    I have a Leyland 255 which I purchased here in NW Washington state nearly twenty years ago. It wasn't treated very well by the previous owner, so I've been repairing a bit at a time as I have the time and money to do so. Getting spare parts are a bit of a challenge at times. I enjoyed the video, and hope to visit the farmland of the UK some day

    I had a Nuffield 10/60 basically the same as that Leyland and experience the same problems and more it showed no loyalties 😞 and as a result was sold 😁 . Enjoyed vid 👍 from me Robin.

    My grandad had a brand new 255 in 1975 and my uncle had a brand new one massey ferguson 265 4 wheel drive multipower in 1975.
    They used to plough the fields together in the 70s.

    Nice one, I didn't understand all this keep it original when i first started collecting stuff. I have since come to understand. It is a form of evil to paint a nice original tractor or baler but especially combine then call it restoration. It is not restoration it is painting. Although i do appreciate the time and effort people put in when they rebuild machines up from scrap and then paint them. It is a thing of beauty to see a rare old combine, tractor or baler saved from the hedgerow and brought back to life.

    Never had much to do with the Leyland tractors not as popular in our area so not too many in preservation so interesting tractor to have a walk around of

    Cracking vid. Av just bought load of bits for my 384. Every day is a school day out in a 3600 today after 3 years owning it realised it had a foot throttle 😂

      We have a little Ford 3910H which wasn't at our yard when Robin came to film unfortunatly, cracking little 3 cylinder tractor that flys along the road in top at over 25mph !!!, had to have the engine rebuilt last year as it suffered the dreaded Ford porous block problem, it's a 1986 tractor & only 1800hrs on the clock.

      Antony Austin was it costly to do ?

    • @antonyaustin8779
      @antonyaustin8779 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jamessparrow6549, think we were quoted by the local NH dealers something like £4500 for the work so we decided to sell the tractor to one of the fitters who worked there, to cut a long story short the tractor then appeared on ebay having had the engine totaly re-done inc cylinder head & crankshaft plus other odd jobs for around £5000 so we bought it back.

    Lovely 270, pity you didn't show his 472.
    I learnt on a mf 595 and a Leyland 270 with a loader.

      I don't own a 472, i was just saying that i thought that the 472 was one of the first factory produced 4WD tractors that Leyland built, a company called Four Wheel Traction done a 4WD conversion of the 270 & BRAY equal size wheel 4WD conversions were available on Nuffield & Leyland 384 models.

      @@OutofTownwithRobinBell at the time didn’t think of it as a collection as they were all part of a working farm but now you mention a Nuffield Bray and people wet themselves they’ve obviously never used one as they were horrible to drive underpowered, take forever to turn and would quite regularly do their head gasket in. The universal 4 with live pto was a peach as was one of the 10/60’s
