Thanks so much for making this video saved alot of money. I have zero car experience but followed the steps in your video and got it done. Hardest part was taking out the clicks attached to the wires. For those trying to do this themselves make sure you have pilers really came in handy for clip removal.

Good job. Real world automotive repair. Thanks for not editing out your struggles.
Thank you. That’s my goal, to show the actual cases that might happen and encounter during the process .
Thank you for your support 🙏
Thank you, gonna do mine. One of the better videos for the CRV on YT
@@MomentoMori769 Thankx brother 🙏
@@autopurlieu I finished it today, a couple of tips for viewers of this comment thread: there are 9 bolts total, also another way to move the coil packs is releasing the wires near the intake, (this was a forced alternative - since my hands are too fat to get the last plug near the fans). I also changed my PCV value which was very easy to do as well. Thank You Auto
Thank you so much for sharing this video!!! My wife has the exact same vehicle with a small leak around the valve cover gasket as well. After watching this video, I am certain that I can change the gasket myself. Salute 🫡!!!!!
Thanks for your vid! I’ve only worked on a different brand of car manufacturer-in other words I’m not familiar with Hondas whatsoever, but want to help my parents CR-V out, and I found your video
🙏 thank you for your support
Good video, thanks. My GF's CRV with about 100,000 mikes just started leaking from the valve cover and I have never done this job on a Honda. Doesn't look too bad at all.
Thank you. Yes they are very doable with proper basic tools . Just don’t rush it
Thank you so much, I just did mine after watching your video, it went smoothly.
@@paulkruth9616 I’m glad it worked out 🙏
i like your video. i just don't like the background music; can't hear you properly while you're talking some important stuff. thank you for uploading this.
Thank you for your support and honest feedback.
I will keep that in my on my next video. 🙏
Thanks for the tutorial bud, worked out great for me. That connector underneath the alternator is a real pain though, probably most of the time spent was just trying to unhook that.
Thank you for the info I was able to follow your instructions and visual
thank you for this video! great work!
I’m glad it worked out for you
@@autopurlieu which brand of valve cover gasket would u recommend for this model? i bought a super cheap one on ebay and its not holding up well
@@McDzy I only use Fel-pro
how many miles on the vehicle; mine CRV is at 120K currently, i saw it yesterday it started to leak at the same spot
This one is about 100k miles
Thanks for the video I will need to do the same soon too. I also want to replace the starter at the same time, Do you know if the starter is accessible from the top or made easier considering some parts are removed for the valve cover gasket change?
@@nayy31 I believe the starter is located at the back side of the engine and below the intake manifold . I don’t think that’s In the same area . Best of luck
Good video 👍.
I was wondering on that engine (2015 Honda CRV) do not need valve adjustment? Because already you are on the spot, for hondas that is under "normal maintenance".
It only have oil leaks. Nothing wrong with drivability . Doesn’t need valve adjustment.
If ever it needs valve adjusting, it’s easy to remove the valve cover to do that.
Unlike the V6 of Hondas , the intake manifold needs removal just to access the valve covers
What product did you use to clean cover and area under gasket?
Brake cleaner
How long do I have to wait to start the car after finishing the whole process?
@@xyosoyluigx8288 you can start right away.
Where did you purchase the Honda pro gasket holder
I forgot check before and cant remember now, does this engine make a loud ticking sound when running?
Much appreciated. Difficult to hear you over the volume of the music.
Thanks brother. I’m trying to get better at editing videos 😊
Brake cleaner often contains harsh solvents than can melt plastics.
You’re not soaking it for long .
Do you have to disconnect the battery?
It’s always a good habit to remove the negative battery cable when working on a car
How much miles on the engine?
Bout to do my valve cover gasket and pcv valve at 171k miles.
It would be more useful without the music playing in background
This is half the repair…you didn’t replace the spark plug tune seals!
Have you seen one or work on this one before? Tube seals are built into the valve cover. They are pressed in and non serviceable .
There are some model that are with torque screws and replaceable
I am going to show this to my dad. We just got honda crv 2015 and its oil leaking. Its the third time we leave the car in the mechanics. 😔
The music dos let to listen🤦♂️🤦♂️
I wish I can re do and remove the music. I work on cars and I’m guilty not a good editor 😫
Hey bro, do you have a email or somewhere I can message you? I got a question
I wanted to ask what's the difference between Texas 4D63 and the 4d63

Looks like this valve cover oil leak is manufacturing design issue that should be fixed by Honda on a nation wide recall for free. I see this is a common issue with all 2015 Honda CRV with earthdream tec engines. I HAVE THE SAME EXACT ISSUE AS WELL AS A VCT ACTUATOR going bad on me.
