My 82 Skyway needs this great job
Makes me feel like a kid again watching this awesome video. Love the detail you went to and made sure you restored them to the correct finish 👌
For those of us who grew up in Northern California in the 1970s, this is awesome! :)
Red bluff in the house
That was my childhood.. had too move in the middle of the bmx craze.. lucky enough I found new friends on the East Coast but not the same.. Bikes started getting real nice.. miss those days❤
Man those came out great! You’re salvaging our childhoods! Thanks. 👍🏻
Cool too know there rebuillable...
They look great ❤
Excellent. I’ve got a set of yellow Skyways from my Torker from 1981. I’m hoping they come out as good!
Yay for the alloy flanges!
Look good.there is a couple ways you could go to make your process faster.wire wheel on the axel will takes two minutes to make them look brand new..they make a paint removing brush for drill guns that would clean the dirt off the hubs a lot faster and not hurt anything..working in a shop time is everything..they look great though..
Looking Good , It's all coming along nicely
Like those tiress.. mine i got som Cheng Shen comp 3 style for a rebuild project.. there fine but i like a little label on the side.
I think a large sink and dish detergent with hot water would make the cleaning go WAY faster and with better results, use a small brush on the inside...
Luckily the hubs wasnt crushed that was common back in the day also i used to use a magnet for removeing loose ball bearings (i still do lol)this vid was very nostalgic for me as i used to do this every week to replace the alloy hubs that where crushed or stripped threads on the axles
Kool kontent and vid mate 🤘
Nice tranformation on the skyway tuffs
It's December 2020 and i'm still searching for Episode 3 :') I got a Skyway BMX and want to restore it. Maybe the videos helping me
"Lotsa great tips"! Cheers ;-)
Why did you never finish this build series? It was going great!
The priority to get the bike ready for the customer took over
@@alansbmx Bummer. I've been looking for inspiration for my TA.
i use a dishwasher to clean mags.
01:35 When taking bolts off like this, it's a good idea to apply a little lube, or copper anti-seize, and work the bolt back and forth a little. In doing this, it will loosen any debris collected (rust etc) and lowers the chance of complications in unthreading.
Would have helped if they had an impact gun
Where’s episode 3
U add sealed bearings from old school hubs I done it
Adjustable wrenches? Get yourself a set of decent spanners
Thanks for sharing..If i posted a set of mags to you what would this cost me including the new tubes & comp3's ? Many thanks
Wheres the rest of this restoration??
Did you ever get to finish this before the pandemic? Would be a pity to miss out on the rest...
Can I use WD-40 (the original product) to clean TUF mags? Or I have to use a special stuff?
lol big no no
The tire logo not where the valve stem is at and they both are in different locations
But they nice and clean
What bearings did you use?
Would trike skyway mags be compatible to work on a regular 24” bike? I know the front one will bolt right up. I’m wondering if the rear ones are compatible? I’m asking cause we have a trike at work that has a nice set of mags.
So are you guys gonna do a 2020 se bikes vid or whatever
link for the next episode, i couldnt find
yeah, would like to see the finished bike too
I need help fixing my coaster brake on some satelite mags...
Can you convert a front skyway mag into a rear one I have 2 front wheel only
Yep if the hubs are alloy buy a rebuild kit for a rear tuff you have to grind the heads off the rivets that hold the plates together and drift out the rivets the rebuild kit just bolts together hope this helps mate .
How do i find a whole coaster brake rear axle assembly for a 16 inch skyway rim need help thank you.
Where is episode 3?
Why don't you use a steam cleaner on hubs?
Where is the finished bike video???
Episode three?
I have Mk1 Raleigh Chromo Burner I want rebuilt, can't find the contact info
I have a set of tuff wheel 1's do you sell a front and rear axle, bearing for a rebuild?
Whetes episode 3?
Hey fellas, what happened to the follow up vids?
They screwed up on the re chrome so couldn’t show it
in 1985 I broke one while jumping from a wall
Where’s the following episodes for the restoration? We need to see the rest of the restoration and see the finished bike
As above the re chrome job was garbage so they didn’t show it
This dudes "American" accent is hilarious
Hes from New Zealand ;)
@@alansbmx ahhh! in that case, dont mention the war
Please save yourself "a lot of work" by power washing these parts
That'd be fantastic attention to detail wouldn't it
@@adamelliott3528 trust me you'll get it way more clean, use less product and save on man hours and the end result will be better as you can spend more time on finishing
