Decentralized Renewable Energy-based Solutions in partnership with Odisha Livelihoods Mission

SELCO Foundation has pioneered on creating and strengthening the ecosystem for last mile energy solutions for poor people in Odisha. SELCO Foundation focuses on alleviating poverty and fighting climate change through Decentralised Renewable Energy Driven Solutions in the aspirational districts of Odisha dominated mostly by SC and ST population. The region sees various development initiatives launched by the Odisha Government with support from Government of India. Odisha Livelihoods Mission under the aegis of Mission Shakti has been promoting and empowering vulnerable communities especially women by enhancing their livelihoods through access to bank credit and other financial, technical and marketing services.
SELCO Foundation partnered with Odisha Livelihoods Mission in order to improve the income generation and resilience of the communities by equipping them with DRE technology for increasing productivity and reducing manual labour. The partnership builds the capacity and skills of the end users on usage, operation and maintenance of the technology. The partnership has successfully implemented more than 8 types of technology solutions covering more than 40 units of Decentralized Renewable Energy powered technology impacted more than 500 vulnerable population across Kalahandi & Rayagada districts of Odisha.
