remaster but a remake. brb buying this.
1:58 we need to talk about that horn.
Its a reference to nimrod, who dormin is based off of
Is this just for the ps4 remake or was this in the others as well and I completely missed this ?
My door isn't glowing
Now the fun begins.....
I'd like to know if it's possible to glitch Into this areA
Really wish 1 of these days I'll get to meet you and we could share theories
