I think I know why shadow got to earth in the post credit scene of sonic movie 2 he was falling to earth as eggman was falling to his not death probably
This fan film has given me a lot to chew on for what they could do in the third movie, but it also raises my expectations since now I'm more then ever anxious for how they handle Shadows backstory
I'm honestly not expecting them to send movie Sonic into space and instead have the ARK just be a specialized research facility on Earth with Maria yearning to go outside but can't due to any oxygen not filtered through the facility being fatal to her. Everything with the raid will still happens with Shadow and Maria attempting to escape but before she can open the exit, Maria is shot and gives Shadow her final wishes before he is captured and taken to Gerald to be completed as an emergency weapon for the military. Gerald wrought with thoughts of revenge puts those same thoughts into Shadow's mind and warps his memories of Maria to be her asking for vengeance rather than for him to go on and live the life that she couldn't. The military, none the wiser of Gerald's tampering, seal Shadow away until he is needed. 50 years in the future, Either Eggman or Stone release Shadow with only one thing on Shadow's mind... to grant Maria's ""wish"" and use the power of the Master Emerald to wipe humanity of the face of the planet which Eggman/Stone is fine with since the Eggman Empire doesn't need anyone other than Eggman/Stone to thrive.

Nothing in that scene shows or implys anything about the ARK. In fact, It would make more sense for Shadow's stasis pod to be in a military base on Earth like it was in SA2.

This was pretty good. Really paid homage to SA2 while adding in a really good backstory and discovering Shadow's abilities. Obviously, Sonic Movie 3 ain't gonna be this so let's not get lofty standards but this was a really nice job. Very impressed
It’s more so can sonic movie 3 do shadow justice and be as faithful to the source material as possible, Movie 2 improved over Movie one with respect to being a “sonic” movie, but I hope they can go even bigger for the 3rd one

I absolutely adore this fan-film. It really should be the official prologue for Sonic 3...and I hope it is somehow. They shouldn't have to do it all over when they can ask his permission to connect it! It's that amazing!
This Project Shadow Prologue film is very good and I really love it. The design for Shadow is very good. My favorite scene was when Shadow was fighting the Gun Soldiers and destroyed. The ending with Shadow seeing Black Doom was pretty crazy. While always I love that video.
I really hope they keep the dark backstory in the third movie, its gonna be darker than the first and second movie, but they gonna have shadow they have to.

I think it's supposed to connect all of these characters. Sonic lost his only protector, Knuckles lost his entire species along with his father, both tribes died in conflict. Tails faces the childhood of being discriminated of his two tails, so he went off to find someone he could look up to. And now...Shadow the Hedgehog, lost his family and home to the government as he was seen as a dangerous project. Now, he only seeks revenge, but maybe Sonic could change his ways...
This whole thing was absolutely amazing and fire! The animation on Shadow looks so good and realistic. It would be cool if these scenes were featured in the movie. Yeah, this is kind of like a throw back to SA2. I feel like some parts of this will be in the 3rd movie, but we'll have to wait and see. I don't if the 3rd movie will be better than the 2nd movie, but I say it might. But yeah, they did an amazing job with this! It's cool!!

If i was to give an opinion to this fan made film, it's impressive a 💯/10 we literally knew who Shadow was before becoming a mean character and the reason behind that and Black Doom,if we're to see him in Sonic 3, it's 🔥 because according to an article i read,he's said to be somebody who torments Shadow over his past and he's to say he's kinda like "a forgotten character" and the most similar reference we can see to this backstory is Knuckles. He also lost everything he had when he didn't see his father again when fighting Long Claw and he wanted to get revenge because of that but later he realised not everything is about revenge and power and got a good character development. Hope we see that too with Shadow in Sonic 3
I love how many game references were cleverly put into this fanmade video, and I really hope that Paramount shows Shadow's backstory so that the people who don't know the full story plot of SA2 can understand why he will get shown as a bad guy character for an amount of time in that movie. I watched this video this morning and I like it a lot. What gets shown happening in it really can make anyone feel sorry for him. From how game accurate the Sonic 3 movie will be, I so strongly hope that 1 of the things that they do make accurate is a scene of Super Sonic & Super Shadow being in an outerspace battle with the biolizard having the ARKs eclipse cannon stuck up it's butt, with the song "Live and learn," playing during that battle scene like it was in SA2!

I'm sure that the crew behind the Sonic Movie 3 would come up with something similar of Shadow's backstory, the official version perhaps. But we'll have to wait and see when it comes out, cause there are some stuff that are yet to be revealed, like Shadow's VS, whenever or not that Jim Carrey will reprise as Dr. Robotnik, and more.
Yes shadow was probably like sonic when he was with Maria happy, kind, heroic, serious at times, sometimes a bit goofy but of course that changed of course after Maria was killed he lost faith in humanity and he lost a piece of his soul, he became angry, violent, bitter, and ruthless in the beginning but after a while he just became grumpy and distant he’s afraid to get close to people and those who care about him because he doesn’t want to lose them like he did with Maria it may have been 50 years ago but it feels like to him just yesterday it’s still sometimes fresh in his mind, so he distanced himself from others, currently he can be kind at times but he still was never the same after the one he cared about was taken away from him, he loved Maria more than anything in the galaxy I know the story but it’s still sad to see this happen to him

i believe the end credit scene only shows shadow when he woke up somewhere on earth. possibly after he was ejected from the ARK
