There is lots of amazing places in philippines need to be visit, I've been to Boracay last year and it was amazing. Boracay is a good choice because it is very near to Manila subsequently near to the international airport. Filipino of other cities should promote some and show the world how beautiful Philippine is. In fact Boracay is around the same distance from Cebu and makes a great alternative gateway flying into the Philippines as well as being less chaotic than Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Aiport
Yeah Love Cebu,Moal Boal was my home for over 2 years. Camotes will be my new home soon,as far as pretty sand, i would say Bantayan was truly the best i saw in all the Philippines. Most would say Boracay and they can have that Island, Calangaman and Higatangan are in Leyta and some here are Bohal.which was a province of Cebu long ago

Hi Rob, I would gladly appreciate it if you would give us a showcase of white sand beaches in Mactan, Cebu. It's also okay if you would show some hotels. As long as they have a nice beach and a pool is an option. It just depends with you because I know you have the eyes of a tourist. I'm in desperate need of a beach for a birthday and everything that I have seen is not reaching my expectation. Thanks.

I'm currently in South Korea and I'm going to the Philippines next month. Due to limited period of stay, I'm only planning of 2-3 days getaway to Cebu. Can you please tell me which island is the best to stay in Cebu.
Rhamea Grail Each island has their own uniqueness. Depends on what you like to do on your holiday. If you want to splurge then Mactan, if you want serenity try the Camotes. If you want a bit of everything you could even think of Bohol, that's not too far away
If one need a boat to get there and come back for not too boring nights, not really practicle and expensive. Castaway for a couple of hours is fun....for a couple of hours....

I wanted that too. I just checked. But my brother who is coming wants to go swim with the darn sharks. His wife and I wants Bantayan. So I guess we are going to Oslob. I have not researched Oslob if they have nice beaches. I hope they do. i will try to book the lodging by tonight. We are going in 1st week of January, peak season and most places are sold out already! Thanks.

Bantayan and Virgin Island are wonderful places. But sadly, downtown Cebu was disappointing. The city couldn't handle the fast paced progress. Litters everywhere and it's smelly in most places. Traffic jam was terrible. There is even one busy corner near a popular mall without a traffic light.
I don't understand why tourist don't flock to the Philippines like Thailand? I mean Philippines have some of the most beautiful islands in the world? Don't understand it..
+clippers4me I think it's slowly changing, more tourist are coming to the Philippines but no where in the way of Thailand. Anyhow with less tourists you can enjoy the beaches more!

Crime is relatively minor in Cebu. like with anywhere in the world you just need to use common sense to reduce risks.
