I just watched this movie for the first time, tonight. And I'll say, holy cow, that was an incredible experience, that movie is one hell of a time capsule.
Early summer and post-E3 before the Fall season when no games are coming out are the best Bombcasts.Tangents everywhere and it still goes to 3+ hours runtime.
There's some magic in the early summer Bombcasts. I started listening two years ago and that was the Space Pizza episode. Last year around this time was the Peter Dinklage inside a pig episode. This particular episode may be my all-time favorite episode ever. I don't even know who Riff Raff is.
I maintain if the Super Mario Bros movie were called something else, but kept EVERYTHING ELSE the same, except the main characters' names, then it becomes a weird sci-fi film with a cult following that inexplicably has Mario Bros references in it that get chalked up to "it was the 90s, those Mario Bros were everywhere."
