It does involve around trial and error the first time you play it blindly, even more so if your first run is on hard mode. But those are old games for you. Reminds me of Splinter Cell 1 a bit. Just a plain old school Stealth game.
Nice review. My first playthrough was on hard difficulty. From the name alone I understand it was from UnEpic developer which I liked and was really interested to see how it would turned out. Trailer certainly made me chuckle in places. And while some humor was a meh for me, in most cases it did grown on me. I like both MSX2 Metal Gears and NES port, Snake's Revenge and of course Ghost Babel. So for me, gameplay-wise, UnMetal did pretty much every thing right with a lot of mechanics of it's own which I also like. Yeah, some boss battles can stretch a difficulty curve a little and skill system did make me wonder if I picked the right thing. Pretty sure it should be possible to complete the game without any skill unlocked. Trial and error stuff like plot choices like in case of Drill Sergeant can frustrate a somewhat, but there's those moment when things just plays out for different experience. For me it was giant rats chased me in the sewers while I was a big chunk of cheese. Overall it was a great fun to play.

The parody aspect and all the “comedy” 🙄from the demo really worried me about this game. I figured it would just go full comedy and be bad to average in the gameplay department. This actually seems like a real game though. I had kinda made my mind up about it already but I may at least consider picking it up now.
Hey I watched your MGSV review. I too show great enthusiasm for that game. If you haven’t tried it yet I’d HIGHLY recommend Horizon Zero Dawn. I hadn’t tried it until last year but in my opinion its the best open world action game Ive played since MGSV. It almost feels like a weird spin off

Glad I’m not the only Ghost Babel fan. That game (and the MSX games obviously) feels so ahead of it’s time.
I really thought that the hardest boss in the game was the Boat Gunship fight, unlucky me chose the least maneuverable boat.
