Yes, the one he eat the round one is DUHAT you can dip it w/salt or nothing it depends on you..there are so many places here on our country to go with..Come and explore the Philippines 🇵🇭
I like the vibes of Kuya Benjie from the food stall (aka carinderia). His english is good enough to at least tell you about the food. Suman (that sticky rice wrapped in coconut leaves) has variations. My favorite is the one made from kamoteng kahoy (cassave) filled with either sweet ube or sweet stuff.
I think what she meant was 1/4 kilo of the Duhat, or Java Plum. That’s best eaten with salt. We used to put the fruits in between 2 plates and shake it with salt . 👍
Ali.. a word of advice.. try learning a few Phillipino's greetings.. it will go a very long way.. (some of those vendor looked at you with a sense of suspicious).. those fruit and veg vendor are very nice people but they will be even nicer if you make the effort to greet them in their language.. this apply to all the countries and cultures of your forthcoming destinations..
Can't agree more I been to Ph 4 times My Tagalog now is full sentences compared to my first time with the very basics I noticed the vendors too But overall they are more curious about where he is from Not looking like an American Even if he adds the word "po" with English is good Better is Kumasta Po Best is Magandang umaga sa iyo ! Good morning to you ! people where i live You would not be sticking a camera in their faces before they start either asking why Or down right tell you to stop And go somewhere else The same respect should be given to these people They do infact know you are there to throw them on youtube and get paid without asking them ..
The vendor kinda dont know how to express herself that's why she can't communicate that well. But believe me Filipinos are very friendly and adorable people. When you came into some they call "depress area" don't be discourage.. It's natural for them to look at you as a stranger with or without good intention.
Ripe Duhat actually tastes like cherry. I know the taste and we have cherries here in Italy. We usually shake some ripe duhat with salt sounds wierd but I like it. So when I miss duhat with salt I use cherry and it somewhat tastes the same! 😅👍🏼✌🏼

Chicken tinola is one of our favorite dish as it usually has lots of veggies and green leafy vegetables like the green Chili leaves, malunggay or morninga leaves, green papaya or sayote .. It has lots of ginger that is why the soup is quite spicy because of the ginger and green Chili
Thanks for all your blogs...I enjoyed it...you really inspired me to start mine...just waiting when I go back home to the Philippines...for now just enjoyed watching here in California...thanks again

I reccomend you to visit the city of Baguio. It’s far from Metro Manila but totally worth visiting. Then you can also explore Vigan City, it’s next to Baguio City but still a long ride.
Haha there was a confusion there. She was saying for 1/4 of Duhat you need to pay 50 pesos. That is Pancit Miki Bihon. The spaghetti looking noodle is an egg noodle. :) Yeah, put calamansi and pepper. Bagoong is permented fish and in Tinola that is Sayote or Chayote (Sechium edule), also known as mirliton and choko
Hi Ali - try to visit (Kalinga-Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao) to learn more filipino culture. Thank you for loving and appreciating our beloved country Philippines.
Wow Ali you really are amazing person, that is truly street foods in Quiapo,i myself did not eat in that place, down to earth you are!!You will surely win the heart of pinoy in doing that!!
Duhat is a Java Plum in English, Syzygium cumini is the Scientific name and the benefits of Duhat is also used for digestion disorders including gas (flatulence), bowel spasms, stomach problems, and severe diarrhea (dysentery). Another use is treatment of lung problems such as bronchitis and asthma.
Hi Ali, Duhat is my favorite fruit in our childhood days. Specially after playing, we climb the tree, picked duhat, put in the bowl, sprinkled with a little salt cover and shake it.
Ali that vegetable in TINOLA that what you call SAYOTE - a tropical fruit shaped like a pear, with green skin and white flesh, that is usually cooked and eaten as a vegetable: Market tables were piled high with cabbages, kohlrabi, and chayote. Slice and stir-fry a chayote and an onion.
You are handsome, Ali, Son! Your aura looks so light, and we can really feel how nice of a person you are. Enjoy your stay in Philippines and hope soon I can visit my country again.
It's safe to try street food as long as you have a strong immune system but for those who have a sensitive stomach that can cause gastroenteritis. Highly suggest to wash all the items like fruits, veggie before eating and sometimes homemade iced drinks can cause diarrhea. The noodles called Bihon-Canton pancit, the glass tiny is the bihon, the thicker one is the canton. Duhat is healthy local fruit of the Philippines. The sales lady said 1/4 kilos is PHP50, the street game is local version of billiard called "Pool billiard" Quiapo and Divisoria markets are best known for low/cheap prices or the bargain stuff from fruits, meat, clothes etc. The dehydrated fish is called Tuyo best for breakfast with tomato, sunnyside-up egg, and garlic rice. 👏🏻🥳
Ali, you have to wash first the duhat or any fruits you’ll buy before eating it to make sure its well sanitized.. The “dehydrated fish” you were referring to is called “tuyo or dried fish” here in Ph. Normally we fry it.
The small dried fish is "TUYO" in english it means "Dried". Commonly, we don't boil it but instead we fried it and it is good with garlic rice. Commonly eaten for breakfast. It is really salty so a pinch of it is enough to a spoonful of rice.
Where you ate Tinolang Manok (made with chicken, green papaya ices, sili leaves and ginger or luya) and Adobong Talong or eggplant (made with eggplant, soy sauce, vinegar and garlic) is a carinderia, although not in roof building but in the sidewalk.
I enjoy watching your vlogs.. whether in my cp and on our tv whenever i am free since, am taking care of my two love ones who are sick both suffered stroke.. God bless us all..
15:25 correction for what the seller said.. SAYOTE is not natives in Philippines.. that vegetable originally came from latin America (chayote).... Brought by spain

You are handsome, Ali, Son! Your aura looks so light, and we can really feel how nice of a person you are. Enjoy your stay in Philippines and hope soon I can visit my country again.
Ali Machan,
Very good content! Keep it up
What she meant was p50 for a quarter of a kilo (1/4) Duhat/plum/ Java plum 🙂
With the sticky rice you have to put sugar or eat it with ripe mango. Sometimes we fry it then eat with mangoes.
The small dried fish is "TUYO" in english it means "Dried". Commonly, we don't boil it but instead we fried it and it is good with garlic rice. Commonly eaten for breakfast. It is really salty so a pinch of it is enough to a spoonful of rice.
Wow! Way to go man! You went from 30k subs to 111k subs! Philippines loves you man. Amazing.

Duhat have lots of antioxidants and I think it's good for disolving gallstones.
Hi Ali im new subscriber, from philippines 🇵🇭 glad you try our street food.
Where you ate Tinolang Manok (made with chicken, green papaya ices, sili leaves and ginger or luya) and Adobong Talong or eggplant (made with eggplant, soy sauce, vinegar and garlic) is a carinderia, although not in roof building but in the sidewalk.
My mouth is drooling while watching you eating duhat. It is best eaten with salt. Always watching your videos. Overseas Filipino worker in Qatar.
I enjoy watching your vlogs.. whether in my cp and on our tv whenever i am free since, am taking care of my two love ones who are sick both suffered stroke.. God bless us all..
A fourth of a kilo of duhat is fifty pesos. Fruits, vegetables, meat, etc. are priced per kilo (or 1/8, 1/4, half, etc.)
I think its better if you shake it either salt or sugar if you want to taste better.
Finally, Sharon arrived nice to meet you 🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏👏👏👏it was an awesome tour
Suman is a sticky rice means made from glutinous rice wrapped with coconut leaves called "suman"..
That fruit duhat is very nutritious! It will make your tongue blue 😊. It will be sweeter if you shake it with salt and cool in the fridge.
