Walter certainly has a unique way of simplifying things so that even I know what's going on. We need that in bonsai. It's easy to over complicate things, and I see a lot of artist do it, leaving the audience with more questions than answers. Thanks Walter.
Refreshing to hear this genre of music, and quality as well, on bonsai videos! Impressed also by how fluent Mr pall is in English as a non-native speaker. Compliments all around.
I LOVE it! I just discovered Walter and am impressed with his style and love his technique. I've been a fan of bonsai for years, but I've never jumped in and tried it...I think it's time!
This is a good collaboration from Walter and the fine Sense of Marija who did also a really good job. I love the work on Hornbeams from animabonsai!!!!
+Robert Mohle Jr bonsai4me.com/species_guide.html Here's a good resource. Shrubs are very forgiving. And fun to work with, they tend to be quick and responsive if healthy.
Can we get links in the descriptions of these demos of what they look like each year? It would be really amazing if we can at least get picture collages of the evolution of the bonsais that we view here on Bonsai Empire.

I love it when someone as talented as Walter Pall gets a piece of crap tree and does something fantastic with it. I happen to enjoy penjing, so this tree is looking great already. Well, at least, I see the potential for looking great. @11:11 He starts work with the Arbortech mini-grinder. I'm wincing the entire time. The side handle appears to be missing. The turntable is flimsy. The tree is wobbling. Walter is stabbing at the tree with the tool. If you don't know how to use this tool, don't learn anything from this video! Walter has the skill to recognize what's happening. Novices are going to have a tool that's bouncing around as it cuts.
Graham Potter in the UK has lots of great tools for working with bonsai. Check out his videos on TH-cam and the link to his website is in the description.
Closely following your work increased from Turkey Yalova Bonsai We wish you continued success and congratulate wish to meet Hasan ŞİMŞEK and Osman ÇALIŞKAN
any excuse to grab a mic and ramble on. he admits he went against the Japanese custom of not having four as it means death, yet he has the cheek to call what he made is a bonsai.
Bonsai does not only originate from Japan, it is popular and developed in many countries in Asia. There are a lot diffrent, individual techniques, that not originate from Japan. Bonsai has many diffrent faces, and many diffrent names. The cultural background in Europe is not japanese, we have our own culture and are able to express our own way of Bonsai. He also siad, it looks more like chinese Bonsais do look like, probably you did not even know about that. Go check Taiwanese, Indonesian, Phillipines, Vietnam, Chinese etc. Bonsaiculture, and you will recognize they all differ from each other.

Great video. Walter is very a inspirational guy. I love how honest he is!
yeah he is. He didn't buy into the fact that you have to spend lots of money to have a world class tree. Just time and patience

I like both high styled Bonsai and a wild looking style. A good looking Bonsai is a good Bonsai

Hmm.
That's amateur!! He doesn't even bother with working with root structure. This is fundamental!
I'll have some of his amateur trees any day!
