Wild paint jobs, Big fat rear tires, Chrome and polished wheels, Tunnel rams...ALL these cars were built, not bought. Owners took pride in their cars not their wallets. Great pictures. Thanks.
I was a kid in High School back in the mid to late 70's when all the muscle cars where just starting to be sold off by the original owners as used cars. You could buy them for a dime a dozen back then. In 1978 I bought a rust free southern California1970 Buick GS Skylark 455 for only $700 with only 70,000 original miles on it. You could not touch a car like that today for less than $50,000 to $60,000 today.
I was showing my 2 sons pictures of old muscle cars l had in the 60's and 70's. They said you guys had all the cool cars. I told them other than the 4 corvettes l owned, l don't remember paying more than 1600.00 dollars for any of them but you gotta remember they sold for 3295.00 back then. 3695.00 if you wanted a big block. Went through a lot of cars back then. Who woulda thought ??? Good old days.
Wow, those sure were the great days of funky metallic paint jobs, cragar wheels and Superior Slots, Formula Super Stock , 50/60 series tires, tunnelrams, Hurst/ Mr.Gasket Shifters, just name a few, wow!!! I also remember World Of Wheels Custom Car Shows, now these old muscle cars are getting restored back to original, like I'm doing with my '73 Plymouth Roadrunner!!! Mopar Nate Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Muskegon Michigan. A black man used to cruise 69/70 Roadrunner convertible. Lime/gold custom paint, Keystone classics. High and proud on fat tires. Probably 1973/4? Lime ghost flames. Always wonder what happened to that car. Black conv top. 4 speed as I recall. Hope you still have it.❤
So many cars so little time 1977 my neighbor that went to High school brought his 67 Camaro show car in a wild green 427 rat to school . UN REAL what you could find .
It sure does- did you know they dubbed in the sound of Bob Falfa's '55 Chevy from the drag race scene in American Graffiti for the when they sped off in that Mopar? go listen to both- it's unmistakable!
Great video...thanks! I remember going from the small town I lived in on the central California coast, to San Luis Obispo on Thursday night for cruise night during high school (72-76). Two multi-lane one-way streets made the "circuit"....and we would hang out on the corners, checking out the hot rods and cool paint jobs. ✌😎
So many people find a car like these a decide to restore it to stock completely ruined a period correct timepiece turning it into a boring stock camaro cuda charger or whatever. 😢😢

Those were the days, although looking back it was kinda sad all the crazy mods we made to those very rare machines. They were still cool 😎.
Skyjackers and cutting a little sidewall. Good times. 🦅
Great stuff, Tumblr used to have a great website up...70s Street Machines...with the best tunes and memories. miss that.
I’ve got a 70 challenger I’m trying to replicate a street machine. I wasn’t alive for the 70s but never too late to try it out.
Another AWESOME video Steve and thanks for the memories!!!!! 👍👍😁
Thanks for watching Bill!!
Awesome video ❤
Had to watch this video twice.
I had to take another look at the maverick at the beginning, I had a 67 Falcon painted EXACTLY like it;!!
Damn that was cool! I miss those days.

Makes me wonder where they all went? I am sure some got painted or redone but all of them?
I wonder where these cars are now.
pissed that i sold my 15 x 4 Cragar front runners, I could use a pair now.
FUNNY, I DON'T SEE MY 73' "BIG BLOCK" CHEVY VEGA 😎
The weird things we did. We must have all been on drugs or something.
